hi nice system, where did u connect ur lfe. n cud u possiblely give some good configration, as i wud like to make the most of this system. for music n movie
nice system man bose are fine in my apinion all the bose haters are just immature i think , i have a set my self and im very pleased to , you get what you pay for :)
You know?.......everyone is an expert. Bashing this brand or that. I see a lot of people just dropping model numbers and whatnot and they think they are pros. Everyone that has ever said something bad about a particular brand has never backed it by any professional commentary. Guess it comes down to a person's preference, size of the room and the type of sound you're looking for.
@hereistand2008 "all those ppl say that Bose is shit, they have no money and mind."
Check out my videos titled "RE: "Bose Speakers Are the Best! Haters Just Can't Afford Them!" (Pt.1 and Pt. 2). Then tell me what you think about people who hate Bose not having any money.
blows i mean bose is okay for the size but not for the money you have to pay, could have gotten better sat. systems for less price ... no highs no lows must be bose gotta love the marketing
@artifactingreality REALLY?! bose not my favorite i like it but not favorite so dnt go around and bag on this mans setup unless u got a vid to bragg about!
Well, first of all, you shouldn't have a bass module.
Basically, a subwoofer should be able to play down to 20 Hz (or very close to; at least within <30 - < or = 20). It also shouldn't play above 80-90 Hz. Basically, it should only play the lowest frequencies. There should be no sound that's "directional".
Bose Acoustimass "bass module" can't play below 30 Hz (I've heard as high as 40), and it plays way too high (you can even hear voices out of it, which is ridiculous).
@falkenlaser well the reason the Acoustimas Module also plays the voices and higher frequencys is because it has to make up for what the cube speakers cannot produce therefore you get more of a full frequency range througout the room. Bose's idea was to produce the smallest speaker that will put out the biggest sound. And i'm not to sure about that but my Acoustimas Module plays lower the 30 hz, it isnt SUPER loud but its there. But you gotta remember 5 1/4" drivers, not bad for a small driver
A subwoofer-type speaker shouldn't be playing that high. This makes it directional, which you do not want a subwoofer-type speaker to be.
For example, in a movie, the voices are mainly supposed to come from the center channel, and occasionally the other speakers, depending where voices may be coming from. The Acoustimass constantly plays voices, so you have a speaker that is constantly making a sound that should only come from a certain speaker.
Not only that, an Acoustimass module is usually in a place in which it's away from the other speakers. Therefore, if you listen carefully, you have sound that should only be coming from the front speakers coming from a very, very awkward place, resulting in really bad, bad imaging.
If Bose was smart, they'd of made their cubes to where they play low enough to where they don't need this "bass module" to make up for what they can't do. It's completely flawed logic.
A Bose salesperson, plus every audio expert I've talked to, including a dealer that sold Bose for nearly 30 years, told me that the Acoustimass module can't play as low as a subwoofer. Where did you get your idea that it can play below 30 Hz? Also, what do you mean by what you said about 5.25 in. drivers?
Check out my videos "Bose Lifestyle 48's Worst Nightmare" and "Bose V20's Worst Nightmare". Those systems show small speaker systems that are built right.
But you don't understand Bose's concept here. Their idea was to design the smallest speaker that will produce the biggest sound. Yes Paradigm makes excellent audio but their speakers are also bigger. Bose's idea was to make theirs virtually invisable for that "Clean" look. For a driver that size to play that low is pretty outstanding. Bose wasn't looking to be "the best sounding" they were looking to design the smallest speaker that will produce a big sound.
Paradigm's Cinema 70 speakers are 7 in. tall. They have an aluminum dome tweeter for the highs and a plastic mid-range for the lows which both have a crossover, which separates the high and lows to the correct drivers (highs to the tweeter and lows to the mid-range). Its low-frequency extension is 85 Hz, and its frequency response is 125 Hz to 20K Hz, which is low enough to where you can crossover a subwoofer high enough to where you won't have a frequency gap.
Bose Direct/Reflect cubes have two 2.5 in. paper drivers, and the Jewel Cubes have 2 1.5 in. paper drivers, both of which rely on to produce the highs and mids. 2.5 inches is a bad size for a speaker because it's too big to be a tweeter and too small to be a mid-range, hence it can't play that low and high enough. The Jewel Cube's 1.5 in. "twiddler" is too small to produce any low frequencies.
Bose should have made speakers that can play low enough to where they don't need this bass module.
The jewel cube speakers are 4 1/2" tall and 2 1/4" wide. They have swiveling drivers to direct the sound throughout the room. Paradigms speakers are simple enclosures with a midrange and tweeter and probably some cotton inside with the crossovers. Bose's speaker design is much more complex than Paradigms. Sure Paradigm is cheaper and sounds better but you still don't understand what im saying. You can hide em in the corners in your house and bearly see them + have sound that you wouldn't expect
