  • sounds exactly the same as the other ending I just watched (3:20 minute video) except it starts later. how is it different? btw, best ending in the history of cinema.

  • "Once, we were here." Totally heartbreaking.

  • @TheRiseandResist

    No no , ' Once , We were here ' !

  • do anybody know the last music that play a1:14 ...it sound good ..i want it...

  • This is an original ending that was cut from the final version of the movie. Rightly so, it's redundant and distracting. Had "Dances with Wolves" not been well edited, it might not have been the Best Picture of 1990. My family is descended from five European and three Native American nations. Sometimes silence speaks volumes. The editing is one more reason that this latest "Last of the Mohicans" is ranked among the top 100 films of all time.--Tom Reilly

  • I'm not a native but if I had the oppurtunity or choice to be among the natives shoot I wouldn't hesitate I love and admire them alot.

  • Who says were interbred and conquered,as in forgetting who we are and loosing our way of life.NOT that is what most people tend to believe, believe it or not.Even in this day and age we have not conformed to this way of life,I know who I am why should I disregard how we were created or try and replace myself with someone else....I know who I am and many Non Natives have come over to our side.....

  • I saw this movie in the theaters like five times, and I still have the VHS,so I know for sure this wasn't in the orignal version. Thanks for uploading this. One of the best films ever.

  • were conquered and interbred. That small way of thinking you talk about almost proudly is bullshit.

  • @kaari the problem with that occurs when you actually think about the word race, as you haven't. I have an Irish father and an English mother, but god knows how many times Britain/Ireland have been conquered. Celtic, Anglo Saxon, Norseman, roman, Norman, those from Brittany, fuck you could go on forever if you actually use your brain and understand genealogy. Even what people today you would regard as 100% native Americans and Inuits came from ancient tribes who either expanded and interbred or

  • i only give a shit about my race to be honest, that's how it works. You look after your own. If you don't you're instincts are missing and your race will be not you.

  • @kaari UR STUPID ...imkeepping it simple for u

  • Too me that is an alternate ending, the ending on my DVD is different

  • Alternate ending or not... it made me cry

  • this is the exact same ending i saw in theaters twenty years ago dumbass

  • @cattman05 I'm sorry, but you misremember. This is from the Director's Expanded Edition DVD, it was NOT in the theatrical ending. His speech ended with asking the elders to prepare the seat by the fire, followed by nobody speaking. You can see it in the video called "The Last of the Mohicans end", uploaded by watch3r1, and I can assure you: THAT is what was in theatres.

  • My VHS copy that I got back in the 90's had a different ending than this. It was basically the same only without the political agenda. Years later I got the DVD with this ending. My DVD is also missing he Clannad song, so I still prefer my VHS copy.

  • exelente musica y pelicula como para ser eternas

  • Never seen this ending. Prefer the original

  • Google with the option:

“Interdicto Restitutorio « Pesimo Servicio …capitulo Ecuador”

Read the comment is very important.

The life of a good person is in dangerous.

  • Right, this was probably the Director's ending/ Book's ending ..

As I recall, he says he's the last of the mohicans in the theatrical tv version as he soons joins his place with his people.

  • moron...

  • well, 95% of the native americans were killed by the white mans diseases from cattle and foreign flews that were unknown to the native americans. So in retrospect if it wasnt for the disease that the white men were so lucky to of brought along with them our people would still be alive and the white man would of not stepped foot on the turtle island for hundreds or years until they learned their lesson. ware owning the earth instead of living with it was only leading our race to climate problems.

  • This ending is in the re- released Director,s cut.

  • This is the alternate ending to the Notre Dame-USC game of 2004.

  • The mohicans are still around.

They're drunk on a reserve somewhere.

  • @LordDyhalto I think you mean the mohegans. Who they were loosely based on.

  • @LordDyhalto No, they're raking in the dollars at Mohegan Sun casino, one of the largest in the NY area. They nearly went extinct, not in 1757 but in 1960s when the last family living on original tribal land died out and one of their nephews inherited the land and had like a week to file a claim to sovereign tribal land or their tribe would be wiped from the books forever. He hired a lawyer who specialized in getting paid by investing in Indian casinos, and they won. Can you blame them? Dunno.

  • this is the ending of the film, since there is no alternate ending.I have this movie both on VHS and DVD.One of the best movies in the last 25 years.

  • @anthonypeleias1928 Do you have the Theatrical Cut with original dialogue & scenes and the Clannad song during the chase? That is the original... This is the directors cut. (the first part is the same).

I personally prefer Theatrical cut in all other respects, except this extra dialogue at the end I like. Most of the other changes are actually stuff got removed from the original. Mann should re-release both versions. I still have Widescreen theatrical on VHS w/ orig. sound. Only on DVD in Euro.

