  • Great video, but how do I set up a botton so that when it is clicked my movie goes back to frame 1? I have a map set up and when the user clicks on something a litle movie clip appears with info, but I need a back button for them to return to the original page. I know it has to do something with gotoAndStop(1); but I'm not sure where to put it. Any help would be great, thanks

  • i can't apply any actions to my buttons, it only allows me to put the actions on the frames.. HElp please!! i'm going crazy.. thanks!

  • Lol I figured it (or so I think). I was in CS3 (still am) under actionscript 3.0. You want to use 2.0

  • THE REASON WHY YOUR ACTIONS ARE NOT APPLIED TO THE BUTTONS IN CS3 IS BECAUSE WHEN YOU STARTED YOUR DOCUMENT, IT'S SET TO ACTIONSCRIPT VERSION 3.0 BY DEFAULT

    The way round this, is to go to 'Publish Settings' in the 'File' Menu and select Actionscript 1.0 or 2.0

    Then you can apply actions to items just as you would in older versions.

    By setting Actionscript version to 1.0 as a default in your document settings on creation of your flash animation will avoid this in future.
