As of August, 2009, this sign still stands, but is in need of repair. A couple of the footballs were destroyed by a storm a few months ago and the transformer needs work.
Here's hoping it will be fully restored and maintained for future generations. It's magnificent!
Thanks for that cool post. I think that sign is incredible and must be preserved. Didn't know it still existed. Anniston native but Bham resident now.

Great times, Love the Goal-post-Bar-B-Q.
Chef salads were great, Just seeing the butcher chop the smoked meat in front of ya after pulling it out of the pit is an experience.
