  • Little error at 0:05 , when Hot Rod reaches into his chest compartment, his had goes BEHIND the door way. LOL!

  • From Rodimus Prime to (basically) a shorter Rodimus Prime.

  • I AM THE BIGGEST FAN....EVER...BUT YALL TALKIN BOUT THIS LIKE ITS REAL LIFE...SMH!

  • WTF was 0:04 about?

  • @calleyne90 When Rodimus Prime opened his chest?

  • @AeonMagnus The parts around his eyes turned black, an animation error probably

  • is it just me or the animation in G1 is better than this?

  • @NJohnGA10 This is G1. You probably mean season 1 (and 2).

  • @AeonMagnus yup thats what i meant. I thought that seasons 1 and 2 is G1 and seasons 3 - 4 is G2.

  • @NJohnGA10 G1 consists of seasons 1, 2 and 3, the movie, and the "season 4" Rebirth mini-series.

G2 didn't start until the 90s. Its cartoon consisted of G1 episode reruns enhanced by the "cybernet space cube" transitions and other minor effects.

Season 1 and most of season 2 were animated by Japanese studio Toei. Korean studio AKOM did a couple of very distinctive Constructicon-centric episodes in season 2, most of season 3, and all of Rebirth. Their animation was more... budget oriented.

  • @AeonMagnus Thanks! That cleared alot of confusion for me

  • Rodimus Prime....the most irresponsible, reckless, immature, and selfish the Autobots ever had. Yet he was the guy who snagged the Matrix of leadership when Optimus loss his grip via rigor mortis. Ultra Magnus would of made a much better successor to Optimus Prime than Hot Rod.

  • @RVMan985 That's a bit of a white-wash. He was a character who was not created already as a leader and had to learn to be one (this is called character development, BTW). Touching or catching the Matrix would be the most random, illogical way to choose a leader. Especially for a millions-of-years-old supposed repository of wisdom. Either he was predestined to be the leader, or he earned it by his leadership and persistence throughout the movie.

  • @AeonMagnus True, you're right about that, but he gave the Matrix to an undead Optimus Prime. Don't you think that's a little irresponsible?

  • @AeonMagnus I was always under the impression that because he touched the Matrix before Ultra Magnus, and the Matrix was only ever intended for the current leader or his successor to have possession of it, that was why it failed to respond to Ultra Magnus when he tried to open it. It registered as belonging to Hot Rod because it was in his hands right after leaving Optimus's. Thus Hot Rod became Rodimus due to a complete fluke, not because of destiny.

  • @99krenger99 That would be an illogical and completely random way for the most powerful Autobot artifact, a supernatural receptacle of ultimate knowledge, to select a leader; basically, a game of Snap.

It's true, it's intended only for the leader to open it, which is why Ultra Magnus and Galvatron couldn't, and why Hot Rod could. But the "touching" thing is anti-supernatural (ie: Optimus' disembodied voice) and anti-epic, and has logistical problems, eg: Alpha Trion's custody of the Matrix.

  • @AeonMagnus I agree, completely random, but that's how I believe the general consensus sees it as happening. The "destined for greatness" theory sort of falls flat given that he never did anything great as Rodimus. He was always full of doubt about himself and was borderline self-loathing. As soon as he had an opportunity, he shirked the Matrix back to Optimus because he couldn't handle the responsibility of being leader. That's not a sign of greatness at all. He was mediocre at best.

  • @99krenger99 He handed back the Matrix because he didn't understand why the Matrix chose him, and cos like so many fans, he kep comparing himself to Optimus, instead of letting him establish his own path. At the end of that episode, he walked back up to Optimus, sans Matrix, demanding it back. He didn't actually do anything _wrong_ aside from just not being Optimus. He was responsible for destroying Unicron, uncovering the truth of the Quints and saving the day most of the 30-ish eps of the s3.

  • Part of this is character development, which was rare throughout the entire G1 run. Optimus was somewhat ridiculously flawless as a leader and a character. Rodimus had flaws and had to figure it out as he went along. He wasn't incapable of doing the job, as Magnus kept saying, he just had to believe in himself. Perhaps "greatness" is for others to decide, however he was at the very least destined to be the leader. Optimus approved of his selection, so who are we to argue with the great Optimus?

  • I'm not sure the "touching" thing is a consensus. From what I've seen, many people have realized the "touching" theory falls apart when they actually think about what it means, across not only the movie timeframe but the Matrix's eons of history.

