This game is pretty unique when you think about how HoN is a complete copy of Dota except worse and LoL is unique compared HoN vs Dota, I'd say it's as unique as LoL is compared to HoN vs Dota. I'ts actually pretty fun and competitive, the map is actually symmetrical unlike HoN/Dota, and the map is just fantastically made. the pathing could use some work though >.>

If I were comparing the closed beta to LoL I'd say LoL is better overall but, they both have their niches and RotT is def worthatry

DotA is created on WC3, true. But there was a predecessor: Aeon of Strife. Look it up (Wikipedia is one source of info):

Starcraft is different to Warcraft because Starcraft doesn't have a hero concept, that came in Warcraft. In fact DotA is a modified game on the Warcraft engine and is still played using the Frozen Throne Warcraft expansion. DotA and it's predessors were all Warcraft modified games. That said arguably Warcraft stemmed from Starcraft both which are Blizzard products.

Looks like a standard DotA clone rather than an LoL clone. o_O; Neutral shop, for example, sounds more DotA-ish to me, similar to their secret shops. Besides,  DotA clones aren't clones at this point - it's the standard for the niche game type that it created.

Either way, the game is run by Aeria. They do have some decent games - I had a soft spot for DOMO for a while - but the entire company is kind of shoddy to me, so I don't have any high hopes for this thing.
