It takes longer to do a fouettés than a tour à la seconde. The fouetté is composed by 3 movements, the tour à la seconde by 2. It is not a fair competition...

Both male and female hostes understand NOTHING about Ballet, neither about the differences between a ballerina and a male ballet dancer. That girl was such a graceful ballerina they humiliated in a ridiculous challenge.

It does not matter what type of shoes you use to do ballet jazz or any type of dance a dancer is train to dance in any type of shoes to do any type of dance this does not give the girl a disavagte because if you don't know it is easier to do fuetes in point shoes bechase of the way it is so this does not applie has a disavagte overall i think they both did a great job im glad that the guy won!
Ok ^___^ some people agree and some people i don't agree with Ok 1. It was a little on fair that he was doing la second turn instead of fuetes but... i know he could of done those to by seeing his muscles and his spotting and how he cleas before he spin you know he can do those to!!!

At the end of the day the guy is amazing at turns in second, not necessarily fouettes, but considering how good he is at those, I don't have a doubt in my mind that he would have been equally as impressive doing real fouettes.

And guys almost never do pointe so to ask a guy to do pointe would be insane. Guys aren't built to do pointe. @Fantage90210 He was doing fouettes a la secondes. Girls aren't usually taught them in ballet, but they use it in other dance styles for both genders.

Both male and female hostes understand NOTHING about Ballet, neither about the differences between a ballerina and a male ballet dancer. That girl was such a graceful ballerina they humiliated in a ridiculous challenge.

2. It does not matter what type of shoes you use to do ballet jazz or any type of dance a dancer is train to dance in any type of shoes to do any type of dance this does not give the girl a disavagte because if you don't know it is easier to do fuetes in point shoes bechase of the way it is so this does not applie has a disavagte overall i think they both did a great job im glad that the guy won!

Ok ^___^ some people agree and some people i don't agree with Ok 1. It was a little on fair that he was doing la second turn instead of fuetes but... i know he could of done those to by seeing his muscles and his spotting and how he cleas before he spin you know he can do those to!!!

People argue that the girl did it on pointe, but she could have done it in soft shoes, it was her choice. At the end of the day the guy is amazing at turns in second, not necessarily fouettes, but considering how good he is at those, I don't have a doubt in my mind that he would have been equally as impressive doing real fouettes.

such an unfair competition , yes they were both doing fouettes but she was doing it on pointe and from reneve he wasnt and he had soft shoes , in all fairness i know principle dancers are mainly on pointe but if they had both been in soft shoes and doing the same fouette it would have been more fair , im not saying the girl would have won im just saying she had a lesser chance because it took her longer as she was having to snatch up onto point wheras he was only demi... rematch i think...

In fairness, she was on pointe, making it harder, and they were doing different types of fuettes, and his were so much easier to do quickly.
They should have put them both in soft shoes and had them doing the same type of turns.

I didn't want to comment, but he actually is doing a fouette, just a different type. The competition wasn't fair, but she didn't have to wear pointe shoes. And guys almost never do pointe so to ask a guy to do pointe would be insane. Guys aren't built to do pointe. So go ask someone who knows what they are talking about (i.e. a ballet instructor) about the different types of fouettes before putting your 2 cents in. and just FYI yes i am a dancer!
