ive been watching these videos and this one was so cool its like the ink was just disappearing lol how does this stuff work? and what makes it hurt too?
I am afro-am and have had two laser treatments and both times resulted in hyperpigmentation AND hypopigmentation. The laser was kept at the lowest frequency both times. The hyperp. has toned to some degree while the hypopigmented areas are taking a very long time to return to normal. I am now waiting until my tone is back b4 another treatment , possibly 2-3 months. How can I speed up the healing process and would you recommend no trtmnt or another type of treatment?
lashell, did they used a q-switched 1064nm laser? this is the safest laser for tattoo removal on African American (AA) skin. Make sure they ice pre and post treatment to reduce injury to the epidermal melanin. For hypopig, expose these areas to sun to stimulate melanocytes. As for hyperpig, i would worry about the hypo more. Treat the hyperpig AFTER you repigment the hypo'd areas with a bleaching cream.
@happymmm thank you for the advice. I was told to avoid the sun so I guess this is why it is taking so long for the hypo to return to normal. It was the q-switched laser.
@mizzcashmoney1 yes it does hurt even with the numbing cream. At least for myself. It all depends on your pain tolerance and how badly you want to get rid of your tat. It feels like 100 hot rubber bands popping against your skin at once over and over again.
@lashell30 After my first tattoo removal session, I had serious hypopigmentation (I'm African American as well). My dermatologist told me to expose my skin to the sun as much as possible. Also (this isn't professional advice), I used ginger on the affected area and that actually helped my skin tone come back quicker. HTH...
