  • Excellent, Excellent song! I love how Jon starts the song singing about all of man's wickedness but then ends with God's redemptive work in our lives! AMEN! So much hope in the last part of the song...Love it!

  • I think it's talking about how we are so SKILLED at hurting each other and just being evil. We can't trust anyone... Even Jesus didn't trust us because he knew what was in man. He loved us... but he knows what we are capable of. We can love OR cause great harm and EVIL. We are skilled at this. BUT Jesus is just as skilled. He is skilled at loving, giving mercy, and judging. WE can trust that HE WILL TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING. He is skilled even more than we are, but for GOOD only.

  • i havent quite understood how jon foreman can put such power into a song and make it speak to you the way it does. well done.

  • i think this song is about the fact that, sure there is suffering in our world, but God is sovereign overall, and in the end, He will have the last say and bring suffering to an end. Amen.

  • I absolutely love how he takes stuff straight outta the Bible and just puts a melody to it. What a brilliant concept!

  • My favourite Jon Foreman song. It has such amazing lyrics.

  • wow, this is truly an amazing song.. so deep =_=

  • Wow Richard............this video is the strongest that I've ever seen on Youtube. I think you deserve an award. I subscribed to your channel so keep up the top notch quality media ministry you have going on here. :) May we live on behalf of Jesus towards the least of these.

  • @Infantrysquad22 wow, thanks :)!!

It was kinda an off the cuff kind of thing and i havent really thought of making any others since. i really appreciate your kind encouragement though! Maybe I will some time :)

  • @richardwgtn I got a lot from it too. Thank you.

  • Foreman

  • hermoso

  • That was excellent.

  • Great song with inspiring lyrics. Awesome job with the video as well!

  • this song makes me cry...(x_x)

  • heh strong video for and equally strong song

  • thanks for putting this up- i was challenged. it hurts but there's hope and it should always hurt.

  • love this song !! :D

  • thank you~!!!! I have this on my front page thanks to you!!!

  • beautiful

  • great job!

  • y does he only sing soft songs??

  • This is his solo project from Switchfoot. He's able to do these songs the way he wants to do them as an artist, because now they are independent. Jon has always been a very reflective songwriter, and this is the way he chooses to make his music. With no record label influencing them, they are more able to make their music as they want. Personally to me this Fall/Winter CD was AMAZING because I was losing faith in Switchfoot esp after Oh! Gravity. Seeing Jon do stuff like this is refreshing.

  • I COMPLETELY agree! I totally began to lose faith in them after the "Chem 6a" "New Way to Be Human" and "Learning to Breathe" days. But this is gorgeous.

  • @ZahkfromZeal AMEN we need more Christian and Christ-centered stuff like this!

  • because soft songs are more sierouse. thats just my opinion. and he really wants to get his point across

  • I tink of all of the Switchfoot stuff rocks !!!!!!!!!melodically and lyricallly....sounds pretty short-sighted i knw but, thats hw i feel.....Swithcfoot is my #1 band and that will never change for as long as i live.....wohhooo Rock on Switchfoot, Tim,Jon,Drew,Jerome,Chad!!!!

  • Excuse me i Love JON FOREMAN and his music and Switchfoot and im sorry to be the idiot i am and pardon my ignorance but can some kindly explain this song ot me i mean i understadn it but in my perspective i woukd liek to knwo someoen else perferbly how it relates to the Bible or just random =] plz and thank you

  • Check out Micah 7 bro. You will pretty much find the lyrics ;)

We are sinners, both our hands.. but God is good! Where would we be without that! I think 7:7 really sums it up. We live in a messed up world, even we ourselves do messed up things BUT: (7:7) But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me

  • THank you very much :) nice of you

  • check out micah 7 NLT version. because its the closest to this song. as is his song Instead of a Show. that song is based on amos something and NLT is closest to it too. NLT might be his favorite version.

  • one of the best songs ever, this is so beautiful, amazing

  • WOW! This was amazing - song and video.

  • This song makes me repent...and rejoice in the gospel.

    Law and Gospel.. beautiful!

  • what cd is this from?

  • jon foremans fall EP

  • Hello

This song is the best, and a nice video as well.

  • this song reminds me about jeremiah and daniel and ezekiel, just tired of feeling lonely

  • yeah. its about god. straight up. just open your eyes tot he truth. some people just so sont want to see that someone so amazing can actually believe in something that some people can'prove' (yeah right) is fake. take a look at the wind. can you really see it? the answer is no. you only see the effects of it. that is what god is like. be open minded about things like this. otherwise prejduice gets in the way, arguements errupt and it all gets out of hand and ridiculous.

  • ha you know i had the same thought about wind and how it relates to God. It popped in my head last week. I read your comment and its like your reading my mind.

the Bible says God's creation shouts his name.

  • "ha you know i had the same thought about wind and how it relates to God. It popped in my head last week. I read your comment and its like your reading my mind.

the Bible says God's creation shouts his name."

I love how true the Bible is :)

  • All the lyrics are straight out of malachi (a minor prophet in the old testament)!! Great song!!! Its so relavent to today!!!

  • Uh Micah not Malachi :D

  • haha! srry! we studied both books that day! lol! i got em' confused!

  • Hehe it's fine. I didn't know that until I read a comment on another video of this song (:

  • I decided this needs to be called "God is Ambidextrous"

  • i could be reading ur comment wrong but the song isnt about God! Well it is but he's saying both of our hands are equaly guilty at doing wrong! not God's but im not really sure if thats wut ur saying or not!

  • at the end tho I'm pretty sure its about God.

  • ya but the rest of it is all about the evil doings thatmen do to eachother! so by calling it "God is Ambidextrous" i think it would give ppl the wrong idea!!!

  • my favorite song of his, next to "your love is strong"

  • beautiful...absolutely beautifully done..loved the imagery...
