Cisco may have a good technology platform with UCS. They however need to figure out how to market and sell the UCS like a server company. Don't get me wrong, Cisco knows how to sell networking gear. Selling servers and competing with HP and Dell invloves a completely different approach and strategy
Actually I would argue that Cisco needs more technology. Not marketing. Cisco Drove IPTel because they had a superior product which was more compelling and cost competitive. They need to get back to innovation. Not stealing preexisting ideas in the IEEE and IETF and pushing them to market. Not hating, just applying a little critical thought. I encourage everyone else to do the same. And by the way, exceptions don't make the rule. How many people who were predicted to failed actually did. :)
Oh - and this should have included all the quotes from Avaya/Nortel/Siemens back at the turn of the millenium about Cisco being "crazy" for thinking "voice will be free" and hanging their hats on IP Telephony. Those idiots thought traditional PBXes would last forever.
Nice video, but considering Cisco's UCS is approx 28 point margin and their operating margins are approx 70, they actually hurt their bottom line everytime they sell a server. Not sure how the stockholders will feel about that...
Amazing to see how leaders predict wrong and they are also part of success. I am sure these leaders have diversified portfolio, including Cisco. ;)

Not too sure about the Gates quote - the max RAM in the original PC was 1M, which was what I believe Gates thought to be "enough."
