  • the lady singer beind reminds me of gaga!! urgh!! i have to wash my eyes again

  • Lindíssimooo!! *-* Amo esse cara!

  • Minha mae tava la ela era adolesente

  • no offence to the female back up singer, but my cat could hit a full note better than her.

  • POLACY POKAŻMY ŻE KOCHAMY DURAN DURAN! ♥

  • If you notice, Simon is on as usual; it's the girl who needs work.

Great version guys, loved this one years ago; still do.

    Very well written song!

  • Opions or like assholes everyone has one. If Duran Duran didn't want Lama there then she wouldn't be. In her own right she was a great singer. She's dead now and may she R.I.P. Atleast she had the privlage of singing with them.

  • love this song, but this is realy bad no harmony at all

  • i like the RED version better

  • who's the hot acoustic guitarist on the right?

  • @dragonnelite Warren Cuccurullo, who was in DD from 86 to 01. He's hot and a great guitarist.

  • That's not Lamya, this woman is pitchy and can't hit the notes Lamya did. RIP Lamya.

  • OMG I could do better then her loll...she is soo bad :-O

  • Comment removed

  • I see Simon is trying to create a different experiment, like musicians like to, no bad in it, you should have more patience!! stupids comments

  • He almost pimp smacked her at 3:08

  • she is lady gaga's mother

  • Rewind - she's singing melody where she should be singing harmony, Sorry :(

  • Yeah she's a little pitchy and she's singing melody in places she should be singing melody.

  • @TheBerkeleyBeauty you mean she's singing melody at times she should be singing HARMONY...but that's cool...we got your meaning!

  • Yeah she's a pitchy and she's singing melody in places she should be singing melody.

  • Wow could they have found a worse back-up singer? Horrid.

  • Why is this woman ruining Simon's singing a great song??? She can't sing, but she looks good, sounds like today's music.

  • a song for everyone who has loved and lost.Thankyou duran duran

  • I did get it right, They formed in Birimingham England in 1978. First hit was Planet Earth. Careless Memories Then Hungry Like a Wolf Save a Prayer. 1983 Stayed at the top all thru the year. Still doing concerts all thru 2011-2012 When 7 and the Ragged Tiger hit came Union with the snakes they were the best band of all Time. View to a Kill was later. Do your home work.

  • Is anyone else having a hard time finding the studio version of this song on youtube? It seems to be kind of a lost classic.

  • who else was watching layer cake before they stumbled upon this vid

  • I think your both wrong and I am older than 47 by 10. DD came out in the earley 80's and as far as going out there still going. Check there web site.

  • @Curtisp40E1 Im not wrong. He is. Get it right.

  • i case you dont know which you dont the female backing sing died some years ago....

  • @duxberry1958 Who was she???

  • If you think about it in the music video for this song, there was that echoing sound, I believe that's the effect they were trying to bring to life here on the stage. Yes you find her voice a little stronger, but it's the effect.

  • Lama died, At 25 She adds to this sound and as artist you should put her down. If Duran Duran didn't want her to sing then she wouldn't been on stage. Her music will live on as theres does. May she rest in Peace. Great Show.

  • @Curtisp40E1 How did she die???

  • By 1993 when they released this song they were way past their heyday and were well on the way out. I don't know why they kept on going for so long. I suppose it was for the money. I remember several years back they did a big come back concert at Wembley stadium and packed the place out. But they have now become like Status Quo a band who keep going just for the sake of it.

  • @ParagramTree On their way out? Are you for real? They were at the hight of their fame in the early 90's.

  • @miyan12 How old are you? It was in the early to mid 1980s that Duran Duran were at the height of their fame! I am 44 and can remember that their heyday was 1981/82/83/84. After that they started to fade out.

  • @ParagramTree Im older than you. 47. "Hungry like the wolf" was really bubble gum music as far as im concerned for this group. 1985 they had a great hit with the Bond film, "A view to a Kill". That was a great song. Then they reinvented themselves in the early 90's and was (imo) better, than they were in the early 80's. Such as this song, the depth and emotion from this hit, can't compare to the groups early work. Come Undone, is another bonanza of a hit with breath taking lyrics and melody.

