Woah.. The other day i saw one walking in the cut down corn feild att school I was like OMG Coyote! I thought it was cool.... but i used to have a little dog and at night when she had to use the bathroom i had to stand outside with her because we were scared of the coyotes getting her.
Cayotes do not custom to go in packs at all only male and female couple and stay like that for life. They are mating with wolves, how do I know this....well the guy said they were the same size of a german shepherd, that tells all. I would never keep a cat indoors. What a horrible life for any animal, trapped indoors their entire life, kept apart from Nature . Cats are awesome because they're so natural, more like wild animals than dogs are. Sure, they prey on rats, mice, birds, lizards - that's nature. Birds are not free of predators in any ecological niche, and cats are the main predators in suburbia. It's sad when coyotes kill cats, yes. But no worse than getting hit by a car. Real life in Nature is always risky.

@yoda55 I once let my cat in the backyard on a leash (tied to a wooden pole in our yard). I saw him playing with something and I got out there, it was a mouse. I tried to save it but it was too hurt and on its last breath (it really hurt me to see it die). I punished my cat (although I know it's not really my cats fault). So to answer your question, cats are my favourite (tigers especially) but I love all animals and care for them all!
Protect you pets! Fence the coyotes out! They are doing what comes natural. No different than man killing them. Coyotes have close knit families. They have a great love for their pack. They are sensitive and smart with deep feelings.

These coyotes know cat is good eating. We have them roaming all over my neighborhood. They shit in my kid's sandbox. I leave a can of tuna fish open on the back porch. When the cat comes up to eat, I slowly open the door, raise a long stick, and WHACK I have dinner. The meat has a real delicate flavor. I think it' better than chicken. Plus it's free. Saves on the grocery bills. Try it! I think you'll like it.

They stay away from my home as i have a territorial German shepherd that would snap a coyote in half, however, it wont even get that far as one of my .30 caliber rounds will take care of it.

We have coyotes in our area and they never go after cats. The coyote will only go after cats in urban areas where their own food is scarce. Of the two, I'd rather have outdoor cats than coyotes.

I tried to save it but it was too hurt and on its last breath (it really hurt me to see it die). I punished my cat (although I know it's not really my cats fault). So to answer your question, cats are my favourite (tigers especially) but I love all animals and care for them all!

It loves us more than any dog we've had and never forgets or forgives. I'm sure my experience is far beyond yours. I have 50 years of studying them.
