I visited UK and Ireland 6 years ago, and to this day, I long to return to Scotland. I felt truly at home there. Everything I saw was absolutely breathtaking, including Loch Lomond on a rainy, overcast day in October. I will return someday.
I'm English but I've been to Scotland and its like the last remaining place where you can feel "truely British", Loch Lomond isn't one of the most beautiful places in the world, its THE most beautiful :)
Beautiful as always and my heart and soul shall forever belong to Bonnie Scotland and her magical highlands and she forever sits upon my right shoulder "ALBA GU BRATH" XOXXO I will never forget my magical journey during "Home Coming 2009" my heart and soul truly felt it had found home and came home...
Beyond bonnie banks an' beyond bonnie brae's where the sun shines bright, on loch lomand, where me an ma true love will never meet again on the bonnie, bonnie banks of loch lomand
Twas there that we partred an yon shady glen on the steep, steep side on ben lomand where purple hay ye highland hills we view and the moon comin' oot in the gloamin'
There is only one greater tragedy than a Son who turns his back on his father and that is a father who turns his back on his daughter. God bless you and keep you safe. While I am here I am always here for you. x DAD

I went to Scotland in 97 , met scottish gentleman with his lovely wife , he introduced himself as Ewing , we were total strangers discussing this song and Eric Liddell , as a parting gift he gave me a can of Scottish tea , I will never forget his scottish hospitality , Scotland is beautiful with people like him , if you are reading this Ewing , I like to say a big THANK YOU !
I went to Scotland once. It rained non-stop & I my toes were frostbitten. The people are stoney-faced and drunken and continually curse the English. The only food is haggis which is being hunted to extinction. Everyone is either obese or has MS. I was attacked by a swarm of midges & was thrown out of a pub for saying the Loch Ness Monster did't exist. I couldn't sleep at night due to the non-stop bagpiping. I am never going back.
To al who wright ,the would like to go to Scotland ,i can just say ,GO not in a lifetime wil you regret it.I have been there many times ,i can asure you everytime i saw something different.unbelieveble.
@ThePsychofishy So right! I'm Norwegian by birth, but I feel that my identity is just as much Scottish as Norwegian. I know I only lived in Scotland for one year, but still... The only songs that ever make me almost cry are Scottish songs. Never Norwegian songs... I'm planning to move back to Scotland someday
my mom wanted to take myself and my daughter (then she was 3, now she is 14) to Scotland to learn more of our roots (my grandmother came from Scotland when she was 4). Sadly, my mother passed away that year. I hope to one day visit Scotland. It's the only t hing on my bucket list.
@aimzeeee that's so sad, I really hope you get to :'( You have to come to Scotland, I'm lucky enough to live only 15 mins away, most beautiful place I've ever seen, doesn't half rain a lot though ;)
I've been to England a couple of times, but never got to Scotland. From what I see on here and google earth Scotland is the most beautiful place on earth. I'd really like to see it sometime.
I climbed ben lommond and I was taken back when looking from the top, It's probably the most beautiful place in scotland, and trust me ive seen a lot of scotland
so beautiful. just brings tears to my eyes to hear it and look at how gorgeous Scotland and life can be. I live in Canada but my dream is to go to loch lomond and play this song on my ipod or something. would me absolutely everything
If my grand dad was born 1871 and grew up in Tain can I lay some claim to saying Scotland is my home too? Been there to his house he lived in when he was born. Felt like I belonged there too!
This song is about two Scottish prisoners at Carlisle, of which one was to hang and the other set free, the older man said to the young man, “I will take the high road” and so the young man was set free.
@northman585 That is a theory but there is absolutely no proof of it and the lyric itself gives no hint of it being so. The Borders poet Andrew Lang wrote a Jacobite poem based on the song in the late 19thC - just as he wrote a Jacobite version of Auld Lang Syne - in which the narrators are in Carlisle jail. The story probably comes from that work of fictional literature.
Isn't it the most beautyful place on earth? We've been in Scotland for 16 days an went back home 1 week ago. It is utterly true, that we will have to come back to scotland. Just to see all the things we didn't see and to enjoy the warm and friendly Scottish people.
I just got home from a 2-week tour of the United Kingdom, and while I was originally excited to see England, Scotland was the one that took my breath away. I can not wait for the chance to return to see more of this beautiful country.
The first time heard this song, i was skipping through the pre-installed songs on a Yamaha PSR E303 keyboard. When i heard it, my mind was immediatly filled with warm emotions. It's as though i was taken to a peaceful place back in time.
Now, i just put it on repeat, and let it play through the night.
For me, it's a very simple melody, yet powerful in emotional content. I love it, and i'm from the land of hard core dancehall and reggae music.
you had perfectly taken the contrast of every colors...its a great video...im from philippines and i adore beautiful places...how i wish one day i can see your country
My grandmother used to sing me to sleep with this song. It has kept me afloat more times than I can tell you. Beautiful rendition of my favorite song.
the blood runs strong always and forever in our hearts a bit of heaven on earth a haven for the good a enchanted land that rewards us with every turn and every second God has truly blessed us
This video is Amazing! Lovely photographs. My wee brother, who died 5yrs ago now, lived in Dumbarton and drank in all the pubs in all the places around Loch lomond. He loved this place.
What can i say without chocking.....stunningly put together with brill photos and the best of music for the best place in scotland......makes me proud.....im never away from the loch.......but well done on this ..