  • simon's voice melts my heart

  • Muito bom!

  • i think shes hot

  • My father looks like Simon to much! :O hahahaha! Love Duran Duran!

  • Ouch Simon. So sorry.

  • God I love there music. One of the very best of the best groups of the past and still awesome.

  • mamma che bella!!! dopo 18 anni scopro che e dei Duran Duran

  • mamma che bella!!!

  • He does make a great performance. She adds to it. Not in sound but to the act itself. Layma was a beautifull singer and is dead. You want to hear gross try Pat Bentar and Precilla Prically. Layma was asked to perorm with Duran Duran. She died at 25 from a heart attack from drinking. Her performance was more than just singing with them. She was Eygtian. Listen to her album they she made before she died. She truly had talent. May she rest in peace.

  • Well she is dead at 25, She wouldn't be on stage if they hadn't wanted her. Her music is great. May she rest in Peace.

  • She is just backup. Love the music. Duran Duran is one of the best with or without her. Peace to all.

  • Way shes dead?!

  • Lamya is now dead. Show some respect. I think she adds a bit to the song.

  • @Raiderfn31 I agree with you. If Duran Duran didn't want her on stge she wouldn;t have been there. I didn;t know she had died and went and looked her up and listened to some of her music. It was great. Some people have no respect or act just a those that throw stuff at the singers on stage. She died to young and had a great carrier ahead of her. I hope she rest in peace. She was awesome.

  • да ужж

  • Luce muy cansado y envejecido en este video de 1993 , pero ahora en este 2011 se ve mas atractivo.

  • SUPERBE CHANSON QUE DE SOUVENIRS

  • i think she sounds great...........backing him. I don't get it.......why are people ragging on her...she looks hot and sounds great

  • @inkey2 she's too loud

  • @inkey2 she doesn't compliment him. he sounds so gently but it is about this special atmospehere he creates himself ! He sings so intimately, kind of personally, right from the heart. Yes, intimately and in a very delicate manner. She disturbes him and for more makes a discrepancy, disharmony. She doesn't sound that way, feel that way, different atmosphere. Different story!

  • lamya is freaking hot

  • he has such a nice voice. proofs he can sing live

  • Those of you who criticize the late Lamya will outgrow your ignorance!

At 2:20 Simon caught a resistant airborne pube hair, sputter-launched free!

  • She does a great backing voice.......Does not diminish LeBon's excellent performance, besides she looks really hot

  • She does a great backing voice.......Does not diminish LeBon's excellent performance

  • stupendi <3

  • She's got a nice ass!

  • who is the backing singer? i'm guessing it's roberta freeman(guns n roses world tour 1992) think she does a great job supporting le bon's quiet voice live.....

    ps what a great band

  • Great song

  • To everyone who's complaining about hearing the backing singer, lead singers sometimes 'save' their voice during the middle of a song by relying on the backing singer. Le Bon's voice in particular strains very quickly while performing and doing this during the song is one of the reasons he's able to hit those spectacular high notes at the end . . .

  • vetzekske

  • fuck vevo!

  • Can anyone blow this woman's mouth up?

  • 1of the best groups ever........

  • RED FTW

  • Does her mic have a mute button :)

  • One of the best grous of all time.

  • i hate it when people sing at concerts, i didnt spend 50 bucks to hear your amateur ass in my ear, i spent it to hear the real singer do his job!!!

  • La daña completa, por qué pusieron a esa loca ahí, con esa voz horrible que no encaja con el grupo?????

  • This song brings me to a very lonely time in my life when my girlfriend died in a car accident.

  • Incredible song!!! No matter which performance I hear Duran Duran do this song in, it's way better than anything being recorded nowadays!!!!

  • Great song - still as good today as when they brought it out.

Why doesn't anyone make great music anymore?

  • the beggining is soooo coool, with the guitar

  • Sorry for stuttering; wow, this tune goes DEEP for me:-)

  • @gluserty So it does for me 2---these guys were the best at what they did with this song..

  • This song always reminds me of a a friend, Jason:-(

  • Every time i listen to this song i feel happy and sad at the same time...something special about it..

    respect <3 duran duran

  • That woman's moans make the band sound amateurish...what a pity cos this is a great tune!!

