  • @cbenson196

But not good for someone else? hey, it's a fuckin' double B in drum corps.

  • aaaand i jizzed in ma pants... T_T

  • damn, shirtless guy was givin a nice kiss off to that blonde right in front of him by the camera lol ;)

what mouthpieces are you guys using, standard 3c's?

  • shirtless guy is one of our marching band instructors at my high school

  • 0:40-55 TRUMPETS OMG!

  • At the very end of the trio they go to a G but the second guy plays an F# during his bit of the trio.

  • Whats the highest note that the shirtless guy plays during the first part of the trio?

  • @NortheastAshtin i think it's an A above high C

  • This is one of my absolute favorite videos on YouTube. I am a trumpet player and I love getting into the heavenlies with high notes (cleanly of course). It is a feeling like none other. THIS TRIO IS INSANE. Those boy's are blowing!!!

  • This is great!!

  • Im a trumpet player in high school im a junior! My other two friends and i can almost play this solo BUT its soooo hard!

Hitting high notes is NOT that easy! We are sooo close to nailing it!!!

  • keep trying! you can do it!

  • why do the trumpets snatch their instrument away after hitting very high notes

  • its just a showy thing

  • Cleaner releases...It takes a lot of air to play high.

  • b/c when u play high notes on trumpet u feel like a badass when u do that and everyones jaw is still on the floor

  • part of it is the back pressure, some players heads hurt a little afterwards, this cuts back on the headache

  • Mostly it is to look cool. But, there is a certain type of release that it gives you that is pretty hard to get any other way. If you have the range, try it.

  • idk, i've wondered that same thing.... maybe cuz they're like... OOOH YEAH, i just parted your hair with my sound...i'm gonna snatch my horn down all cool-like. its just a trumpet thing i guess.. haha :)

  • also its an easier way to "kiss" the note at the release, notice when they take it away from their lips it sounds like they make a kissing sound.

  • Yup.

  • ME FASCINAAAAAAAAAA

  • does anyone know where the video about the cadets titled "bad day" is?

  • Do you happen to have the sheet music for that trio?? Or do you know anyone that does??

  • Seconded, I'd like to know too

  • amen two those two.. i want along also. if so.

  • I know what you're getting at and see where you're coming from. Here's another side of it, without trying to be so prissy and legit.

Ripping the horn off is mostly showmanship. However, it does serve a purpose for a certain type of release when taking things up. You should try it sometime.

This rehearsal was 1/250 indoors. The gloves are always worn to prevent sweat and residue from destroying the instruments. We're lucky to all be provided Xenos and we want to keep them in good condition.

  • in my experience trying to cleanly end a high note by just stopping air is really hard. But if u pull away form ur mouth it just stops and cleanly ends the note. they wear gloves because alot of times they do alot of hand maneuvers if i am thinking right, and wearing gloves takes sweat out of the equation and the chance of launching your horn half across the field or room.

  • they wear gloves to keep the sweat and oil from your skin from messing up the laquere and shine on the horns last thats why ALL of them are whereing gloves

  • you guys are provided with Xenos?!?! thats awesome!!!

  • Yay..

  • wow.this is why i love cadets..i cant wait to march with them when im a junior <3

  • i keep imagining the drum part the whole time

i wish i was in that auditorium that was awesome

  • I keep coming back to this video. This shows that people are really excited about playing instruments nowadays. You guys have A LOT of energy!! I hope the cadets will play something as energetic as this in the future, and come to Houston!

  • @antiswipe1 yes, Come to Houston!

  • @antiswipe1 i love your comment lol

  • @antiswipe1 guess you got your wish this year haha

  • omfg i have to watch this so i have something to keep me playing and the trumpet gods does that NICE LOVE IT very nice love it

  • amazing!!!!

  • I love the lead in the middle. His actions right after Lou plays are priceless. Way to be Cadets. Now if only they played this next year.

  • I presume you mean right before Lou plays correct?

  • that last triad was godly O_O.

  • nice....i wish i was in that room...

  • damn...*picks jaw up from floor*

  • Beautiful.

  • CHILLS.

  • hell yea

  • i am a trumpet player too and i bow too u 3 awsome job

  • same, the first soloist on the left. ur amazing dude

  • Wow. Classy...

...and please tell me that name is just for show and you don't actually march. I think we all have a much higher expectation from The Cavaliers.

  • u need to get yourself checked out.

  • fortunately the cavies are one of only two corps left who only allow guys in thier corps. i wonder why right.

  • good comeback.......man, you'll get a title soon!

  • hahaha ok, w.e. your just jealous

  • Wow. Nice and classy. This guys isn't from cavies they don't do that shit.

  • @HoboBob1 Shut up. Its good showmanship. nobody wants to see 3 guys stand at attention and play the most iconic trumpet lick of all time.

  • @NickRobo1994 I remember my comment being in response to someone claiming they were from the Cavaliers and talking shit on this video. I am definitely not talking about the video. This was before the @user symbol was implemented on Youtube.

  • @HoboBob1 ....... i'm going to allow this.

  • you know..... if you could do that you be like the best trumpet in the world....but seeing as how your still trying to find ppl on youtube i guess your not.

  • these guys played these parts for 6 or 7 months i think they know their music and how fast it goes.

  • awesome...!!!!!!!! give me goosebumps!!!

  • I dont care WHAT you say. Either way.. This sounds AMAZING!!!

  • haha I dont care how dirty it was, i love that trio

  • the black dude kinda plays those triplets really dirty and rushes them.

does anyone else have the recording of this solo? it sounds 325432 times better and different than how they play it.

  • I have the recording and it is better, but u have to remember this is PRACTICE!!!!! of course its not going to sound as good.

  • 16th 16th 8th maybe? thats what i would say

  • geez that had to be really really really really loud.

  • are you kidding me?

you obviously don't know wth you're talking about

  • wow, I got goosebumps. You guys sound great.

  • This video owns

  • I don't think there is any way to describe how awesome that trio is. <3

  • lou is the man

  • omg!!!! insane. insane. insane.

  • I think the Cadets should revisit this song in their 2997 show. Or maybe from the 1995 and 1996 seasons (my trumpet instructor was lead soloist those years). Gotta love the Cadets.

  • 2007*

  • 2997 too. :D

  • For sure.

  • damn...to bad he missed it finals