The only variation I've seen which eliminates the randomness (and doesn't, frankly, strike me as _completely_ stupid) is destiny itself ensuring that the intended leader touches the Matrix first. Which would mean Hot Rod was the Chosen One regardless.

  • @AeonMagnus He never did anything wrong, aside from being directly responsible for Optimus sustaining mortal injuries from a battle he had no business interfering with. He could have blasted the gun Megs was reaching for w/ any 1 of the 6 blasters mounted on his forearms. The Matrix destroyed Unicron. HotRod's lucky catch allowed him to open it. He never did anything by himself. Kup was there for the Quints & Magnus was there, w/ others, helping him save the day. Just a different point of view.

  • @99krenger99 Wrong place at the wrong time. Megatron killed Optimus. On my clip of the showdown between TFA Optimus Prime and Megatron, I've had people ask why the other Autobots didn't help out. I find that ironic. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Hot Rod didn't open it; Rodimus Prime did, and he wouldn't be Rodimus Prime without all the elements of their "darkest hour" falling into place. That was one that Optimus Prime himself prophesied, along with "one day an Autobot shall rise from

  • our ranks". Which is the even bigger tell, since it happened before he passed the Matrix and pretty much telegraphed the you're-not-the-One, otherwise he would have said "you".

A "lucky catch" points out the flaw in the catch theory; why would an unworthy lucky catch be allowed to shape the future of the Autobots? Something like the Matrix should have safeguards against that.

Ultimately he was destined, if only because Hasbro wanted him, as the Luke Skywalker-ish character, to take over.

  • @AeonMagnus Some people, & bots, don't understand the importance of a final showdown between Leaders in a war. I had to go back and watch the clip, but HR had the Matrix open, albeit not completely, & the releasing energy changed him into Rodimus. After beating Galvatron, he finishes opening it. Optimus did make a prophecy but HR changes because of the Matrix energy. That's why Rodimus changed back to HR in your clip when he gave it up & also why when he gets it back he becomes Rodimus again.

  • @99krenger99 The biggest problem with the theory is that it says that we as an audience, with something like 5 seconds of exposure to this Matrix thing, know more about it than the Autobots who have lived with it in their culture for millions of years (albeit by a big tap-dancing retcon). So, even if nobody shouted "Noooooo!!!" to HR's attempt to catch it (due to Hasbro's need to position him as the new leader), none of them, not Perceptor or Optimus himself, realized HR would become leader.

  • Or, at least, said anything about it. It basically smacks of a global warming pirate (Google can explain): correlation does not equal causation. People see a glow and believe it's caused by and causes certain events. But nothing any of the other characters actually do or say backs any of it up. There really isn't anything in the movie or anywhere else to support this misconception. And yet people (supposedly a consensus) have it. I'd never heard of it until I uploaded the movie a few years ago.

  • The animation isn't as bad as I remembered it. Certainly better than G.I.Joe.

  • Haha las comment makes me laugh.

  • Give me back that fucking matrix IMMEDIATELY! You've run this organization right into the fucking ground Hotrod!

  • @Shadowlit001 rude awakening, right?

  • Optimus should have said, "Gimme that back! You never deserved it 'cause you got me killed you dumb-fuck!" *puts on Matrix* "(says random shit)!! Holy shit, what happened? Oh yeah, the Quintessons re-animated me to get you all killed. So let's get away from them."

  • you'd think that prime in pain and saying "NO!" would be a clue that something was wrong...

  • @nicholascooney No, the gun, the blasts from it and the big Megatron pulling the trigger are responsible for his death. Hot Rod was accidentally responsible for a tactical shift. It doesn't even qualify as legal negligence.

People go on about "Hot Rod killed Prime" as if Megatron wasn't even there. Megatron pulled the trigger. Multiple times. You might as well arrest the deer that ran onto the road, causing you to flip your car. The other Autobots didn't go on about it, why should you?

  • @nicholascooney Cos that gun Megatron was holding had nothing to do with it.

  • just like jayleno screwed conan optimus screwed rodimus are we sre this wasnt where jay leno got the idea top screw conan?

  • lets party !!!

  • The Quintesons brought Optimus back to life, but he was all fucked up,

  • I know hotrod felt gulity for what happened to prime but he should've questioned primes behaviour before willing handing the matrix back over and almost inadveredly getting the autobots killed in the process and themselfs when prime fired back at them.

I wish they kept rodimus character like he was in the film instead of making him a wuss most of the time who didn't care, he had potential and if they could bring back prime, why couldn't they bring back ironhide and a few others as well :( .