Those Jewel Cubes have 1.5 paper drivers in them, and that's it. No crossover.. Sure, they swivel. That's not very complex. The the Paradigms are much more complex. Not only that, they have better materials in them; an aluminum dome tweeter and a plastic midrange.
Bose's stuff is also so overpriced it's not even funny. Watch my video "Why Bose Speakers Are Overpriced 1 (The Lifestyle 48)." The LS 48 has absolutely no right costing $4000 when you consider the equipment in this video.
LOL Oh well thats probably their reciever cuz i have Single Cubes with an Acoustimass 10 Passive Module thats not amplified that sounds great on my own reciever. Yes I agree with you there tho 4,000 for that is way overpriced. Thats why you build your own bose system buying the speakers off of eBay with your own reciever. I think I paid a whopping 70 dollars for the cubes and 120 for the module.
Sweet. You know, I know someone who has one of those 2.1 Acoustimass systems, and he got an active subwoofer to go with it, which makes up for the low notes the Acoustimass module can't play. That might be a good idea to try.
I'll probably post a video of my system probably at the beginning of the year. I own a pair of Paradigm Atom Monitors, a Cinema 110 C center, 2 Paradigm Cinema ADP surrounds, (I hope to get a Paradigm PDR-10 sub for Christmas), and a Yamaha RX-N600 A/V receiver.
Bass modules (or subwoofers) that are passive (powered by the amp) aren't as powerful than active ones. Not only that, if you got an active sub, you could hit those notes below 30 Hz, which the Acoustimass module can't play.
Also, Bose system's can't keep up with current tech. None of their DVD systems have a Blu-Ray player, nor 7.1 surround sound. They also have limited HDMI connectivity. While the LS48 and LS38 come with the VS-2 Video Enhancer, which is what you have to have to have HDMI (and only mere 2 HDMI inputs), the LS28 doesn't, and it's another $300. For that $300, you could get a nice Yamaha receiver that already has 4 HDMI inputs, plus surround sound capabilities that FAR exceed any Bose system!
Actually, all of my videos on Bose's systems have over 1,000 views, and one has nearly 10,000 (and it was posted about 5 months ago, too). Apparently a good number of people care.
Yes, there's people that will still like their Bose, but then there's a lot of people who if they heard something else before buying Bose, then they for sure wouldn't choose Bose.
As a matter of fact, the dealer I go to sold Bose for years. Most of the time they did keep the Bose stuff away from the other brands they sold (I believe at the time it was JBL, Polk, Klipsch (when these brands were good), and maybe Wharfedale). With the Bose speakers separate, they sold quite well. But, at one point they did put the Bose speakers with their other brands, and the Bose speakers barely sold at all. This is why Bose isolates their speakers from other brands.
The low end doesnt sound too distorted on the microphone and Ive got the pc patched into my JBL sound system in Dolby stereo mode at the moment since youtube is not digital 5.1. The lows on the JBL 4645 sound nice! Punchy kick! Most of those rubbish car hi-fi 20KW always sound distorted on youtube lol. Yeah goes to show doesnt it, now then!
it's always the way mate, I only realized when I was +25 ... all electronicas are basically the same ... paying more for the same thing would be really , rally silly....glad u are not silly, I'm not silly either .
looks a nice setup man ..got a bose thing myself, the acoustimass 3 I think it is ..wi the lil cubes ..anyway been ok bit overtop pricewise but ye been ok ...nothing a cheaper system couldnt do though .... I bought em pre 25 bday lol. anyway best regards,
Nice vid dude. I have the exact same Bose system running off of a Harmon Kardon AVR 254 receiver and it sounds great the only thing that I have noticed is that sometimes when I'm watching movies the dialogue sounds kind of muffled which makes it hard to understand sometimes. Do you have that problem? Do you know what kind of calibration I should do to make it sound better?
bose are the best sound in the world the quality is amazing with no distortion i have a £ 8500 bose system in my house and there is nothing to touch this my neighbours 6 doors away can hear this with all my windows closed never mind opened bowers and wilkins are crap
I know bose is a really good system, but there are a lot of things that makes BOSE a big shit, i.e. THE PRICE . You can get hundred of speakers better than bose, for the same price or less.
i don't think they sound realistic they exaggerate bass and mids and highs to me bose sounds better. people don't like bose because they aren't hearing slaming bass
I absolutely agree with your ideals regarding sound. Everyone has their own sound preference. If you know the circumstances regarding Bose, and prefer their sound, more power to you. I hate seeing other people bash Bose without motive or merit because it's the normal thing to do within the audio community. If it sounds good to you, that's all that matters.
I think they bash bose because they knowingly rip people off, its not worth $250 much less $3000. Just because some people enjoy getting anally raped doesnt mean the rapist isnt at fault.

