I once showered and groomed this huge percheron stallion. When I put it back in the field, it started to roll in the dust and when he got up, he very distinctly smiled at me. When this same horse died, we covered it in snow to hide it from scavenging birds until we could did a hole for him. The other horses removed the snow from its head and stood around him as in mourning. And I'm not telling about seeing one of the mares masturbating.
Are there really people who claim that animals have no emotions? How is that remotely possible? Haven't those people very seen any animal act during their lifetime?
There is a video here on YouTube about a woman psychologist who studied an ape and taught it sign-language. The most astonishing result was when the ape was able to describe what happened to it as a child. When asked it made the signs for "bright flash", "noisy", "very scared", "very sad"..... turns out he was a little baby when his mother was shot while holding him by poachers, and he was rescued as an orphan..... shows how incredible their memory is as well...
@Arkthurius religious dogma is certainly a factor. Some people even say that laws that use the expression "humans and other animals" don't apply to them because of their religious beliefs.
Slowly the human species is realizing that we are nothing but animals, and have a sacred duty to protect our wild betheren. As the Abrahamic religions die, so will we come closer to thi ideal.
How about teaching a bunch of chimpanzees, gorillas etc sign language and leave them out to the wild. I bet it would be a great survival tool.
But of course it could go two ways. Either the language gets phased out within a few generations, or it can start to change. I couldnt imagine any noticable advancement for a few hundred years.
First one to dislike the video! :)

it took 'science' to reveal what all animal lovers have always known.

OMG people are just animals with a complex language system!!! jesus not that hard to understand
runswithlolwolves 11 months ago 23
@runswithlolwolves I would say it's the other way around. Animals are humans with less complex language systems

@Ember121Scorpio but the animal is the larger category

@Ember121Scorpio humans ARE animals (part of the animal kingdom), so it's the first way around.

@Ember121Scorpio
That's stupid because animals came before humans.

@Ember121Scorpio I would say its different from any of those. We are all made of meat with less seasoning.