  • i really love soooo much this speech! it's EPIC!

  • I had a praying mantas that climbed a tree to kill another mantas. because the other mantas ate his friend. they got this off the last of the mantas species.

  • Their will always be new frontiers to cross, and I pray we shall traverse them as one global family. Once we have realized the differences that divide us are only superficial, there will be nothing to stand in our way. We are sons and daughters of Earth and Sky. The only borders that separarte us are in the mind. When you see photographs of Earth, taken from space, you don't see black lines drawn on the continents.

  • this is probably my all time favorite monolog. it almost makes me want to cry....i wish i could have known my ancestors

  • please you all get a life ,its a movie.

  • LMAO. I don't think any of them should have died, but I found what you said hilarious. XD

  • i thought they were both going to climb back up the cliff or somthing

  • @lubetubeful

lol "almighty hot one!" Uncas sure is! Um mmm mmm uncas!

Actually I read a french young adult novel verion of the last of the mohicans where it ends similar to how it begins-uncas and chingachcook walk off alone, hawkeye and cora die together somehow, i think magua kills him while he s saving her. so that would be the version for you! I do wish they had more lines and shots for uncas! hes a great actor and was on people magazines hot 100

  • @lubetubeful

Sounds like you need to go direct your own movies. Pretty sure that the only thing Daniel Day Lewis says after she dies is "that is my fathers sadness talking", so I am not entirely sure what you are talking about.

  • I've posted a video as response the ending as we saw it overseas, it contains both speeches descibed in the comments so far, i think it may be interesting for those of you that haven't see both endings together, so this is the complete ending as saw in the versions shown overseas

  • Technically, the book has a different monologue from both of these. :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this up. I have to do an analytical paper of this movie and this scene is a huge part of it. Thanks again! =)

  • "And our race will be no more" I've never seeing this before.

  • Our race will be no more .. or be not us.

Very sad and very true. I sympathize with native americans, I wish we wouldn't have been so greedy and reckless and selfish.

  • It is said in Hopi Prophecy that white America has 500 hundred years before it all comes to an end. It is said its society is dying from within, because they do not live on Earth as it was intended by the Creator and Mother Nature.

Its been what? 230 years now?

Who knows what they future holds.

I think no matter what, in the end, we will all go back to what used to be,

    but thats just me hahah

  • i agree with your statement i feel the same way. In ancient cultures like amongst my native brothers the spirits of animals were considered equal with men. what we see now is the europeans destruction of all that is normal in this world. Its not all europeans but the elite of europe who are not at peace till they have destroyed our world.

  • very sad indeed.

  • Yeah. I am white but I was like a Native American Indian fanatic when I was about 3 - 5 or 6 years old. When I was 4 years old I gave my brother a Native American feather when he was born.

  • Don't worry, there will be no distinct races left at all once the Social Engineers finally get their way.

So we will all be in the same boat soon enough.

  • Whites aren't unique. Every race with great political power has done the same thing - tried to annihilate another culture - and in the end got its own ass kicked.

  • @TOCR815 natives arent treated well today either...

  • @TOCR815 I know, I'm not white, or american, this is so sad! I shudder in a way, I'm of Indian origin, the asian one, and I've heard of stories of the british brutality. At least the brits just took our gold, didn't kill us all, destroy the culture.

  • @TOCR815 Yes, we've done a pretty good job of near annihilating a once proud race.

  • @TOCR815 Who is we? I'm to young to have lived at that time..you must be an old man.

  • Comment removed

  • this is not an alternate ending moron, this is the original ending

  • well i'm sorry, but this is the original ending on a lot of people's region 2 dvds, including my own, and including the vhs copy my dad has had for years.

so for me and a lot of other people, it IS an alternate ending.

  • I also did not know this ending, so don't listen to some people.

    And many thanks for uploading.

  • @lisashenmaid To clarify, PSM1441 is completely wrong, sorry.

The Theatrical Cut has scenes that the director's cut doesn't. Most people today haven't seen it unless they live in Europe or have it on vhs or saw the movie when it came out.

  • @lisashenmaid seriously, why would you take a scene from a movie and make some bullshit claim that it is an alternate and then put it on youtube? fucking idiot

  • @SpartanMartan973 go back to your cave

  • @lisashenmaid Em, are we forgetting the lesson of this movie?

    Already fighting again, disappointing

  • @lisashenmaid hi, im intrested in the end of your version cuz i just know this ending. can u help me 2 find it plz?

  • @SpartanMartan973 you seriously have to stop being retarded. I hope there are more important things in your life than arguing on youtube. Get a girlfriend or sth...

