  • fuck i cant watch the last part in germany because of sme contend

  • @bmuralter That doesn't make any sense. I didn't lock out any regions. It must have something to do with the music.

  • ermmm.. a darksaber's blade is black :P

basically it's a lightsaber with the absent of light (black beam) :) sort of a weird thing, but thats the beauty with fantasy :)

  • @Fallerup The special effects tests of a black saber didn't look right so I went with classic evil red.

  • thats just a red lightsaber

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CHEEZY!!! But good at the same time :P

  • @awesomepat96 Yep. I like my movies like I like my pizza. With extra cheese. :)

  • The Darksaber is not like that at all, its a flat black plasma sword the goes into a point at the end, and it glows white.

  • I love the movies but the actors are being waaaay to glum and serious. Lighten up and have fun. :)

  • Great film. Bad hair.

  • @JawaPowerShowerHour lol, thanks. We wanted the hair to looks kinda 70's style like Luke's in A New Hope.

  • one question if there dark side users? why the green blades. Palpatine said "a Sith needs not a lightsaber. We carry them if only to mock the Jedi and there ways. And the Crimson blade is to show the hatred and rage for the Jedi"

  • @DarkGhost058 They were spies and they carried green and blue sabers so the rebels would think they were surviving Jedi. The opening crawl says they were sent by the rebels, but it turns out they really work for Vader.

  • While I love the special effects, I'm not sure Battle of the Heroes was appropriate music to use. It tends to connote different emotions than sith vs sith. Personally I think the song The Sith/Endar Spire would have fit a bit better for a Sith vs Sith battle, but that's just my opinion.

However, please don't be offended by my criticisms! I like your work regardless, great job! 5/5

  • No offense taken. Music was one of the most difficult aspects of post production. I tried various tracks for the battle and even tried editing together a medley of different themes. I finally settled on Battle of the Heroes becuase I felt it worked well for the action scene and the theme of betrayal.

  • dude wouldnt the dark saber have a black blade with a white surrounding, plus it would have a different sound when it clashes

  • That's how I originally envisioned it. I ran some FX tests, tried several different negative treatments and decided it didn't look good that way so i just stuck with the classic Sith red.

  • @kainkusanagi . Its fine that way. But b.lover42(pardon his username) was thinking what we were both thinking. If you could have, you could've made it black, like the one the Mandalorian used to fight Obi Wan in the Clone Wars, when he and Duchess Satine of Mandalore were investigating Death Watch. However, please don't take this as offensive. Your video was one of the best SW fan films I've seen! 5/5

  • @LopezFam4Productions Thanks, I'm glade you liked it so much. Maybe animation lets them play more with colors or maybe my special effects technique for the lightsabers just wasn't the right choice for black. I originally wanted it to be black with red highlights, but it just looked bad. I tried black and white and negative, and it always looks wrong. So I went with classic red. Sometimes you just have to do what works.

  • @kainkusanagi As in the famous words of Luke Skywalker; I know what you mean.

  • for a fan edit the Vader Voice is pretty good

  • ok then

  • do you have msn or email as i would like to compare a few things with you on star wars props

  • You might as well just PM me here on youtube. If you want to use email you can PM me your email and I'll reply with mine.

  • a 50.cal ammo tin hehehehe

  • All our props were built on none budget. The whole thing probably cost about $25 and that was for video tapes, spray paint, glue, and a few other cheap materials.

  • wait if they were frist jedis how did the one dude get sith powers if it was from that lightsaber thats bullshit

  • This is part two, part one explains why these two Dark Jedi have infiltrated the rebellion. As for the lightsaber, it's origin and purpose is also highlighted in part one. It is a mysterious and powerful item

The first part is going to be a radio style drama. That means audio only. The third and final part will be animated at least partially, kind of like a motion comic.

Part 1 is in production and Part 3 is in pre-production.

All will be available on this channel.

  • i liked the saber fight but i'm kind of lost in the story here..

  • i dont like it

  • Very well done! 5 stars!

  • This is cool stuff, but 1flaw, you could put the "DarkSaber" hidden inside the mines, not just lying in the grass 0.o

  • "Dark Saga I: Dark Rising" explains that, but it's still in productions. It will be a motion comic and tell the story of how the weapon was built, why things went wrong, and Kal/Sol's back story.

The reason only part 2 was filmed? It was the only chapter that could be done with such a limited budget and such few actors and costumes. Parts 1 and 3 will be less limited in what can be done on NO budget.

I should just release the scripts so people can see the whole story.

  • its a pity that you werent in the film

  • I'm the voice of the flight controller that tells Sol how to land. It was kind of like a cameo, for me. I only had access to myself and the other two for principle filming, so it would have been extremely difficult to write in a part for myself.

