I enjoyed this game a lot. I would like to play a sequel, but I would really want them to be careful with it. I could easily see them warp the story to some random objective that was loosely represented in the first game, just to make money. I don't think I'd want Neku to be the main character though (even though he's awesome). He solved his primary social problem in the first one, getting the change that ur supposed to get when u win. Basically, I want it to be similar, but not a dissapointment
the kid with the headphones sorta looks like Sora/Roxas from Kingdom Hearts but yet again, the makers did make kingdom hearts....I cant wait to try out this game!!!!

There's heaps of things similar between TWEWY and KH. Sora and Kairi look way too much like Neku and Shiki, and the equivalent of Heartless in TWEWY are the Noise, just to name a couple.
ok the noise fulfill a similar role as the heartless, but the similarities pretty much end there. besides, kairi wasn't as insecure as shiki and sora was far more cheerful than neku ever was. considering that his character development was a big part of the story, it seems kind of strange for you to ignore that

Meh for people who say the story is like gantz...not really just because they're playing a "game" it's gantz. Ofc, when you see it you think "osh gantz" but there are alot of different stuffs on it. And the Noises ain't like the heartless, the noises are just attracted for negative toughs. nothing more, they're just, if i remember well, some kind of soul from erased players i think. So indeed. Try to think the differences and yeah, it's not really alike other stuff.
The problem is that the plot is to similar, and therefore twewy can be seen as being unoriginal. The noise are also similar to the heartless, examples being that they both are born from humans and are also subservient to a particular kind of person( in heartless, those with strong hearts, and in noise, the reapers). Go further into this and you may notice that the reapers are similar to the org XIII of kh. Take a look and examine this yourself to get an understanding of what I'm trying to say.
Of course they're similar, they're both made by the exact same team. The part of Square that makes KH made TWEWY, in fact they actually used a modified Chain of Memories engine.
What about character wise? I don't see some pessimistic kid going around trying to avoid everyone. The growth of Neku is way different then Riku's. Noise isn't made from the darkness in people's hearts, though some are attracted to it. DOn't see a kid wacking the darkness with a ridiculously large key, and I don't see Neku unlocking holes and saving the world. I don't see angels in Kingdom hearts that go around trying to create taboo heartless.
Unoriginality doesn't mean that every aspect is similar. If a story only had a have a few differences from another story, then it would be far to easy to say that it's original.

I'm playing it it right now, but to be honest its not as great as it's hyped.
The characters are obvious rips of kh characters (nomura has been known to not have very good originality), right down to the first 6 org XII members sans marluxia. The story isn't exactly original ( noise= heartless and story in itself is similar to gantz). And the pin system is a bit faulty, due to the limited ways of executing them ( and yes I know sub slots but it's still a pain in the ass sometimes).
Like I mentioned before, the story is a rip of gantz. No shit that the noise aren't exactly like the heartless but itt's obviously an unorigina; idea since both beings come from humans, where as heartless are darkness enveloped hearts the noise are the negative thoughts and emotions of humans. And damn staright I've played to much kh and damn proud of it.

Yeah FF 7 talks more about heroes and love. This game hits so hard on trust friendship and Ordinary ppl Turned Heroes. Its so Epic. I love Joshua so much.
@Kingakuzutto I would probably agree with you if I had ever actually played Final Fantasy 7 and had the necessary context to compare the two games. Regardless this is indeed a fantastic game. If feels like Chain of Memories, but more challenging and with a much more interesting cast of characters.
@Kingakuzutto Two things I don't like about FF7: the camera (particularly in places like between Sectors 6 and 7 and the train graveyard so you have no clue how to go where you're going) and the fans. This game has neither of these problems, but unfortunately, nobody played it because it's a DS exclusive and will probably stay that way.
Can't wait to see Neku in the next Kingdom Hearts!

The story of these characters is already finished, and I think it would be pretty hard to make a good sequel to this game.
All the sequels to Chrono Trigger, for example, lost what made the game great in the first place. This game is better as just a single game.