bose is by no means BAD....but im comparison to a lot of audio brands they are inferior...bose costs heaps when you can get something that sounds much better for less....this is a lot like apple products...i could make a pc with the same specs as a mac for half the price...or maybe even less.

JBL, Klipsch, Wharfdale are 3 good brands that leave bose for dead...especially for home theatre, and for pc 5.1 pc speakers logitech Z-5500Ds are better than ANY of the shitty bose companions...or for 7.1 get Creative GigaWorks S750. I've done my fucking research...so whatever man...you are probabaly going to be a closed-minded fuck anyway and say something like "well idc bose is still better" and btw....calling someone a GEEK isn't an insult lol...i think someone need to use better comebacks
Paradigm, B&W, Wharfedale, and PSB, just to name a few, destroy both JBL AND Bose. Even systems of those brands costing half as much as any Bose system sound better. Bose's products are all overpriced and are sold through clever marketing.
Check out my videos. They have real audio equipment in them (two of them specifically show what you can get for the price of the Bose Lifestyle 48).
Oh, John, its been a while since we bumbled into each other on youtube. Hows your cat Pete doing? Basically what Universal is saying is. JBL is Just the Best Loudspeaker on the West Coast!
It's a long story, but JBL consumer feels that most Americans aren't willing to pay for high end systems. Hence, most of their best systems going to Japan. The market there is still strong compared with the market here. Sad, I know.
Well if Bose was clever then theyd be used at the Empire Leicester Squares 56KW THX sound system, wouldnt they. Empire uses JBL making Empire the most powerful THX cinema in the whole of Europe, with the biggest THX screen in the UK.
JBL, along with Polk, and Klipsch (sort of), used to be very good brands. But now, they're not as good as they use to. You can pick them up at any big box store. Any audio expert would tell you this. They still might make professional speakers that are good, but I'm not into those.
Wharfedale with no bass? My family owns a Diamond 9 system, and those speakers have quite a lot of bass; more than my Paradigms. They have a more "flowing" sound though; I could see why some people wouldn't like it.
All PA speakers are meant for volume. They are NOT meant for sound quality. Home speakers are meant to reproduce music as it was recorded, which PA speakers are not.
FALSE. have you ever heard a good song in quality LOUD... you can hear all the detail too. plus, no homespeaker has a good sub end (bass) other than cerwin vega of course. they are more of a club speaker brand anyway
what makes you think a speaker system made to fill up large and untreated conference rooms and auditoriums (filled with people who could care less about fidelity), would sound better than one made to sit in your living room and designed to provide the most lifelike sound possible?
@Xend54 Cerwin Vega are you serious? would you take Cerwin Vega over say validine? a company the only makes subwoofers? Or how about Mirage? Just to name a few.
First of all, it's now a Best Buy special brand, which means it's mass-produced. And yes, I've heard Klipsch, and it was a Denon amp powering them. They were okay, but Paradigm I believe is a better brand. They build all of their components in-house, and don't sell to just any average-joe dealer (and I think they sound better. I don't like horn tweeters). Not only that, the salesman at dealer I go to said Klipsch became impossible to deal with as a company (warranty, service, shipping, etc.).
Which models are you referring to? The cheap, sub-$2000 Synergy Series sold at Best Buy? or the $31,500 Palladium Series sold in specialty stores? You have to be more specific!
And BTW, a receiver's amp section isn't enough to power most Klipsch speakers at high volumes regardless of how efficient these speakers really are... and I speak from experience.
Paradigm is great also, but none of their models are affordable enough to sell at any major chain, hence their absence.
Oh I'm referring to the Synergy lines. Those Palladiums do look damn nice. I wonder how they'd compare to Wilson Audio's Sophias and WATT/Puppies (which are my dream speakers).
Actually, Paradigm's Monitor line is in the same Synergy series price range. They begin at $360/pair (the Atom Monitor bookshelfs, which I own), and are an incredible value. Check out my videos. They show examples of some of Paradigm's lower-ended stuff (you'll LOVE these videos).
I respect your opinion but bashing Klipsch because their lower line is sold at BB isn't an accurate measure of performance for ANY of its lines. I own the RF-63's, RC-64, RS-62's and the RT-12d and I am not impressed nor by biggest IMAX theater here in NY, nor a pair of B&W 802 Diamond's and JL Fathom f112 played through a Marantz pre-amp and dual McIntosh amps that I listened to at the store where I purchased my pre-amp. Sounded great but did not feel my system sounded inferior to it at all.