  • I thought the transformers g1 series ended with the movie.

  • @hgs25 There was a third full-length season (approximately 30 episodes) set after the events of the movie, and then the special 3-episode "Rebirth" mini-series after that, which is usually referred to as "season 4".

  • @hgs25 me too

  • Why does having / not having the matrix change Rodimus / Hot Rod so dramatically and Optimus not at all? Bad writing and dealing with the movie in season 3 maybe?

  • @Gammelbit Hot Rod was upgraded into Rodimus Prime. Optimus Prime was built as Optimus Prime in "War Dawn".

  • @AeonMagnus Rebuilt, actually, from Orion Pax. (g1 cartoon continuity ofc)

  • @kranktank Yes, however the point is that his body was constructed, non-mystically, for him to _be_ Optimus Prime, and there's nothing left to revert back to.

  • @AeonMagnus That's true, good point.

  • Did the matrix make a mistake !!!!! Hahahha well the whole rodimus prime giving back matrix was use bc the writers did not want rodimus to be like optimus they would have been using the same character all over again So they made RP feel un sure of himself as a leader. I guess they wanted season 3 to be much different than season 1 and 2

  • I wish that Hot Rod was a 1991 GEO Metro.

  • I wish that Hot Rod was a 1991 GEO Metro =(

  • Yeah that's definetly hot rod.

  • now that's funny

  • lol, its like this, rodimus prime giving away the matrix which makes him older and wiser, while optimus turns older. rodimus-the matrix= hot rod: oh right lets party!

  • Hot Rod couldn't wait to give that matrix back.

    "I fucked up. I'm sorry."

  • @TheKingOfRuckus from what i remember, this was the first episode Rodimus fucked up, so, theres no fucking excuse, he was destinate to be the bravest autobot ever, dont you remember the five faces of darkness part 3? ''i saw very brave Autobots in my time, but nothing like this...''

and he risked his life to enter in the matrix!

but these writers were a completa assholes.

wish i could go back in time in my delorean, and stop this from happening.

  • all right hot rod is back lets party

  • why is it that prime didn't want the matrix

  • He can tell there's something not right about himself.

  • they should never have brought back Optimus. he died as a legend and a hero. let Rodimus prime be the leader and deal with his doubts. u don't bring back a dead person,it's just wrong.

  • @Kakaidol youre one of the few who understand. because optimus was back, they created those headmasters bullshit and G1 went down the toilet.

  • I think this was from the G1 Movie

  • As mentioned in the video notes, this is from the season 3 episode "Dark Awakening".

  • Yes. And besides, the movie had better quality animation than the TV series had. I remember this episode quite well.

  • Much better quality. This episode seems to suffer from the same odd animation style as "City of Steel" and "The Core".

  • Yes. Precisely.

  • lol 0:21-0:23 looks like he just Rodimus Prime shrunk

  • He did.

  • Man, uploaded on my birthday. :)

  • optimus is creepy when he is a zombie

  • Love Hot Rod/Rodimus's reaction to reverting back to his younger(???) form.

  • LET'S PARTY! xD

  • i like how he just throws it in his hands even though primes saying no :P LOL

  • Why Was Optimus Prime looks like he can't take the Matrix?

  • He's a zombie.

  • It's pitiful that the makers of Transformers didn't realize that Prime was a father figure for millions of kids. Killing him off in the movie was a HUGE mistake. I always felt this storyline was an excuse to bring him back to save the Toys but the damage had been done. Prime's death may have been the first time many kids encountered death. Yeah, it was just a cartoon but its hard to tell this concept to kids who are 9 and still believe in Santa Claus and stuff. Many cartoons learned from this.

  • @farcher3 i was 7 seven and this was the first major encounter with death that I could recall. What you say has merit. Even if it was just a cartoon about fake robots it was still traumatizing to kids of that age and many kids i recall could not except it. That said, I applaud the writers for taking a risk when most play it safe. I think they missed an opportunity to really explore the Rodimus character who was unprepared to lead and was probably more sympathetic than Optimus.

  • He had been reprogrammed to destroy the autobots the matrix was the start of Prime turning good again

  • @LuqmanIsDaAnimator more specifically his "corpse" was messed with by the Quintisons (yes i butchered that) in an attempted to be basically a Transformers Terminator. Yeah didn't go over to well for them Prime regains enough of his original mind to tell the autobots whats going on and then seals himself in the Autobot tomb if I remember correctly

  • What was wrong with Prime? He was acting all weird.

  • He's a zombie.

