  • My Godmother told me some wonderful stories about Madame Ernestine Washington and how good she sang. The late Pastor Timothy Wright told me some

wonderful history on here 2 b/c she was his pastor Bishop F.D Washington wife.

  • What a powerful voice. How I wish I could have heard her in person.

  • Washington Temple doesn't deserve the lack of community participation its receiving. It was built on a foundation of Faith teachings and Holy Ghost Preachings and God was always in the presence. I heard that Eric Washington is writing a book about the great Bishop and Madame FD Washington. Eric is their Grandson who has turned over a new leaf in his life, I guess he's all grown up and ready to take the mantel and bring life back to his Grandparents legacy. I'll write back as I hear more....

  • Madame Washington sound like my God mother talking and singing.

  • Her husband, the Late Bishop F. D. Washington was one of the greatest preachers COGIC ever produced.

  • Ernestine sounds so sweet when she was talking. She sounds like one of those mothers of the church that bakes pies and cakes that's always trying to get you to come over and get some lol.She sanging this one with her squallin self! Great post Shane of the Songbird of the Eastcoast!

  • Ditto, DarnelOh. Can't decide if I love hearing Earnestine's speaking voice or singing voice more...

  • Thanks man, i love hearing her sing this. And from what I have heard about her, she was a very nice lady, very comical, but very serious about her Church work, very COGIC!

  • Yeah, she song with alot of conviction and by that you can tell she was real woman of God.You can tell she meant everything she sung about and most of all her walk of holiness.I love when she said she didn't sell out!