you asked me a question, i gave you a proper fucking answer....so if you want to be a stupid fanboy then fine....have fun with that, just let me know when you wanna apologise for being a jerk k? ;)
Lol dude you really need to get out more. Just because you dont get out often dosnt mean you need to insult people who dont like bose. Because you clearly havent heard any good brands, and if you have and still like bose you need hearing aids. Oh and BTW Xenonfuze has it right.
What do I think is the best? Bowers and Wilkins, Wilson, Meridian, and JL Audio make speakers that cost upwards of $10,000, and average around $30,000. These are the brands audiophiles buy and what recording studios use. And that's another thing; if Bose is so great, then why don't audiophiles buy it?
Xeonfuze is right, too. While Klipsch and JBL aren't the best brands out there (but they are better than Bose), Wharfedale, along with Paradigm, Def. Tech., KEF, PSB, and B&W blow Bose away like nobody's business. You are most likely entranced by the Bose "name", and you'll think a Bose system is good when you hear it just because it's Bose. I'd like to see you do a blind comparison between a Bose system and a system of one of the brands I mentioned and see what you think is better.
You can hear dialogue come from the Acoustimass module. This means if you put it near your CD rack or wherever, if you listen carefully, it'll sound as if dialogue is coming from where you put it and not the TV, which is where it should sound like it's coming from.
Sure, if a Chevy Aveo is the only car someone has ever ridden, they're going to think it's the best. Just like you have most likely never critically compared a really good system to a Bose system.
Falkenlaser: "I really don't know the specific version, but I know it's their newest, and that it's way better than the old Atom. They seriously are amazing speakers for the money!"

