Primal Scream have provided the soundtrack for my life. I was in the Glasgow alternative scene in the 80's, got into acid house when it happened, and by the late 90's was burnt out! To me, Vanishing Point is their best work........
To superdrugs: I agree that GM is always referred to as having been a Stone Rose. But here he's exactly doing what any bassplayer should do: be there for the sound of the band, lay down a solid ground, define the basics of the music. He's the blast coming from very, very deep spaces, that's what makes bassplaying extremely cool.
Seen him on never mind the buzzcocks? They just got a gold record for Vanishing point, and Lemmy was sitting there. He walked over and give it to him, saying : Nobody else then the King of Speed should have this.
That's a line taken from Sam Peckinpah's legendary 1969 Western, "The Wild Bunch". Remember that scene when William Holden and the rest of the gang bust into that office at the beginning of the movie? He says, "If they move, kill 'em!"
Damn, love the brass! How f'n cool is this?

Main is an awesome bassist. He did so much more work with this band than the Stone Roses, but that's what he's known for?
