They don't produce a car that would stand a chance against a WRC prepared Ford Fiesta or any other manufacturer for that matter. Block made the smart move and switched over to Ford so he could compete in WRC while still having a car and a company he could market to America. Until Subaru or Mitsubishi put out a 1.6L subcompact that will compete in WRC they will never be the kings of the hill. That title goes to Lancia.

And as far as right off the car lot, there is no Ford that compares to either an STi or an EVO. These cars are built for rallying bone stock. Nothing turned to shit, how could it? In Rally America there isn't much to choose from on the American market so of course it is dominated buy Subaru and Mitsubishi. On a world wide scale there is no contest from either brand. Wikipedia doesn't talk down to me when i read it, you might be doing something wrong.
