@al3x440 I got 2 sets too. I switched it to a Powerbass ASA 400.4x amp. It sounds 20X better. The logitech amp really sucks.

Simply use a volt meter (in AC mode) to measure the voltage. voltage/ impedence (8 ohm) = amperes.

voltage X amp = power (watts)

it's simple physics really.

Hi, yes, providing that you now cannot use 5.1 from the computer. You will still get simulated 5.1 on the Z-5500 through the modes, PLmusic/movie. All you need a simple headphone or 3.5mm splitter.

the z2300 and z5500 have the same amount of volume loudness but i found the z5500 had a tad better high frequency but the 2300 had a much better deeper bass

i would recomend you have 4 Z2300 satalite speakers to 1 bass speakers by using spitters .

I am planning on getting a good speaker set for this christmas, and I'm having a hard time trying to decide, which is actually better; the Z-2300 or the Z-5500. Three of my friends have the Z-2300 and I have seen it do serious bass, but I havent seen the Z-5500 live. Plus the fact that the Z-2300 is 50% cheaper. But I am going for the highest sound and the best quality. Since you have both sets, which do you recommend?

the Z-5300e amp isnt bigger, its just outside of the enclosure, infact, what sticks out, is all there is. The Z-5500's amp on the other hand, extends into the enclosure a bit and is bigger. The Z-5500 is a huge improvement over the Z-5300.

Go for the Z-5500, a lot of soundcards can convert 2.1 into 5.1, I've got the Xi-Fi Music Extreme from Creative and a Z-5500 and it does the job. I won't recommend buying this soundcard though, you'll hear a strange noise coming out of the speakers when the sub is playing low frequencies.

I don't know why you're Z-5500 doesn't do that much excursion, mine is really pumpin' it and it's not digitally connected. A lot of excursion is not always a good sign though;) It looks cool though, I love it
