  • There are no great opening themes anymore like ABC had in the 70's and 80's. It was more fun to watch the opening and closing credits than the actual show! lol

  • @Builttallny You're absolutely right, It truly was fun to watch the opening and closing credits back then. TV sucks now.

  • why did the world get so dirty and sad///? so easy to go back cant we?

  • I loved this show back in the day...hate that I'm old enough to say that. Thanks for uploading this.

  • I do not remember this show -- and I watched A LOT of TV in the 70s and 80s. I can tell by looking at the clip that it was on ABC. What day did this show appear when it was on?

  • @ldonhawk I believe it was on Monday Nights at 8pm. But that was 29 years ago and I was 5 years old. LOL

  • Robert Hays was really attractive! Wow!

  • to this day I will always doris roberts on this short lived sitcom....and I thought donna pescow was such a hottie.

  • looks lokie Doris Roberts has not aged since 1980

  • My girlfriend at the time loved Angie so I often ended up seeing it as well. Always amazed me that Robert Hays didn't die from estrogen poisoning; aside from the producers he was the only dude to be found anywhere near this show.

  • wow this show starred three people who went on to other stuff ... Robert Hays ( Airplane! and Homeward Bound films) Doris Roberts( Clare Tanner(Granny Tanny) from "Full House" "Marie" from Everybody Loves Raymond also she was one of the Relatives from "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation") Donna Pescow ( Annette from "Saturday Night Fever", also starred on "Out Of This World and also known as The Mom from "Even Stevens")

  • This was back when Philly was the center of the world. MFSB, this show, Rocky, Dr. J. What happened?

  • RIP Debralee Scott. You have suffered enough. Go rest in heaven, For those of you who did not know, she lost her fiance during 9-11, then died in 2005, probably of an aneurysm.

  • bhkidd, I hadn't heard that DebraLee had died. That's sad. Now I feel semibad about the comment I was going to make about how much her lisp annoyed the living hell out of me.

  • @lasktguy The theme music sounds kinda sad now that Debralee is dead.

  • This was Donna Pescow before her co-starring days on OUT OF THIS WORLD & Bob Hayes after his co-starring days in the movie AIRPLANE.

  • Hey, 100572a! What's up, dude? This clip is very funny with the dinner scene. Have you got my letter I sent ya tet?

  • This was a great show. Why isn't there anything on TV decent anymore like this?

  • Because that's the way life is nowadays, sad :(

  • I don't think it's sad.I do think that having a studio audience puts pressure on the writers to sink to the lowest common denominator for a good "laugh track".If the script is written badly, sometimes they throw in a "shock factor" just to somehow salvage the show. You can't beat great writers and/or an accomplished cinematographer.I will admit the theme songs were much better in the 60s and 70s : D

  • @ElJefeNLA Yeah. That is so true.

  • @ElJefeNLA I agree. its mostly reality crap shows. Well at least there is still Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Chuck and The Middle. Mike and Molly is kinda growing on me

  • To Daddy in Greenville, welcome to Philly.Wish you were here!

  • RIP: Debra Lee Scott.

  • is she dead?????????????????????????????

  • Oh, you didn't know?! Debra Lee Scott died from Comatose 5 years ago.

  • Sorry to hear that....She was funny. For my age I like them old tv shows better than the ones today.

  • Not as sorry as I was in hearing of Debra Lee Scott's death.

  • thats what i meant.......I thought she was comical

  • She was......believe me, she was.

  • btw your cousins sing GREAT!!!!!

  • Who are my Cousins rugged66?

  • Hey,maybe Philly can make a comeback! We now allow buildings to rise above Billy Penns hat!And it may be quite possible to have a sit -com that has a theme song!Maybe with lyrics and music, would'nt that be original!

  • I can only dream about that

  • Well let's get together and make it happen. Our only battle would be is getting the network execs to let us have an 1:40 second opening sequence.

  • Great point.

  • I always thought Robert Hayes was really hot.

  • Me too, I used to dream about him when I was a kid.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW

  • ...Alice!

  • No, it was Flo.

  • Lot of hijinks, I can see. I looove hijinks.

  • Yeah the shows in the 70's/80's were dumb and contrived but the theme songs kicked royal ass!!Charles fox wrote the angie theme song as well as happy days and barbarella. The guy's a great songwriter for a show that sucked.

  • IT WAS CANCELLED ON MY 7TH BIRTHDAY!

  • This show is satanic

  • How so?

  • I agree. Maybe I'm an old stick in the mud, but I still like the tv shows that were on in the 1970's and eighties better than the shows they put on today.