  • @Muskrat4893 well watch the episode and find out

  • @Muskrat4893 Prime is acting weird cause the Quintessons brought him back to life as a zombie to destroy all Cybertronians.

  • @Muskrat4893 he's a zombie controlled by the quintasons to lead the autobots in to a death trap

  • @Muskrat4893 Space herpies.

  • @Muskrat4893 matrix is that awesome?

  • @Muskrat4893 This is nemesis prime. In dark awakening, They find primes body and it is actually nemesis prime

  • @s0undwave97 No it's not. Nemesis Prime didn't exist until years after this. It's a simple Quintesson zombie thing.

  • @s0undwave97 Oh.. Thanks for the info

  • @s0undwave97 nemesis prime is a japanese creation so therefore not cannon. japan picked up the seires after we ended it (And sumerly F-ed it up)

  • @godsmight10 Nemesis Prime as a name is a US thing. The Japanese version originated as Black Convoy in Robots in Disguise/Car Robots, which is not a continuation of the original series. And regardless of the name, he is canon in the continuities in which he appears: Armada, Universe, Binaltech/Alternators, Alternity and so on. They are all as legit as any US-originating series, making him no less canon than Straxus, Xaaron, Impactor or Devcon.

  • @Muskrat4893 its the episode where the quints messed with his circuits

  • @Muskrat4893 The reason Prime was acting werid was because he was brought back incomplete. Undead. It was still him but he had no control over his actions.

  • @Muskrat4893 the Quintesons, were controlling him

  • @Hakuru15 Were they the original that made the Matrix? It was in the center of Cybertron and it gave life. I can't remember.

  • @Moe7133 The Quintessons were the aliens that created and sold the non-sentient robot products that would evolve into the Autobots and Decepticons. The Matrix is wrapped up in the mystical aspect of them becoming sentient and self-determining (Primus, the Oracle, etc), which was not the Quintessons' doing or intention; they just wanted to make and sell robots.

  • @Muskrat4893 he was under a certain........"spell" he was controlled by someone reallyyy baaaad

  • @Muskrat4893 He was reborn as a puppet for the Quintessons.

  • what episode is this one?

  • Read the video description.

  • Yeah but he was always a worthless piss-ant even as Rodimus. What a stupid name...Rodimus Prime sounds like a marital aid.

  • LoL

"Got a little dick? Is your wife cheating on you because of it? Take some Rodimus Prime before you hop in the sack, you'll get your marriage back on TRACK!"

  • Do you even know what Rodimus means?

  • "Did you keep it nice and warm for me?"

  • Yus, yus he did. XD

  • Ultra Magnus shoulda been the leader after Optimus.. why the producers/writers give it to a gay guy like hotrod. Ultra Magnus woulda transformed into Magnimus Prime.

  • I'm pretty sure he was straight, dude. Beachcomber would've been Beachcombus Prime. Bumblebee would've been Bumbleus Prime. Springer-Springimus Prime. Anyone could've been the leader with that logic.

  • wat episode this show

  • The episode title is in the clip notes.

  • Hot rod did the right thing here, i'm not even sure if even Jesus himself could fill in Optimus shoe as leader , the guy been leader for million of years.Talk about the stress of living up to your predecessor.

  • Just out of curiosity, where is your brain? Is it functioning properly? I doubt it. That's disgusting to compare Jesus, the son of God to th fictional character Optimus Prime. Trannsformers is a cartoon. Are you even aware of what Jesus did while on Earth? Do you know why his death was necessary? The answer is no for all those questions. Stupid comments like yours simply show the degree of brain damage yuo must have.

  • Ish,ish the fact that I use Jesus as a reference point ,show that I have respect for the man and that why Im telling that even hypnotically even Jesus could not replace Optimus in the eyes of the fans who whine about Rodimus and Optimus being killed. Im not even a Christian and yet I know about his deeds and have a level of respect for the man but shame on you for answering so unchristlike with mockery and insults. Im sure Jesus is proud of you.

  • I'm christian and even I thought azariah15's comment was stupid. It's the net, he needs to take a chill pill.

    I agree. Very unchristlike.

  • Okay, so if Rodimus Prime transforms back into Hot Rod when he relinquishes the Leadership Matrix, then why didn't Optimus Prime transform back into Orion Pax?

  • Because Optimus Prime was physically reconstructed by Alpha Trion, not mystically upgraded. There's no Orion Pax to go back to.

And because it would require too much explanation for those who didn't see "War Dawn".

  • To AeonMagnus: I thougt Optimus was originally named Optronic. Of course, I haven't seen that part of the series in so long.

