  • put a cvt on it

  • @TheDigitalguyy what ?, don't you know? They already "think they" have one on it..

  • dude wat website can i get that motor i had a yanmar l100 but had to sell it

  • @tyleraph Ebay or Amazon

  • I went out for a ride on my CZ 6.5hp diesel last night. The front sprocket slips. I got a number 40 clutch and front sprocket for it and it doesn't quite fit the 428 chain. I ordered a 428 from England last night, about $80 including shipping. It runs great though I am really pleased. I am going to put lights on it next week. What size chain and sprockets do you have?

  • @Scootertuner1000 I think I am using a #40 clutch as well, but with a 420 chain to absorb some alignment problems (this chain i much wider than the sprocket) Its geared for 40 mph top speed, i think thats something like a 6.8:1 ratio

  • @McGeiver229 I got a comet torq a verter for mine now. It makes a huge difference. Top speed is around 70mph with greatly improved acceleration. I got it for $189 off e-bay brand new.

  • @Scootertuner1000 70mph for a Bike with a 6.5 hp engine is not bad. Torq a verter, eh? heard those were good.

What make of engine are you running and in what kind of bike?

  • @jackpontiac52 The TAV 2 gives you overdrive when fully engaged. I had a 12 tooth front sprocket and a 47 rear sprocket. The TAV was the model for 40 and 41 chains. I used a 420 chain (which is twice as strong as the 40/41 chains and much narrower than the 40 chain. Fits great. 70mph is after a long run up, about 1 mile down a very slight hill. On flat ground the top speed was more like 65mph. I was very pleased with the results. Just sold it. Am going to build a street tracker now.

  • @Scootertuner1000 Just out of curiousity , what is your MPG? They make a Royal Enfield in India with a Diesel Option. It gets over 100mpg, cruising.

  • @jackpontiac52 About 90 or 100mpg I think. I never actually measured it, but refills were few and far between.

  • @jackpontiac52 Oh the bike was an old Honda CB500T and the engine was a Chinese Yanmar clone

  • @jackpontiac52 Actually scratch that, that is what I was going to use, I actually used an old Jawa bike with a Yanmar clone

  • ahhh poor kawie lol little nifty motor though :)

  • Awesome!

  • In an another reply you said "custom" for the 96 teeths rear sproket , you start with what for this custom ring ? The front spotlight is connected to the engine generator / batt. ? ...and finally how does it hold in step grade ? ( knobby tire for the scrambler look or for utility ? ) thanks a lot

  • @cabaneen I had the sprocket made from scratch specially for the project, the lights just run off a battery, there is no generator, and it doesn't do well on hills lol. The clutch is kind of cheap and doesn't lock right away, so it doesn't fully engage uphill and overheats.

  • @McGeiver229 get a tourque belt converter

  • @dragata1 Yup poach a "variator" & clutch off a moden scooter in a breakers

  • I've got a gs400 frame laying around and a snow blower inneed to be repowered Which chonda diesel engine do yo have into your Kz ? ( size , maker ) . And about the tranny , we don't see the left side details in this area , seem to be direct cause the big final sproket . Your project seem to fill my need . Well done !

  • @cabaneen It does have a direct drive and centrifugal clutch, and I used a Chinese copy of a Yanmar L70 engine. Thanks for the comment!

  • @McGeiver229 THat engine has an electric start doesn't it? I am looking at one right now to put into my 1969 CZ 175 Trail

  • @Scootertuner1000 No electric start. That's a bit more expensive

  • @McGeiver229 How much was that engine. The Yanmar 6hp clones I have found all run around $539, but they have electric and pull start.

  • @Scootertuner1000 I think around 400 including shipping

  • That is the largest rear sprocket I have ever seen! So how fast does that thing go with that setup anyway?

  • @AceLockCo Top speed should be around 35-40 mph. The sprocket is custom made, and has 96 teeth for a 6.85:1 gear reduction.

  • @McGeiver229 OK, fast enough to bee-bop around the neighborhood. Cool project, nice to see when something like that works out in the end. Sounds like your clutch is making noise like they all do, they do have a 2 speed version you should look into, it might get you to 55mph or so.