  • I loved these shows, but I also enjoy shows today too - but they have changed. The ones that I like best are on HBO - Curb Your Enthusiasm, Six Feet Under, SEx and the City - all very topical and funny and serious for today - but not on network tv. I do like The Office and 30 Rock now on NBC also.

  • @longcoolwoman63 I guess I am old stick too since I prefer shows from the 50s the the 80s and a few from the 90s.

  • Oh Angie. She never could get a grip on that whipped cream!

  • Just as poor Joyce (Sharon Spelman) always ended up being attacked by those pigeons!

  • @Scanshow LOL that statement is so funny in so many ways! LOL

  • @Scanshow lol I remember this show and I was thinking the exact same thing! What was it with her and the whipped cream??? :-)

  • nice show nice theme song too

  • I am from Philly and we were excited cuase it was the first sitcom based here. The show sucked but looking back on 70's/80's TV, most of it was dumb and contrived.

  • As opposed to today's TV were it's pointless,crass,and evil.70's and 80's TV ruled.And I liked Angie.

  • I wonder why this show didn't have an audience. My family and I watched it every week (maybe because we were Italian, like the Falcos). Where is Sharon Spelman these days?

  • remember lighthearted comedy? I'm tired of all the neurotc, dysfunctional characters in todays comedies."Angie" was a breezy romantic comedy where you lauged WITH the characters. I miss it and it's kind.

  • So do I

  • Can anyone explain a question I have: in one of the opening clips, there is a picture of a fruit stand and 3 people standing in front of it? Is that Angie and Brad? Or was it just a clip of Philly again? (I'm talking about the clip before Angie grabbing 3 apples to throw to Brad). Thanks!

  • I always though that is was Angie and Brad but in different clothes.

  • I guess it could be, but Angie has very short hair.

  • Maureen McGovern, who sang The Morning After from The Poseiden Adventure, had sung this song. She released it as a single, and it did moderately well (I think Top 20). I loved Debralee Scott from the show and I had a crush on her. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2005. It is a shame this show didn't do better. It was a fun little show!

  • OMG!!! I didn't know Debralee Scott passed away, how sad.

  • She died in 2005. From the sources I had read, her fiance was a NY Firefighter who died on 9/11. She never really recovered from the loss and she drank herself to death. It's very sad!

  • that is horrible, what pain she must have been in.

  • That is a pain that I could not even imagine.

  • Doris Roberts had once said that the cast of this show had kept in touch with each other. I think it's wonderful that even short-lived series casts would remain friends.

  • I've heard the same. She was in the hospital a few days before her death, then was released, and died. It's very sad.

  • LOVE the theme but they sure liked to waste food!

  • They don't like to waste food, it just happens that every member of the Falco clan is a klutz in the kitchen, especially Marie.

  • This was the first season theme..Second theme there was a little girl in the credits and played the part of shraon spelmans daughter

  • No actually it was the other way around. Tammy Lauren played Hillary, Sharon Spelman's daughter. The first season also had Diane Robin as Didi in the opening credits as well a little circle with the cast walking in and out

  • It premiered in February of 1979 and was cancelled in the fall of 80 after a season and a half. So definately not mid 70s. Awesome theme song, though. They don't make em like that anymore.

  • Shameful isn't it?

  • It was a fabulous show, with such talent, it should have been given a better chance. :) I mean, Robert Hays (Airplane!); Donna Pescow (Saturday Night Fever); and Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond); such talent there was!

  • Does anybody have the opening to the 1st season of this show?

  • I do, I just have to upload once I learn how to use this iMAC

  • I just uploaded Season 1 on Sunday. Enjoy!

  • OMG gotta love the 80's

  • duh, 70s. mid-70s at that. this is the best theme ever written for a tv show.

  • Well i remember it from the earlier 80's . Could of been from reruns or so . But yes it is a great opening song.

  • When I was a young boy I loved this theme song and this show.. Thanks to Utube, I can listen to the melodic theme song! Woo hoo!

  • I'm glad I wasn't the only young boy who loved this theme song. This version (2nd season) was my favorite

  • Me too! I was nine when this came out and loved this song. I remember it was on the radio for a brief spell. Don't know why this show or the song didn't garner more attention. Gotta love the net and the folks who post these gems!

  • I loved this as a young boy too. As a gay boy, I loved a lot of things like "Angie". LOL!

  • Season 1 was uploaded. If you like this one, you'll enjoy Season 1 as well!
