  • Although I am sure it's been said a few times...tell within 3 seconds that this is clearly Waltz # 2, written by Russia's own Dmitri Shostakovitch. I am starting to recognize certain pieces just by the first few notes without lyrics, which I never could do before. I am glad my grandmother exposed me to classical my whole life, otherwise I would be missing out like that one guy who disliked this video.

  • I like this version better...it's stronger, with a nice waltz bounce...the others are a bit soft and wimpy

  • My favorite dance :)

  • The black/white footage does not exactly fit to the rhythm. Have you thought of synchronizing it?

  • Me too want this val!!

  • Splendid!!!!!! Perla.

  • Also, the end of candles and gaslight probably had something to do with its demise!

  • Eyes Wide Shut

  • Aaron1912, parabéns pelos vídeos postados. Sou professor de Dança de Salão no Brasil e regularmente uso seus vídeos em minhas aulas para que meus alunos observem as técnicas dos séculos XIX e XX.

  • Obrigado (:

  • Beautiful routine.

  • this is so cool i wish my fellow teenagers could be much more aware of the classicals and wonders of the past. Now they're all distracted by technology, that they dont even know who the heck Jane Austen is...

  • this is not the viennese waltz by strauss

  • It's a dance called the Viennese Waltz. Strauss composed songs, not dances. This music composition is called Jazz Suite No.2 by Shostakovich.

  • Espectacular.

  • very nice

  • I'm getting dizzy watching them! So beautiful though-who is the music by?

  • Shostakovich - Jazz Suite No. 2

  • @Aaron1912 Thank you :)

  • @koreamy Composed and played by Baron Harpsychord Von Moog.

  • @koreamy It's meant to make people dizzy. Here in Vienna it's still a very popular dance, the one dance people kind of master, even if they can't dance a single other one, I think. One of our comedians Josef Hader calls it "very tightly going in a merry-go-round". (*Ouch*, that phrase doesn't travel well at all in translation, but just think of the giant wheel and sparkling wine and being a little bit silly for a laugh.)

  • @jamesaugusta Well hello Vienna! I am in New York City

  • Thanks for sharing ! That's a very good dance !
