  • The Lyrics were collected by Child in the 19th century and is ballad number 113.

Waters did come up with the tune used here and it did the rounds freely in Boston before Baez picked it up. At that time tunes were going hand to hand without personal recording devices so I doubt it was traceable back to Waters who didn't seek a copyright until much later. I would love to find the original 19th century tune.

  • I love you guys. Thank you for so much beautiful music you both individually and together have shared thru all your efforts. Never underestimate how much you help those of us who are aspiring thru our Harp music. Especially if live in no where land.

Aryeh your playing and arrangements brought Selkie truly to life for the first time in its existence. And I think I have all your versions. Lovely to listen to but Oh what a bugger to play off the sheet music Harper's Brew : )
