Il n'y a pas un jour qui passe sans que j'écoute cette merveilleuse chanson interprétée par Neil Diamond qui a une voix incomparable. Merci pour ce moment de douceur.
This is a song for my father - for what I never told him - for what he never told me .
He was a carpenter but did not share those skills with me because ' he wanted something better for me. ' . Well, I did 'better' .... if that is the measure or criteria of success.
To me Neil Diamond is the difinitive soother of sad souls and I will always be greatful to this man for all his wonderful music and how his music comforted me when I lost my DAD !!
There is no question that this is Neil Diamond's greatest song. I played it over and over from the side B of Cherry Cherry. I think that I was about 14 at the time and at fifty I'm still quite moved by it, only now my own Dad has long passed and I have dragged one heavy oak table from Virginia Beach to Cocoa Beach, to DC, to Kilkenny, Ireland where it rests for my own children.
im 14 right now and i listen to this song my dad brought me up oldschool like this and this reminds me of an old drunk in townthat drank his life away :/ he died alone kicked out of his housse sleeping in his old flourescent blue truck on the sidewalk sleepin drunk on opld cheap colt 45 beer

Too bad this is in the wrong video aspect. It is a cool movie to promote a song long before MTV. Historical!

Neil Diamond is a God... he helped to save my life when I was hit by a drunk driver and my family and friends played him for me when I was in a coma.
