  • I grew up on Neil DIamond and this song sooo reminds me of my dad who sadly passed away in 2007....Love Neil Diamond :) x

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever! So sad and so true!

  • Il n'y a pas un jour qui passe sans que j'écoute cette merveilleuse chanson interprétée par Neil Diamond qui a une voix incomparable. Merci pour ce moment de douceur.

  • This is a song for my father - for what I never told him - for what he never told me .

He was a carpenter but did not share those skills with me because ' he wanted something better for me. ' . Well, I did 'better' .... if that is the measure or criteria of success.

But I really only wanted you Dad

  • i want to meet this man. somehow, someday... and hopefully, i won't be all "gaga and embarrass myself". seriously, one of the greatest.

  • @Othatvideo lol ive thought the same and mine would be a "i carried the watermelon" moment lol pure genius at work,an absolute DIAMOND

  • my dad is a rastaman and told me this is for me and my siblings love him soo much

  • @Amyrossee I am a Rastaman too but awwh this is good

  • May not be one of the best known songs, but in my heart one of his best. Touches the heart and soul. Thanks for the song.

  • If this doesn't touch you, report to your undertaker! Love you Neil!

  • Truly poetry put to music. He has an amazing way of connecting with people, bringing out so much feeling!

  • the best of diamond.. I cry everytime I hear this..

  • Yes he is a God is like be in heaven, i love this song and this man

  • To me Neil Diamond is the difinitive soother of sad souls and I will always be greatful to this man for all his wonderful music and how his music comforted me when I lost my DAD !!

  • There is no question that this is Neil Diamond's greatest song. I played it over and over from the side B of Cherry Cherry. I think that I was about 14 at the time and at fifty I'm still quite moved by it, only now my own Dad has long passed and I have dragged one heavy oak table from Virginia Beach to Cocoa Beach, to DC, to Kilkenny, Ireland where it rests for my own children.

    Thank you Neil.

  • Thank you for posting. I have not been able to find this for the last 30 years, until now. Many thanks!!

  • Too bad this is in the wrong video aspect. It is a cool movie to promote a song long before MTV. Historical!

  • Neil Diamond is a God... he helped to save my life when I was hit by a drunk driver and my family and friends played him for me when I was in a coma.