  • @Retrodon25 I asked him, no he didn't

  • ...and to be more specific they started composing it for first time in 1991 when John Taylor, while they were in studio trying to compose new songs, caught some music notes which helped him and the rest of the band to compose this amazing song.

  • La chica que canta con Simon, sobra. ¿No sé qué hace ahí?

    Saludos desde España.

  • Somebody shut that bitch up.

  • @hogula I think she looks like a 19 year old brunette Gaga. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @hogula Disliked your comment.

  • @jawbreaker480 eat cock Paco.

  • Sexy simon

  • @rafox2000 i totally agree with you!

  • @Malibucompany Duran Duran?

  • Who wrote Ordinary World? Anyone know???

  • @Malibucompany I think it's so obvious who wrote this song. Duran Duran wrote "Ordinary World" as they do with all of their songs. "A view to a kill" was the only song that they didn't write and compose completely by themselves.

  • @vraouas1 Actually, if you check out the "Red Carpet Massacre" album, there's a bunch of songs that they worked on with other artists and producers.

  • @TsugaruClan Sorry, you're right. I forgot to mention their collaboration with Timberlake and Timbaland. Maybe because i didn't feel it was something important to me.

  • somebody kill that women please!!! :S

  • @rafox2000 Really stupid thing to say....she died two years ago her name is Lamya Al-Mugheiry

The people that did thumps up made also one big mistake, no true Duran Duran fans.

  • hahahaha...why???

  • @rafox2000 Yeah...she should have dressed more appropriately for the "company" she's keeping here! What's more, she looks ridiculous back there in her "nigguh" glasses! PLUS...her harmonies don't capture the haunting nature of the original, which was, IMO, one of the most appealing aspects of this song! Take care.

  • But I won't cry for yesterday...

  • I think this small venue ,playing of this song only shows they're not only a video band.Relasing this album for the 90's was a pleasant break from the incoming onslaught of rap-crap! D>S>Canada

  • @darylstillwell It's a TV show appearance.. Tonight Show with Jay Leno, if I remember correctly. I haven't dug out my VHS tapes in so many years.. but I am about 90% sure it's from The Tonight Show

  • Obozavam ih, obozavam ih, obozavam ih!!! :D <3

  • IN ITALY IT’S BEEN THE SIGNATURE TUNE OF A TV PROGRAMME- ON THE 1ST NATIONAL CHANNEL- ABOUT SEA, NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT CALLED “BLUELINE” (LINEABLU) SINCE 1993.

    GREAT DURANS!!

  • he still got a voice

  • Very enjoyable but nowhere near as intense as the original. The original studio recording is a tough act to follow.

  • yes i do

  • @universalheartblabla..u ruins ur sf,watch u tube videos and get a life,i guess u never make music,u suck,thats ur problem,ignorant idiot...

  • @universalheartthrob...If she's doing anything wrong, she's moving to the music a bit much. The focus should be on the lead vocalist. Saw this same problem in Carrie Underwood's performance on Jay Leno. A female backup singer had this little cheerleader-ish dance going on. She was a near-total distraction from Underwood. Strange, I never saw her backing up Underwood ever again. Sure, the musicians, backup singers, etc., are also part of the show, but there must be focus.

  • OMG that woman ruins it all... she really cant sing.. =-(

  • Woman is Lamya and she died last year from the heart attack ! Great singer!

    R.I.P. Lamya ...

  • @racyclebin Damn, I didn't know that. I have her first album as well. I hear that's the only one she released, and it's a good album. That's sad to know she died too early, and to think all these people are coldly bashing her.

  • Warren was clearly the best lead guitarist Duran Duran EVER had!

  • @Nostams He was previously in the band Berlin, yes?

  • @crapple009 The band Missing Persons

  • @Rudeawakening333 Thanks for that info- for some reason I always get those two bands confused with each other. :-0

  • Saw this live in Paris, those were the days!

By the way, who's on drums?

  • im new listening to Duran Duran... but the chemistry I felt while listening to DD was instant.!!! their songs are masterpieces..

  • the woman in the video was distructing the voice of simon

  • Love it Love it they are the best.