  • Hey I've always wondered

how do you make the spark effect when the sabers hit each other? I made a saber battle without the spark and it was pretty lame

  • It's not really a spark, it's a flash. It's just a few frames of animated round shaped light colored flash. I overlay it in Adobe After Effects and set it to screen. It's not complicated, but it's hard to explain without getting too technical.

  • I know pretty much how to use After FX it would really help out if you can tell me how to do it a bit more

did you use any plug-in's or just from the program itself

  • No plugins. Prepare in photoshop a blurry round light orange-brown-yellow object, import it into AfterFX. Use a black background and set some frames of animation to reduce it's size. Apply a blur that increase to the end of the animation. Render the movie and import the video file into the scene you want to add a flash effect to. Make sure to set the flash video to "Screen" so it looks like a bright flash. Adjust it's size and length depending on the scene you are editing. Hope that helps.

  • thanks a million

keep up with the videos! :)

  • you gotta say it *

  • Star Wars actually has a fiction weapon called. The Dark Saber.. And it isn't a lightsaber as portrayed here.

  • We were aware of the book with the similar title, but since "Dark Saber" is the subtitle of this chapter of the Dark Saga Trilogy, we decided to keep it becuase of the object's importance to the plot.

Thanks for you interest and insight.

  • No problem just letting you know incase you didn't. Don't want you cats to get sued.

  • lol, it's a good think Lucas likes fan films or a lot of people would get sued.

  • love the KOTOR music

  • Good ear. There's only so many tracks available from the films and most of them have specific emotional tones. KOTOR and KOTOR 2's music was luckily a perfect match for a number of scenes.

  • can you buy the soundtrack for KOTOR 1 &2 on itunes?

  • I doubt it. I got the music from using a moded Xbox and connecting it to my computer to transfer the files off the DVD. You could probably do it easier with the PC version of the first game, but I don't have it.

  • :( lol if i knew how to rip the music that would be great. actually i do have the xbox and pc versions of KOTOR

  • Dark Ressurection is a better fanfilm

  • This reminds me more of an original Star Trek series AWAY MISSION then a star wars plot.

  • This is probably the best Star Wars fan film I've seen. Great original story, acting, action, and special effects. You guys should do an Indiana Jones movie next.

  • I could never figure out how to do the light saber effect...teach me master

  • I've gotten that request a lot so I'm going to do a tutorial video. It may take a little time to do so you may want to subscribe to be automatically informed of when I upload it to youtube.

    Cheers, "Master" Kain

  • ok, hey why not the movie was pretty good

  • ...

  • :O k bueno

  • Muy bueno, los felicito.

  • Gracias!

  • hey I can talk German to!

haha ya I know its Spanish

  • Great effects, great story, great everything!

  • I'm sorry to say this - AMAZING as everything is in this movie - it was obvious to me who was going to betray who...

  • LOL, I guess we couldn't get anything past you. Actually the characters and plot were intentionally written to be easy to follow for all ages, much like the original Star Wars films.

  • With that in mind - you did an awesome job and I did like the twist at the end. =)

  • wicked sick man! i think it rocks

  • Very well made, I just had to say.

  • I think you guys did a great job of creating a side story with new characters while keeping it close to Darth Vader, the Empire, and the time between trilogies. Very cleverly written so you don't know exactly what side they are on until the end. I also like how you keep the dialog simple even though the story is deeply rooted in Star Wars lore. Some fan films get really chatty and rely on dialog to explain away inconsistencies. Excellent Work!

  • Thanks, that really means a lot.

  • Truly one of the best fan films I've ever seen. Top quality in every regard!

  • haha, its like Lord of the Rings Star wars, lol. GREAT WORK!

  • Awesome!

  • If you like DarkSaber you may like some of our other stuff as well.

  • BTW You used KOTOR Music!''

  • Good ear my friend! We used both KOTOR 1 and 2 music. I ripped it myself from the Xbox version using an Ethernet cable and an FTP program. Very few people have noticed those songs. You must be a true fan!

  • Yeah!!!!

  • Hmmmmm...The Dark Saber sounds familar and What Planet are they on?

  • It's a made up planet called Terieth. "DarkSaber" is the second part of a trilogy called "Dark Saga". In the first part called "Dark Rising", the back history of how the saber and it's purpose are told. Although DarkSaber was finished first, part 1 and 3 are currently in production. Part 1 will be an audio drama and part 3 will be an animated film.

    Thanks for your interest!

  • Cool can`t wait until the next Series

  • Thanks for the interest. Just in case you haven't noticed, (due to the way youtube shows related content), this is part 2 of the 3 parts of DarkSaber we have uploaded. To see the others just check out my channel.