Awesome, my dad has those same exact mediamate's!!! Right now for my pc I am using the Bose acoustimass 3 powered bass module with 2 sony v230 8ohm impedance speakers. It's an amzing combo. Soon I am getting an pioneer 5.1 receiver and paradigm speakers for my gaming pc setup! :D

murder is right - Bose is one of the worst brands you can buy. However, while Infinity is decent, you still could've bought something better with the money you used to buy the Infinity setup
dud its an ok system but u could of goten some mirage nanos witch bestbuy sells for like 5bills and a 300 doller klipsch sub for cheaper and way better. The mirage speakers would sertanly blow that shiz away for the price.
haha...if you knew anything about audio, you would know that bose is overpriced bullshit. they still use a paper cone. Oh BTW nice insignia 37" couldnt even go for an LG? Weak!
If you watched my latest video you would notice that I now have a Toshiba REGZA. Many speaker companies still use paper cones especially in small drivers. Like I have already said I have a small room and wanted small speakers. The cubes will not match large floor standing speakers, but for the size they deliver a lot of sound. You can't compare small satellite speakers to large floor standing speakers.

Sweet. You know, I know someone who has one of those 2.1 Acoustimass systems, and he got an active subwoofer to go with it, which makes up for the low notes the Acoustimass module can't play. That might be a good idea to try.
I'll probably post a video of my system probably at the beginning of the year. I own a pair of Paradigm Atom Monitors, a Cinema 110 C center, 2 Paradigm Cinema ADP surrounds, (I hope to get a Paradigm PDR-10 sub for Christmas), and a Yamaha RX-N600 A/V receiver.
falkenlaser 2 years ago
Well the Acoustimas Modules that aren't amplified and use the power from the recieiver in my opinion are better than the amplified ones.
zellian26 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
Bass modules (or subwoofers) that are passive (powered by the amp) aren't as powerful than active ones.

Nice vid dude. Do you have that problem? Do you know what kind of calibration I should do to make it sound better?

Loudness does not equal quality. How about you tell use just how loud your speakers really are since Bose won't do so themselves.
MrAudiogeek 2 years ago
bose is not the best, they are good, but not the best. and as for no system being as loud as yours, mine is.
each speaker is
300W RMS.
1" high output fiberglass tweeter
2- 5 1/14 in midranges.
15" woofer.
but the volume comes from.
103db sensitivity.
i have done research and no bose is that sensitive. such as the acoustimass, the cubes have 87db sensitivity.

I absolutely agree with your ideals regarding sound. Everyone has their own sound preference. If you know the circumstances regarding Bose, and prefer their sound, more power to you.

Xend54 1 year ago
@XenDumbAss54
what makes you think a speaker system made to fill up large and untreated conference rooms and auditoriums (filled with people who could care less about fidelity), would sound better than one made to sit in your living room and designed to provide the most lifelike sound possible?
bosesucks101 1 year ago

Can you explain why Klipsch is not as good as it used to be? What Klipsch system have you listened to and what was the audio source?
bosesucks101 1 year ago

First of all, it's now a Best Buy special brand, which means it's mass-produced. And yes, I've heard Klipsch, and it was a Denon amp powering them. They were okay, but Paradigm I believe is a better brand. They build all of their components in-house, and don't sell to just any average-joe dealer (and I think they sound better. I don't like horn tweeters). Not only that, the salesman at dealer I go to said Klipsch became impossible to deal with as a company (warranty, service, shipping, etc.).
falkenlaser 1 year ago
@falkenlaser
Paradigm is great also, but none of their models are affordable enough to sell at any major chain, hence their absence.
bosesucks101 1 year ago
Oh I'm referring to the Synergy lines. Those Palladiums do look damn nice. I wonder how they'd compare to Wilson Audio's Sophias and WATT/Puppies (which are my dream speakers).
Actually, Paradigm's Monitor line is in the same Synergy series price range. They begin at $360/pair (the Atom Monitor bookshelfs, which I own), and are an incredible value. Check out my videos. They show examples of some of Paradigm's lower-ended stuff (you'll LOVE these videos).
falkenlaser 1 year ago
I respect your opinion but bashing Klipsch because their lower line is sold at BB isn't an accurate measure of performance for ANY of its lines. I own the RF-63's, RC-64, RS-62's and the RT-12d and I am not impressed nor by biggest IMAX theater here in NY, nor a pair of B&W 802 Diamond's and JL Fathom f112 played through a Marantz pre-amp and dual McIntosh amps that I listened to at the store where I purchased my pre-amp. Sounded great but did not feel my system sounded inferior to it at all.
