Your right, the dance sequence is very brief and I almost didn't use it because of that. But I felt everyone needed to see Bella Darvi's smouldering sensuality.
I have always enjoyed Carmen DeLaVallade's dance, in "THE EGYPTIAN". She is working with a full circular veil, not easy. She is in tune perfectly with the music and assumes a number of Dancer's poses as seen on the walls of tombs. The costume gives the illusion of nakedness, as the ancient Egyptian dancers only wore a beaded belt, which you can see under her veil. Beautifully done!
There is a "race film" called The Devil's Daughter that features Jamaican dancing. The film was made in 1939, and there was a lot of pelvis swiveling that couldn't be shown in mainstream movies of the same time.
I haven't seen this film but one of the trivia facts on IMDb for this film states:
"Like the other releases from Sack Amusement, this film featured an 'all colored cast' and was booked into theaters that catered almost exclusively to black audiences."
There were plenty of films with swiveling pelvises released by Hollywood in 1939, so one wonders why this would be controversial. Also, the Motion Picture Production Code, wasn't introduced until 1930 but was only followed by major studios.
the best thing in this movie is Bella Darvi the set is beautiful
and the costumes also but despite a lot of big stars of the fifties
due to a lack of action and the lack of charisma of Purdom the result is rather boring of course it's my opinion wich engage only me the cat is excellent tks for the vid pwgr once more
I was a little disappointed when I saw how short the dance sequence was and thought it would be a little disatisfying to only include that. When I saw how sexually charged the scene between Purdom and Davi is I knew I had to include it.
Personally, I thought Edmond Purdom did a very good job. He is one of those lonely cerebral academics, raised by aged parents, played on the Nile by himself, when he was not helping his father in the surgery. He is bookish and intellectual, the only thing that loosens him up is too much beer. As I'm A doctor, I have known quite a few men like that. They are perfect for medical research at home in a lab!

I've read Waltari's book!
Not as much dancing as I expected. But the cat was nice. That poor guy looked like he wanted so badly to follow her and pet her pussy......cat! LOL!
