  • Chuck Norris would do this in 3 minutes

  • House of wood? *readies flint and steel*

  • 3 1/2 hours? Please try to get that done yourself. Your going to spend more than three and a half hours doing paper work trying to get you house inspected by code enforcement.

  • didnt you guys learn anything about three little pigs. house made out of wood? in the uk we make ours out of BRICKS

  • @dangifurget Yeah, I totally get all of my construction advice from nursery rhymes. :P

  • @Qaddosh LOL Old mother Hubbard told me wood homes are safe. Jack be Nimble and Jack be quick both warned me of a lit candle stick. Then again some old lady told me just live in a shoe but don't have too many kids . Hope this helps if not not contact Georgie Porgie Pumpkin pie @ 999 - 999 - 9991

  • just dont cry when the wind will blow it away.

  • It took the experts... less than 4 hours!

Now how will Canada's worst handymen do it?

  • its great that they built it for someone who doesnt have a house ! i would be grateful is someone built a house for me for free man

  • did u learn nothing from the 3 little pigs ppl!

  • That's the kind of houses blown by tornados.

  • they just use frefacricated shit. In Norway we BUILD the house. We don't put it togheter like lego

  • @krollaostmedburger in norway some people buy prefabs from sweden and just chuck the walls up finished. Har sett det mange ganger!

  • @ioslen Noen gjør det ja, jeg syns det er tull

  • f...... paper house ... hehehe stupid american bigmacs

  • to the people that gave a 1/2 of your day to change a persons life forever

may love peace and joy fill your lives forever

  • hey how about you guys build me a house for free, just to break your own world record?

  • The world record for the fastest house is 2 hours 45 min. The Building Industry Assoc of San Diego County held a contest in 1983. Four 1500SF 3bd2bath houses with landscaping were constructed with the last two build as a race between two 350 person teams. A video is available from the building assoc.

  • Aluu

  • oh FFS... all you sad, pathetic overpaid couchsurfing know-it-alls need to learn a thing or two about charity.

  • That shit was pre assembled I want to see them build a real house

  • it's interesting.

the benefit from this video is take your time with PLANNING.

  • I would laugh hard if it fell over after the big cheer at around 1:58

  • @Trumpeteer-

The house didn't take 4 months to build; there were no tricks or dupes in this. Watch the video again, and take note that the forestry doesn't change, and that this never shifts to night.

  • American quality at it's best. Would you want a house built in a day?

  • let me go throw a rock through it

  • Wow, what a bunch of cynical, miserable people you commenters are. What's the matter, this place looks a whole lot better than the rundown, dilapidated trailers you live in? Jealous a little? Why don't you drag your sorry butts away from the tube for five minutes and do something for someone else. Might improve your moods a little.

  • Well I certainly hope those three fat asses Bonnie, Drone and Jackie lost some weight in that amount of time. lmao

  • yep i bet the dam thing did fall apart lol

  • I think the fastest stick build house NOT prefab is 6 hours 45 mins with 300 workers with all the stuff laid out 2x4's all the borads siding, fast drying cement Truck for the foundation ect... at the starting line

  • you know..

  • i bet that house fell apart the next day...lmao

  • Wow that as fast, every time they do one like that im too busy to go watch, id love to see one being built with a beer in one hand and sitting on a lawn chair lol ,

  • I don't think I would want to live in a house that 100 other under qualified people slapped together in the fastest time possible.

  • what a bunch of crap, how long did it take to prefab everything,, does this time not count, how about delevery time from companies, yard sorting and misc time spent designing, organizing ect, add up all the officail times and your talking reality, i like what the company stands for, just give us the real deal and not the bull. congrats

  • yeah i agree with you on that... they were only adding up the time spent actually erecting the house and what not and not all the others... delivery, etc....

  • Followed by Habitat for Humanity shortest lifespan for a house before it falls apart World Record.

Really though its not too hard if everything is prefab, 100 laborers, and every contractor for the job shows up at the same time.

  • that house will probably fall when you slam the door

  • lol i also think of that

  • how could that fell safe.

  • Look how many ppl was working on the house. Plus, it s a pretty small and cheap quality house. ( for exemple, no concrete foundation )

  • How awesome! :)

  • now come and build me one please :)

  • This isn't the record house. That was built in 1979 in two hours and 45 minutes.

  • Hey say what you want but that was an awsome experiance...I worked for Rives Construction at the time and I was on the wall crew...we had one day of prep to get a pattern for how we would do all that. Then I helped set the roof in place, insulate the attic and lay sod in the yard.....I'll never forget that day...still got the t-shirt hangin in the closet!!!

  • According to a video by ManicTrader How to Build a House in 3 hours pt2 the time for fastest home built is 2hr 53min. I dont know which one was first but they used drywall and landscaped the home.

  • while I agree with the efforts and will of the charity, I don't think this deserves the prize of fastest house. Atreyu is right, why not just drop a "prefabbed" house down? What I wanna see is you guys have an acre of forest, you can cut down trees, maybe cut up some rocks, build a freekin' castle... K GO *SHOOTS GUN*

  • There is also no sheetrock in the house because it would have taken too much time for it to set and dry and be sanded. The ceiling is made of MDF. But none of would have been possible without the Associated General Contractors and the dozens and dozens of contractors who volunteered their time and equipment and money, as well as Alabama Power and Lowe's.