  • @SpartanMartan973 you seriously have to stop being retarded. I hope there are more important things in your life than arguing on youtube. Get a girlfriend or sth...

  • @SpartanMartan973 You're a right cheeky bastard aren't you?

If the guy is used with a different version and finds this, then it's an alternate ending for him,..ok you gobshite?

Now don't be so fucking cheeky, you ignorant prick.

  • @SpartanMartan973 it is an alternate ending, retard. This is NOT the US theatrical ending. If you watch the entire sequence from Chingachkook's eulogy for Uncas to where it cuts to this ending Cora is hugging Hawkeye from the front then the next scene she's standing next to him. This is from the director's cut.

  • @emp0rizzle even if this was an alternate ending as you so foolishly claim, it is so insignifcant so why the hell put it on youtube and make us believe it is an actual alternate that is worth watching?

  • @SpartanMartan973 Probably because this is not the ending that was in theatres. This is the ending from the "Director's Expanded Edition". Do your homework, fool.

  • @SpartanMartan973 I didnt get this ending on my dvd!

  • @SpartanMartan973 relax, its different for a lot of people, get over it, its like a 1 minute video

  • No actually its not the original ending. The original ending is where he speaks with the "Great Spirit" and say to him "Today a great warrior comes to you, as swift as an arrow shot into the sun, prepare a place for him at the council table of my people, his name is Gencoucouk, he is my son. Thats the original ending.

  • @HardRokMiner

    Name = Uncas

  • @PSM1441 This IS the alternate ending you _dumb cunt_. The original theatrical version ends right after he talks about how he's the last of the mohicans.

  • @PSM1441 Actually, it is not EXACTLY the original ending... I just downloaded and watched the movie and it didn't contain this speech. They are there, on that high spot, but Chingachgook spoke only of his son, not about the Frontier... :) So in a way, it IS kind of an alternate ending... :)

  • @PSM1441 This is the directors ending, and the book's ending. But the original release in the theatre did not have this dialogue.

  • @PSM1441 it teachnically is an alternate ending as it is different ot the books ending

  • @wackadoohimfan Which is a good thing, as the book was horrible.

  • @PSM1441 fuk off yes it is

  • Wish there was another high quality version in english.

  • Best lines in the whole fucking movie and one of the best monologues in the history of pop movie culture.

Indeed the best and most meaningful scene in the entire movie.

It expresses beautifully the essence of the tragedy of the limited human existence and shows us that a single life is but a blink and means ultimately nothing.

Along with the music this is a brilliant scene, kudos to the writer of this monologue.

  • this is the epic ending which they NEVER show on tv

i have this ending on my version and i upload this for torrents

perhaps someone here has the luck to get my version, it is the best version of this film

i hate that most commercial versions skip this vital part of the film

  • This is the version on my DVD.

  • I need to see the original as this alternate is my original.

  • The sadness in his voice when he speaks the truth makes me want to weep with him.

    "...but once, we were here."

  • It's because that sadness is real. There is no acting when it comes to the grief imposed by the white man responsible for a loss that words cannot describe.

  • "...we were here."

  • fucking rights they should have used that one.

  • i totally agree with you. this ending is much more powerful

  • Yes i like this one !!

  • I like this ending better.

  • Thank you for posting this, I've been looking for it. I think it would have been a far better ending than the original. Many young people these days don't seem to know the truth of not only the dark past for Native people but what is going on even now.

  • This is not the original ending? I have it on my PC and i saw it almost 20 times. And it's the same ending i see here. So.....?

  • No its not! its strange that you have this ending on your copy...where did you get your copy from? the cinematic version that went to dvd is a very different speech.

  • I downloaded the DVD from internet. Strange....

  • I first bought this film for my VCR and that version was with the shorter ending. I then get a DVD player and the DVD version has "Director's Cut" at the top and this version has the longer ending, also there is no song sung during the chase scene to catch Alice and Cora, and there is additional parts of the action at Fort William Henry.

  • @lisashenmaid Prove it.

  • @ordoshaman prove what?

  • @lisashenmaid prove that the ending in your version is different.

  • @auricapalmagrea

This is NOT the ending scene ;)

  • i love this wonderful movie/

  • I loved that ending scene, I wish Russell Means got an Oscar for that speech.

  • i realy like this movie we watched it in my history class it was ausome plus hawkeye is georges. beside that ,its a realy good movie and i cried at the end it was so sad.

but it kinda sucked that i cryed in class

but i wasn't the only one even some of the guys were crying it was such a great movie.

    i loved it

  • yeah i like what russell means says in this ending, its very poignant.

  • that is so true the last hundred years have been a dark time for native culture but we're getting it back. in time
