  • your delivery is incredible

  • "i dont want to get too cute on this problem." haha that line is what's cute

  • i love your writing

  • Thanks man, I've searched for hours, had my teacher explain and used my 200 dollar book and I was still confused. I understand it now, thanks a lot!

  • i love you so much. you have 200k subs and from what it seems, you can almost live off the money you get form advertising to 200k subs. but you dont. all non profit. you wanna help people!

  • Oh i forgot to say one more thing..you are one of the best teacher :)

  • Why does he say oh my "penis"...what is the problem with it??? :P

  • My names Dustin and it blew my mind when i heard him say my name:o

  • Mr.Khan, How are you so smart? and the range of your intelligence is so broad.

  • for question 6 wouldn't -4 squared minus 5 equal to negative 9? how did you end up with negative 1 if when you square negative 2 you end up with a negative 4? which equals to negative nine since you are adding two negative together which equals a positive. Negative 4 minus negative 5 equals to negative 9. Anyone else end up with the same answer as this guy? it does not make sense

  • @SuperBlackbeauty19

When you square negative (-2) you do not end up with negative 4. (-2) squared is the same as (-2) x (-2) which = 4. When you then take 4 minus 5, you get -1. So mr Khan is very right.

  • @banoabdulla your right, i forgot to put brackets when i calculated it.

  • big hand for you sir :) thank you so much.. really helpful like me.

  • Your voice is extremely annoying, but one of few in youtube that can teach

  • Damn gotta sit through 7 minutes of this before you get to some examples outside of the 5th grade. Then god forbid if you have to fast forward or rewind the sound cuts off. Man I really hope this is my computer or you got this set up like this just to be a prick and so everyone has to listen to that monotone voice.

  • @KeepItRBL I think it's your computer,. I tried fast-forwarding and mine works fine. Besides, if you click the CC button right underneath the time bar, or whatever you call it, you get annotations and you can just read what he's saying.

  • @sanbi221 Thanks, and ya it was. I was just being a grump my computer wasn't working right.

  • @KeepItRBL No problem. I know what it's like to have glitches in a computer. But if this guy helps me pass my trig class, I don't care what he sounds like.

  • Is it just my computer or do you have this thing set to not play sound if someone fast forwards? This is pissing me off.

  • thanx

  • @tadm123 No that won't work. There are no limitations on what you can input for the x value. Since there are none (#6 there are), we can then add anything. So lets say x=.1 then 1/.1=10. The smaller the decimal gets the larger the number. The same for a negative in this case. 1/(-.1)=-10. Hope that helps

  • f(x) = (x^2 - 6)(x - 2)/(x - 2)

I assume the range would be everything greater than -6 except (-2) but the answer includes (-2) because 0_0

Even though there is a hole at (2, -2), f(-2) = -2 too, so the range of f(x) includes -2...Somebody Explain WHY THIS IS! PLEASE!

  • wouldn't it be for 5.

    all numbers between [-1,1]?

If you put any number in there its always gonna be between or equal to -1.1

  • his phone went off

  • erm, actually Sal, the domain for Maria is no real/rational numbers, because she cannot possibly get any customers and no one would go to her for math tutoring when they can just watch your videos :)

  • It helped just not in answering what I needed lol but it did help me understand it better =D ty.

    Silly AIU and it's requirements.

  • This video is so helpful, thank you khanacademy.

  • The high i get from learning the concepts from him is greater than the high i get from smoking you know what.

  • you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find precise definition for range thanks for explanation I really understand it.

  • Thanks! I actually get it now.... :)

  • you switched up the ranges for 2 and 1 on prob six

  • Sal is awesome!

  • For question to 2 you say that the domain is greater than or equal to $15, however as the the range is greater than or equal to 0, 0 is a valid input she could work 0 hours and therefore receive 0 dollars, doesn't this mean that the domain is any rational number greater than or equal to 0?

  • This guy is soooooooo good. He made me stay off facebook for ten minutes and actually learn stuff!

  • believe me, i stopped thinking it was my phone at 9:19 lol . great vid, thx.

  • Does not sound like Sal : (

  • un-deh-fie-nd

  • Hey Sal, can you do a video on more than one variables? Like f(x, y, z) or even just f(x,y)?

  • excellent!

  • me too!

  • same here

  • I hate this new Youtube layout so much.

  • you are not alone