  • It depends on the continuity. In the G1 cartoon, which is what kpenguin2x3 was referring to, Optimus Prime's pre-"Optimus Prime" form was Orion Pax. In the Dreamweave comic series it was Optronix.

  • the fucks wrong with optimus

  • Because the Quintessons reanimated him as a zombie, and he's aware that he came back "wrong".

  • Lets Party :D

  • why did Rodimus give the matrix back?

  • Because Rodimus never wanted to be the leader, and never felt he measured up to Optimus (kind of hard to fill the shoes when the guy before you walked in them for millions of years). So he took the opportunity to return the leadership to him.

  • @DelevegaXII

Yes I understand Rodimus. When my grandfather became really ill he wanted me to take over his business. Well like Rodimus, I did it, but I never felt comfortable doing it. So one day when my granddaddy got better, and I kinda gave him back the business. Man did my relatives get pissed at me.

I was never comfortable being the leader. I preferred my grandfather as the boss, but regretfully he can't now. So in a way, I understand Rodimus wanting to give back the matrix to Optimus.

  • @DelevegaXII That's what the Season3 writters made. in the last bit of the movie, we saw Rodimus Prime as a decided Leader. more confident, ready to continue what Optimus began, also, Optimus passed the same situation Rodimus passed. the only difference is that Optimus became a great Leader. and when Rodimus decided, ''I'm a Leader now'', Optimus came back. so, he pretty much RUINED the G1.

  • @DelevegaXII

He must have felt like Optimus had thousands of fans who just wanted him to f**k up, because Optimus was much cooler and more Optimus.

  • @Gammelbit More Optimus?? you mean more Prime

  • @DelevegaXII that's what the writers made him. in the last bit of the movie, and in the minisseries, the 5 faces of darkness, we see Rodimus Prime confident as a leader, making you wonder what this new exciting leader looks like, but when bill tritt stop writing the season 3 episodes, new writers came and developed Rodimus as the way you described there.

i hate this! dark awakening, the ultimate weapon, these episodes must burned with fire!

  • @DelevegaXII i agree. shoes to fill dont come much bigger than those

  • You have got to love it when Hot Rod gets shot by Optimus.

  • Mostly because it's what everyone wants.

  • So, um... Rodimus gets shorter and now he's Hot Rod?

  • He gets "young" again.

  • Rodimus face at 0:06 freaked out!-why?...scary

  • WOW!!

Rhodimus Prime was so stupid and selfish in that scene.

"I don't want to lead so I'll force it upon some zombie that resembles Prime who's afraid of the matrix."

  • Awesome

  • rodimus sucks dog balls, biggest mistake they ever made was killing optimus

  • How about you shut yer fucking gate you pathetic waste of life, You're an 18 year old fucking kid who wasn't even born when we where watching this. Fuck son you weren't even a thought in your dad's dick. You're sadly yet another prime example of a ripped condom.

  • your mother bot must have a spin cycle in her oral chamber! Excellent!

  • So, Rodimus back to Hot Rod, just like that...just like magic....odd.

  • is their a way to buy a dvd of this season?

  • G1 has been released on DVD, although it might be harder to get just this season separately, instead of a boxset with all the seasons. Check your local DVD sellers, or search Amazon or eBay for: Transformers G1 DVD

  • The boxsets are a bitch to find. I would suggest the japanese boxsets, They have the entire series in one box, and have english audio. SO it works just as well and is cheaper.

  • Mine (which is where this clip came from) is a Chinese boxset off eBay. All episodes plus the movie. Audio is in English or Chinese.

  • Yeah, I want that one. The quality on youtube looks great if this is from that. Especially since I know Youtube dumbs the quality down a little, So I may pick up the box. Is yours the one in the silver tin with the autobot symbol on it?

  • Be aware that being from the 1980s they're only 4:3 (not widescreeen) and approx "good VHS" quality. They haven't been remastered to 2008 standards or anything, and are of questionable origin.

I don't see mine on eBay at the moment. From the specs, it looks similar to the silver tin one; they probably just updated the box.

Also be aware that the menus may be in Chinese - you can fake your way through them easily, just always choose the first option. Check with the seller.

  • u lot r soo fuckin sad

  • lol then why post here, unless you are just as sad as we are. Begone you miserable worm, before I treat you like a Scuxoid and VAPORISE YOU!

  • Clearly only here to be a nuisance. You have no interest in the topic at hand, and nothing even tangentially worthwhile to say, so BLOCKED.

