This party needs to be more realistic. There's definitely room for a libertarian direction in the UK which the conservatives aren't occupying, but if you propose getting rid of the NHS and leaving the EU nobody's going to support you. Things like opposing HS2 are the type of things we need to be combating atm.

"I guess i'll have to deal with that" was not really a good libertarian answer. You should have said something like "I have chosen to pay for my university education to better myself and my career prospects to improve my quality of life in the long term".

Interesting. It is odd that it is easier for an Independent or a minor party candidate to get on the ballot in the UK, then the USA. Prairie O.A.S.O.S.does not endorse candidates or parties, but we do have a section on the UK and if you can think of suggestive links for us to add (i.e. libertarian commentators, bloggers, etc) especially as it applies to sexual orientation and gender identity issues, feel free to contact us.

Somalia is the result of Islamic fundamentalism,corruption, and an over complacency of hand-outs from the West that they cannot function for themselves. used to be like that not any more, I think the worst thing is monetary policy AKA printing money, as it transfers wealth from all those who own that currency, those who benefit are the ones get the new money, mostly government and bankers

the ones who lose out as moneys is less and prices rise faster than wages follow are wage earners, consumers, savers, worst hit probably pensioners.

what we need is falling and increasing wages I think free markets would bring that, like in the 19 century.

GREAT to see a Libertarian party at least in the UK. After my membership with my party expires next year, I may join the Libertarian party, as they are most related with my political bliefs. The UK NEEDS a Libertarian government, because all that Labour have done is abused and taken away our rights, liberties and priverliages (like airsoft).

I think, as a prospective polititian, he should learn to say 'other' rather than 'uvver' and 'with' rather than 'wiv'. Especially as he is putting on a clipped English accent, which slips near the end of the interview.

The party has some great policies: Anti-Iraq war, Anti-Afganistan war. They want to reduce immigration. They want to bring back guns to the UK.

You might say the BNP is similar, the problem is the BNP is racist, correct? Also the BNP is pro-taxes and the Libertarian party is 100% opposed to taxes. So in many way they're different from the BNP.

So that leaves me with the UK Libertarian Party. Great party.

I think any similarities between LPUK and the BNP are incidental.

The BNP is far more like the traditional mainstream parties in that it believes in Government control of the population. It is fundamentally different to LPUK.
