  • for a show filmed in the 70's u never see them wearing bell bottoms it was like they were out of style a few years in those days lol

  • @87camro well, after all, oscar & felix were in their 40s. it's like back in the 1990s you didn't see many 45-year-old men dressed in fubu jerseys and ankle shorts.

  • 1:17 YouTube video: Alternate intro/theme for "The Odd Couple" in 1973-1974.

February 26, 1920: birth of Tony Randall, American actor (d. 2004).

  • I want the other theme song, but without the storyline intro ... by the 2nd or 3rd season it should not be necessary.

The theme song here is kind of subdued and less brash than the other version.

  • music track does not match the footage...

  • if you want to download this vid go to my channel i have a video with the link in it

  • Although the music is really good, I like the story telling intro better.

  • @prausch65 The original theme song footage from season one has a woman sliding across the hood of a car and she's wearing a very short skirt and NO panties! When she gets off the hood, "WHOOMP! There it is!" That's why you can't find a copy of it.

  • @prausch65 I cant seem to find that its all the song

  • I prefer this version of the theme....alittle more mellow & jazzy than the other/others versions...it was well composed & played...I remember cause I used to go with my Dad to old school family jam sessions & for fun they'd play around with this tune...usually the electric piano or sax player(my brother) would start it up lol!...thanks for the post...brought me back

  • This version was only used on the first 2 episodes of the '73-74 season, it is the instrumental theme for the narrative ("On November 13th.....") that was used in the first 3 seasons.

  • @jed6271 WAS THIS THE FOUTH SEASON

  • the doorman @ 1049 still gets mail for "felix & oscar"...

  • Today 1049 park avenue is a co-op building. (it was converted to a co-op in 1984). I just saw on a real estate website an apartment in that building is up for sale. A 2 bed/2 bath apartment (with maids room, making it a 3 bedroom) and even a wood burning fireplace. The price? $1,595,000 (similarities aside, photos show that the apartment doesnt look like Oscars apartment). Another apartment in the same building, same size, same amount of bedrooms and bathrooms, is up for rent at $8000 a month!