  • Why was Optimus freaking out there?

  • Because the Quintessons reanimated him, and he knows that he's come back "wrong".

  • show when prime pwns that sorry little b*st*rds a*s!

    that was the best part!

    I mean,

    he kills prime,

prime tell magnus that magnus's the leader,

then hot rod steals the matrix and COMPLAINS!

  • Hot Rod didn't "steal" the Matrix. There's a reason the Matrix wouldn't open for Magnus - it was destined to be carried by Rodimus Prime.

  • Yeah until Optimus takes it back from him. lol

  • true

  • he gets shot after

  • Hot Rod is a bitch! He just got demoted and he's all happy about it.

  • hehehehe

  • No, he's not a b****. kyler187, if you were in that character's place, wouldn't you be happy? Think about it very carefully.

The person you think died entirely because of you is alive again, which means you can give back the Matrix & "return to the way I was", basically pretending that nothing has happened.

To me, that helps make Hot Rod/Rodimus feel more real. Who can say that they haven't tried to pretend that nothing has happened, to go back to the way things were?

  • wow, I think I posted that shit almost 6 months ago. And finally had someone with no life along and bitch about it. Oh and Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime is a complete and total bitch.

  • I very much resent that comment of yours. How does laying out my disagreement with your opinion constitute whining? If I had wanted, I could have simply spared myself the time of typing out a thoughtful comment and post the "no-brain-required" sort of comment that you've done above.

Also, what does it matter if your post was yesterday or 2 years ago? It's not as though it were a part of some "Q&A", in which case it would have been resolved and no further comment(s) warranted.

  • You resent my comment. You act like I just insulted your holy savior. And your right I was mistaken it doesn't mean you are whining. But at least save your layed out opinion for a worthy cause, not whethor or not Hot Rod is a bitch or not. Which I still consider him a complete and total bitch for just handing out his authority. Showing that he couldn't take the pressure as leader and waited for someone better to come along.

  • To clarify: the part I resented was not that you were referring to Hot Rod as a "b****", but that you called me a person "with no life" and a whiner. That's it.

That said, I will admit that you're probably right that I could have chosen more wisely the subject to be debating on.

    *sigh* Just agree to disagree?

  • Wow guys. Just wow. To all of that.

  • i thought ultra magnus would be the new prime coz he looks like optimus but he didnt use the fucking matrix when he should at the time he needed to thats y hot rod was suppose to be the leader

  • I like him as Hot Rod better than Rodimus anyway I had the Rodimus toy and not the Hot Rod toy and i was so mad

  • Me too.

  • what wrong with Optimus Prime ?

  • If you watch the full episode, you'll see that the quintessons revived Optimus as a some-what zombie.

  • "Alright Hot Rod is back lets party!"

    classic

  • wat episode was this from?

  • All of my clips have the episode titles in the notes.

  • "Dark Awakening"

  • Previously I was answering episode name queries multiple times a day, and more than once, multiple times for the same episode (even though I already answered it further up in the comments).

I've decided I'm not spoon-feeding the answers individually, but instead teaching them where to find the answer I've already provided to everyone; it's sitting right there in the notes. So maybe next time they won't need to ask.

(P.S. I already answered further up the page. Like, comment #2.)

  • For this episode, they kept referring to him as Rodimus, even after he gave Optimus the Matrix. To me, Rodimus was only Hot Rod from the time he gave Optimus the Matrix till Optimus gave it back to him, regardless of what they called him during that.

  • yeah, you got that lame ass Flint Dille (head writer)to thank for RUINING Optimus' whole character in the later episodes. He totally sold out Prime's everything, all the true fans know exactly what i mean...

  • transformers. wikia. com/wiki/True_fan

    transformers. wikia. com/wiki/Ruined_FOREVER

  • If I remember Hot Rod gets throw around by Prime after doing that, lol

  • I always hated the animation right after the movie. The cartoon lost its clean anime look. Its like they put all their energy into the movie and in order to keep up with the demand to meet a television schedule, they just gave us left-overs. The stories were still good though.

  • Toei animated all of S1 and the bulk of S2, while AKOM pitched in on only a few S2 eps.

After the movie, AKOM did most of S3 and all of Rebirth (S4) with Toei only getting a few S3 eps (it's believed TMS did the highly regarded Call of the Primitives).

When they decided to keep going on their own, Takara switched back to Toei for Headmasters, Masterforce & Victory.

AKOM has a history of being more error-prone (they've been fired before) but previously (and still) contributes to The Simpsons.
