for one thing they were short on time and didn't get to play all the songs they wanted to. also, they don't play much stuff in their current concerts from the BSSM album because john feels his guitar playing was better after BSSM. in fact, after john rejoined rhcp in the late 90's, the only songs from BSSM they really play live are give it away and under the bridge.
