A HISTORICAL MISTAKE! This is a poem from Adib-al-Mamalek Farahani, published in a newspaper in Mashhad, around the end of Ghajar period, at a birth day anniversary of Mohammad, prophet of Islam. It admires Moslems achievements invading everywhere including Iran (maa'im ke az paadshahan baaj gereftim, ...) the "dark cloud" at the end (abri shode baalaa ...) is pointing out to Ghajar dinesty. It has nothing to do with ancient Persian empires!

Very interesting,did not know the history behind this poem.However,could it not have been a well concealed regret message of regret? i.e Farahani pointing out the the Arab invasion of persia and destruction of persian culture,hence a sad poem on the birthday of Mohammad?

It's right that this is a sad story. He sais we were this good, but now we are in such a bad situation. He asks for an uprising (barkhiz ...) and compare it to Kaveh uprising against Zahhak. They finally did it in 1979! And again we are in the same situation. This is really sad!
