I think it's cool how cities up north have a specific system as to how they plow their snow. It has to be exactly right, they have to plow it a certain way. Otherwise, they risk putting the snow in a place that will obstruct traffic or snow someone's car in.
You are a jackass, Warmer seas means more water is evaporated into the air and whats happens when water goes up into the clouds? It has to come down does it not? and when it does, it falls as rain or snow.Thus warmer seas equal more evaporation equals more rain and snow.
Unfortunatly, no. Melting polar caps = more free ice in the oceans further south than it used to be. Thus cooler ambient temps in the temperate zone for a few years to come. I would like to say pffft! to the concept of global warming but this actually kind-of supports it more than I can easily ignore. So far as all this being human caused? Meh. Silly human, what scientists are saying is that humans may be contirbuting to climate change by the release of industrial gases into the air. They are not disputing the fact that the earth naturally cools and warms on its ow thus causing the ice ages ETC ETC.
global warming doesn't necessarily mean consistently warmer temperatures- it will result in more extreme weather and a highly unstable climate. we're already seeing this with record highs and lows in temperature, droughts, floods, hurricanes etc. worldwide. Snowfall isn't going to disappear, its just going to become more unpredictable. wowamonn wasn't completely correct in his comment but you need to get your facts straight before you troll others.
the fact that there were periods of warming before isn't a valid excuse to not change bad habits.
obviously changing the chemical makeup of the earth's atmosphere is going to render an effect on our climate. your meteorologist was probably paid off by an oil executive, much like doctors were paid to endorse cigarettes back in the 50's.
You're right, the climate has changed before, but with that change came natural selection; everything that couldn't cope with the shift died