BTW, the voice at the end of the video announcing the time is mine.

  • I was in charge of this project. It took months to plan. And no corners were cut. We operated with a set of critieria established by previous Habitat speed-building projects. The foundation wall and decks were built ahead of time, per the rules. We were also allowed to run any wiring, plumbing, etc. under the deck. The walls were pre-fabbed but not assembled. We started with the walls stacked on top of the deck.

  • well.... damn.. ok i can break this record with my ass straped down. ill rip up a small villa with a crane. take all the eletric into one freakisly large plug. stick it in the ground. drop the house. BAMM 2minutes!!!!

  • I've seen this video a very long time ago, but still awesome... just, it was plain house build in fast-motion, not some close captures of the guys building it....

By the way... I love the music used on the credits and when they are building the house... does anybody know if it is avaible somewhere?

  • it's all pre-fab. They only stuck it together in 3 hours

  • sweet... imagine if that kind of commitment were available to help house all of the poor.

  • If any of you have ever lived on the streets before, you would be quite happy with a house like this. I guarantee.

  • the house was pretty much already built, it was shipped in prefabricated components. Did you see the roof go on?

  • must have the world record fastest inspectors too. Sure like to find on of those.

  • yea with 5000 people helping

  • no foundation. not telling how many steps they skiped to make a house in 3 hours.

  • A tornado could probably knock that house down from a mile away! The record is false if you take into account the months of planning, prefabricated walls, the foundation, and not to mention the 200+ labor force. Bullshit!!!

  • the record is house, they did it, but I made a house out of popsicle sticks in half an hour, that should be on here

  • lol that would blow away. No blocks?

  • habitat for humanity building houses for all the black people you get some mexicans and amish people and they could build a house faster than that

  • you know what sucks? this house took only 3 hours (awsome!) and when other people do it they take like 6-8 months lol

  • how awesome to see people using their different strengths, working together as a team, accomplishing so much, to bless that family.

  • how fast did it fall down after?

  • Awesome. Be sure to record it so we can see your accomplishment.

  • That's cool, i will be waiting for your video ;)

  • Great job Habitat!

  • no longer this is the world record

in east texas we built one on 2:52:29

    top that betoch

  • I would expect no greater eloquence from a 16 year-old. By the way, what is a "betoch"?

  • It doesn't look like they brought any trades in; plumbing, electricians, low voltage, hvac... It would make a nice vacation cabin... maybe.

  • all the pre fabricated parts took more than than three hours plus to build its no record to me pre fabricate a whole house in a factory and drop it on the block thats faster.

  • how much did those people get for building the house? nothing???I work just for money not free

  • Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit charity. They work for free.

  • @Qaddosh some people are actually professional contractors that are paid

  • @Qaddosh after they get done its back to the homeless shelter to eat bad soup paid for by people that work for money.

  • WOW, why don't we apply all that passion, technology & ingenuity to cleaning up and rebuilding New Orleans.

    Can U just imagine ??

Three cheers for the HFH !

  • thats freaking amazing! these guys should build homes for a living imagine leaving for work in the morning and looking at an empty lot across the street only to come home and see a brand new completed house there!!

  • Wow... Wonder what they could do over in New Orleans: 9thward specifically

    katrinacaseDOTcom

  • Still a cool feat. :-)

  • People will only accept fast computer technology but not in other fields even seen w/ their eyes. They refuse to believe something of good quality can be put up so quickly.***For you old fashioned pc356 minded folks who can only accept the old ways of life; kindly step aside and allow the 3million gig memory and 10million gig harddrive thinkers proceed and advance in life. For those who think impossible they are right!!!! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM.

  • You have to take into account how many people they had working too. That and it HAS to be cheap, its H.F.H. for God sakes, its had to be affordable to families who don't have home or can't afford a nice one. They are going to take what they can get

  • Half of you cannot even construct a grammatically sound sentence; if only ignorance were as silent as it were bliss...The house is 15 mins. away from my house & is still enjoyed by the original owner, a friend since I planned the constr. of her home, w/ the help of 75+ qualified sponsors and the final appr. of a cty. home insp. Ms. Lily is grateful to own her "speedy" home, as prior to its constr., she had NO home. It just goes to show how easily the "have's" THANK NOT.

  • why are they arguing about someone trying to have something decent? Jealous can blind many on lookers. It proves that ignorance can fry our brain and make us forget about what is good.

  • you don't know but the day after the house falled... lolll its a joke but i think she can be more solid ;)

  • The presuppositions of those who would anathematize such a magnanimous operation are an etiolation.

  • Mommy buy you a dictionary for your birthday? You sure are trying hard to look intelligent.

  • I'd rather be a smartass than a dumbass.

  • of course it only took that short amount of time, it doesn't take a long time to make a piece of shit!!

  • mostly modular const? last i knew adhesives, caulk, paint, & drywall mud, require 24 hrs. to cure. not to mention inspections for electric, plumbing, hvac, rough framing, foundation, final grade, drywall, backfill, footings, septic system or sewer tap, well or community water source. yeah, i'm sure that house will still be standing in 20 yrs.

  • very fast making the house,,

    seem look alike a AMISH,,

  • It's mostly a modular construction. Not a frame-house per se.

  • nice
