For everybody's knowldge, i've always been pope JP II follower, though i have nothing againts pope benedict xvi and it was still nice seeing him at the last wyd, i was still kinda hoping that it was still JPII who took hold of the 05 wyd.. it was sad that i wasnt able to see him when he went here in the Philippines.. I believe you are correct. I have been doing my research. There is an excellent video here on Youtube by BBC called "Sex Crimes and the Vatican" 4 parts. You can see it all in one at Video Goggle 39 mins. It covers a lot of ground most of which is really bad news for the Catholic church. The Church has miles to go to clean up this mess. It could be 50 years or more.
I find it strange that the Church is being associated as the primary place where these unfortunate incidents take place. Seriously, the church has nothing compared to schools, day cares, etc. These incidents, while unfortunate, are few in number and are like airplane crashes. They rarely happen- but when they do, you hear about them.
There are over 10,000 victims of sexual abuse by hundreds of priests of the Catholic Church. Many if not most of these could have been stopped had the Bishops simply reported the Priest to the authorities. Unfortunatly they did not and thousands lives and families have been destroyed. Each one a heart breaking event. It was and is not rare. Bishops continue to hide and cover Priest sexual misconduct putting the Church before the children.

Why do you insist on twisting something so simple?
Holding offenders accountable will be good for the healing of the thousands of families hurt by this. How do you think these families feel now?
This is my Church as much as yours or any Bishop who hid offenders from accoutability and created more victims. It is not for me to leave but for any offending Bishops.
THen we can celebrate our faith without this sickening feeling of perv leadership lingering on for decades.

I accept the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Child molestation is not allowed---its listed as wrong* in the catechism. I can separate the teachings of the church from its sinning members and so I stay.

I love my church as much as you do and I want to make her stronger. I refuse to accept quietly or passivly, leadership from men who covered up for sex offenders who hurt our children.

I was at WYD too and could only see him with binoculars! I saw him almost this close in Valencia. I felt blessed after he had passed. He is an amazing person, and has a place for everyone in his heart.

My parents live 3 km of the Marienfeld away. It was amazing on the field.
Never ever I will forget, seeing him, at the cathedral, he drove 3 m away from me. In my mind this picture will remain forever. May god bless all people.

It was really a very memorable moment.. to see all those people from different countries made me realize that am really not alone with my faith.. and that God really works in the heart of everyone all-over the world.. May peace be with everyone! =)
