Haha. Feel free to ask questions. I am happy to give my best answer. Not all AWD systems are constructed the same way.. When it comes to towing, go by the manufacturers recommendation. As far as Acura goes, they state that NONE of their AWD systems should be towed with wheels touching the ground. They should only be towed with all four wheels off the ground.
@7150285 No they will not. The rear differential is magnetic clutch pack controlled. Thats what allows this car to be able to split torque from left to right 100 percent. It makes for amazing handling in sport driving as well as an awesome low traction AWD. But when in Park and turned off, these clutches release.
@7150285 Yes I do believe they do. From what I know this is to maintain a high clutch pack life. The system itself is very smart. It even monitors driving habits and conditions to actively calculate when it has become time to change the differential fluid. It is built to help itself last a very long time. This is the reason for them disengaging at times when it is not necessary to be applying torque through them, such as when stopped at a light.

@7150285 In the SH-AWD system there is no differential lock switch or option. What you may be thinking of is the previous generation of MDX, which had the VTM-4 AWD system. That did have a AWD locking switch. But this system also used clutch packs and would release when the vehicle was parked.

I don't know. I don't find this car beautiful at all. Not only is it the grill but it's the V-shaped trunk, non flowing lines, the spoiler, rear end proportions, and so forth. The last TL design was sporty and elagant. This car has just gone to the ugly tree.
It's gained considerable weight (and it is heavy) and the 3.5 and 3.8 liter engines are underpowered when compared to the likes of Infiniti and Lexus.
This car has a 3.7L V6. The engines are not underpowered. 3.5L 280 hp is competitive because it lacks direct fuel injection that the lexus has. 3.7L makes 305 hp, 1 less than the direct injection Lexus. Only the Infiniti makes 330 but no one else does that but the Infiniti engine also suffers from vibration at high revs and a coarse sound. Acura's engine may not be as brutal in power, but it matches BMW I-6 in smoothness.
@xoquixxoqafxo I have a 1997 Acura CL 3.0 and ur right the transmission on alot of the acuras from those years did mess up. Mine is coming up on 180,000 miles and I always run it hard, everywhere I go. Guess I just got lucky. you can check out my videos if you like.

I totally love the way it drives. So far so good. I guess it depends on what your preference is. It's not gonna perform like the G power wise but it's handling is outstanding.

I don't know what Acura design engineer's were thinking when they redesigned the Acura TL; it's incredibly homely. It looks too cheesy with all the chrome accents and that ugly grill, my god!! The rear fascia looks even worse. The former model was nicer, imo.

I researched my car before buying it, and I love BMW'S but by far acura is the better car and a bargain for what you get. Just to get the power a TL has a bmw 3 series is going to get pricey. Most of the interior is letherette and not quality leather. Plus I have friends with BMW's and they regret buying them because once a problem starts they persist. I want comfort not balls to the wall type car.

The TL SH-AWD is surprisingly fast for a big car. It does 0-60 in the low to mid 5s. I believe its faster than the G35 sedans and probably just as fast as the new G37 sedan. I'm not sure about the G37 vs TL SH-AWD in times though, because there hasn't been much coverage on both of there times.
yes it is a desent looking car overall. But i just don't think for me i can get pass that ugly front "Grill"? I walked out of the Dealership because I of it. Now if Acura would color match the Grill? or redesign it? It might be more apealing to most everyone? This is what I'm hearing from people I've talked to also.

Presently, I am in the market to lease, and Acura TL SH-AWD is on of my choices... because of the significant bargain I'm getting basically.
That being said, I will only get this car in Palladium Mettalic (silver) or the color in this video.
In other colors, design of this car is just too much of a freak show to tolerate.

@BenFranklin997 Is Acura a mutli-million dollar company like the other car manufactures? Does Acura run from a small one stop location? Can Acura make a V8, V10 engine? Can Acura make Diesel? Oh yea no your correct, Acura can't do the above, no way, their a small company located in Japan. A big company like Acura are a bunch of bozos that dont even know what V8 even is.

@BenFranklin997 I believe there are some companies out there who value different things, such as fuel efficiency and clean environment. Some car companies don't see a value of V-8 + in society.
Acura makes F1 cars, the NSX was great for it's time, and to please some of you, they are making the 2011 NSX V-10. But anyway, it's ok... because you can't hear me over the loud music you are listening to in your BMW while an expensive German hooker is taking a dump on your chest. Auf Wiedersehen

Its funny how people talk about something and never driven the car or appreciate the quality. I researched my car before buying it, and I love BMW'S but by far acura is the better car and a bargain for what you get. Just to get the power a TL has a bmw 3 series is going to get pricey. Most of the interior is letherette and not quality leather. Plus I have friends with BMW's and they regret buying them because once a problem starts they persist. I want comfort not balls to the wall type car.

Most people who make negative comments have never driven one,
this car is a fine piece of engineering compared to the BMW ,which comes with no leather and not much else; the Acura is a major bargain in comparison .

@scanvids No its not. Its a fancy Accord built in Ohio. BMWs are precision engineering. Does Acura have anything like the M3, M5, M6? Like the Z8? Like the 850? Do they have turbo I-6s, V-8s, V-12s? V-10s?

@BenFranklin997, 'underpowered'? for what? 300 hp is all you need to get on and drive on the expressway. nobody is REALLY 'racing' $40,000 cars, no matter what they say. people who can TRULY afford the more expensive cars like the bragging rights of lots of horsepower, but never use it, because that would be destroying the car.
then again, thats for folks who actually BUY the cars, and don't 'dream' about them.

Nice care but way too many buttons on the dashboard. Whatever happened to the uncluttered/clean dashboard of the last TL? It would be perfect if it wasn't for all those tons of buttons which belong on an airplane not a car.

I'd say more people like the new design rather then hate it, you just hear from the ones that hate it a lot more!! Personally, i love the new design...only downside is it is rather large...It would be a 10 for me if it was a little bit more sleak looking.

The TL SH-AWD is surprisingly fast for a big car. It does 0-60 in the low to mid 5s. I believe its faster than the G35 sedans and probably just as fast as the new G37 sedan. I'm not sure about the G37 vs TL SH-AWD in times though, because there hasn't been much coverage on both of there times.

yes it is a desent looking car overall. But i just don't think for me i can get pass that ugly front "Grill"? I walked out of the Dealership because I of it. Now if Acura would color match the Grill? or redesign it? It might be more apealing to most everyone? This is what I'm hearing from people I've talked to also.

@jaymeymaddie I agree. I just got the Acura after having an Infiniti G35 and the Acura's navi is far superior. In fact, the entire car is far superior to the new G37. That's why I switched....

Acura TL would be the perfect Sedan for luxury, sport and seating for friends to enjoy the ride of course. Wouldn't you agree? Now as the G37, sure it comes couple & sedan. But I'd also prefer the G37 Couple because it's more sporty.

yeah you must not know. the only two acura's that have the newest and clearest version of their navigation system is the acura tl and the new zdx. It's quick, clear, precise, and large and bright.
