I served in Iraq in 2004-2005 as a Warrant Officer. I saw many of my superior officers place my guys in harms way for no other reason than because they were told to 'MAKE THE MISSION AT ALL COSTS' by their (Battalion, Brigade and MNCF-I) commanders. They did so despite:

1) Faulty equipment that was not Fully Mission Capable

2) Poor trained National Guard and Reserve soldiers who barely knew the equipment.

People got hurt, my superiors pathetically covered it up. I resigned my commission.