  • such a beautiful song

  • simon is so hot:)

  • i love that guitar in the beginning..

  • it's frustrating that they never do enough close-ups of John.

  • u see those are cokeheads, but great tune !

  • @kozzmozz7 I've never read anything about DD and cocaine. Perhaps you know something about it that I don't? Interesting if true but definitely not surprising- after all it is showbusiness.

  • R.I.P,lamya.it does not get more unfair than this.

  • she was not a bad singer.the sync priority between her mike and le bon's was not set rught, thats all it was...

  • Esta cancion es lo mas increible del mundo !

    PERFECT !

  • Background singer !!!!!!! :(

Was Simon afraid he couldn't sing the material?

  • The girl is fine ill give her that, but yea why is she singing she ruins the song.

  • the woman behind simon ruins the song

  • I am a lifelong lifetime Duran Duran fan and I love Andy Taylor with all my heart... but Warren really needs to get credit for all his brilliance that he contributed to DD while he was with them. WC may be a little nutty but he was, is, and always will be a brilliant guitarist!

  • the girl was from Kenya

  • o and by the way lamya al-mugheiry was a good singer sadly passed away last january age 35 R.I.P.

  • look up a band called arcadia a very good single. the girl died and i forget her name came from i think Nigeria

  • Questa canzone ha veramente un bel testo..

    è bellissima

  • Maravillosa la canción, un espectaculo, me deja enbevecido

  • Oh c'mon... somebody shut her!!!

  • ibahra, did you say this back up singer past away? I don't know her name. If she has that is very sad. I'd be sorry to hear that. But, thanks for letting us know. :(

  • @cmmacd Lamya Al-Mugheiry, R.I.P.

  • He's wearing the Tiger baby necklace. Someone on myspace DD page was asking

Katy about that necklace. ""That woman is their long time back up singer", I believe.

They are very fond of her. John Taylor said he likes singing with her because she doesn't mind when he's off key. LOL

  • this song is so fantastic for me, I remember when I was 11 years old, and I've played video game a lot nintendo e supernintendo,I'm got high with this music

  • To Msgoldendawn- damn close! I loved this band from the first - the lyrics and the videos were just soooo different from what most others were doing and that's why they've held up! I actually was lucky enough to speak to Simon a few years back via a phone call organised by my brother and his girlfriend(sailors) and I asked him (Simon) about some of his more obscure lyrics and he couldn;t explain them either ! Everytime I hear DD it just stops time !

  • Simon LeBon is the most beautiful man on Earth!!

  • They look great and sound great - shame Warren has left and Lamya died recently.

And she can sing - check her album "Learning From Falling"

  • simon looks like sir mccartney...

  • I'll always associate this song with a heartbreak.

The one who hurt me let me hear this while I was in Alaska as she see saw them in concert in Louisville. I'll never forget her: she should have gave herself a chance, let alone me.

    We can't cry for yesterday...

    ~Sad Song~

  • how about posting up Hall and Oates' Heartbreak Time

  • Bitch can't sing!!!

  • @gailfinn

     Why do bother to listen?

  • ...because this is my favorite Duran song...that's why!!!!!

  • I agree. she was like singing over simon!. how bogus!

  • last of the acid heads..!

  • I love the harmonies on the recording. I think they do great job reproducing them live here. They are essential, and are missing from the cover of the song by Red.

  • this is the firt time that i hear and i like it

  • the woman in backing vocal spoiled the music

  • You are quite right. but that's a whole different subject. I'm not even saying she looks good, I just like the outfit.

  • @leftyjcw

    ok...sorry!

  • nice outfit that back-ground singer is wearing. yikes.

  • @leftyjcw haha

  • go to live hard rock a better version

  • i"m for the ugly thing i said not nice i 'm sorry god bless all

  • OMG!! I am like so totally bummed. I had no idea Lamya (backup singer) passed away! She was my fave DD Backup besides Bj and Charmaine from the glorious DD 80's. RIP LOVE!!!!

  • @srlmort Yes, she did. Allegedly a heart attack with 35 years of age.

  • gerrrrrrrrrrrrr.............guitaris n vokal....symbol of sound

  • the guitarist hair is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! What a spoof!
