TTGL was supposed to be a parody of Super Robot shows, with most of its material being heavily influenced by Getter Robo. I'm kind of confused as to why people think it's so amazing. Ryoma Nagare (from Getter Robo) does more insane stunts than Kamina, and -lives- from it all. And the TTGL mecha itself was only made possible because the people were in a universe that gave them power from their courage or whatever. If the Getter Team were in there, they'd slaughter 'em.

And the formation of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann had NOTHING to do with WHERE they were. It was because of Spiral Energy, which manifests through determination, and 'kicking logic to the curb and doing the impossible'. And the place they fought in was a pocket universe created as a side effect of the TTGL mecha's formation. Understand?

see the problem with your little AT field induced universe is that you don't want to accept the fact that GN particles negates the reasoning for at least 80% of everything 00 did and done and has. psycho frames were never explained IN UNIVERSE! (GASP). which leads to people IN UNIVERSE abandoning the projects because it was too weird.

and then we got 00, hey setsuna, this sword here cuts gundams. cuz we coated it with GN particles, and GN particles has 100000 different uses

My "AT field induced universe" is actually easily penetrated by weaponry (ideas) of many kinds, assuming those ideas are from people who are open-minded. Yes GN particles do have many uses, but so does Minovsky Particle of the UC. The GN sword that the Exia used was to cut through GN Fields (which only the GN powered Gundams can create during S1) thus it was dubbed by CB as the last resort against other GN powered units. (In case of a betrayal)

@kevinlei92 The GN sword's GN field negating abilities are explained in side materials (and probably in the series; haven't watched 00 in a long time so this may need to be confirmed); the GN Field was basically a shield of condensed GN particles, "dense enough to resist intense temperatures, physically repel most ballistic weapons, or even stop particle beams." However the major downfall of the field was that it was weak against GN-infused physical weaponry, aka Exia's GN sword.

so your saying, in basic terms. the GN particles are so awesome, that it has so many properties, that its basically magic pretending to be science. now how is this a real robot series? everybody ran around in plot armor that could only be destroyed by plot weapon and everyone essentially had god hand on their side until the last episode of both series.

It's all fictional elements mind you; and I don't believe how the MS came about was ever explained in 00. Most if not all AU series do not have dozens of novels, mangas, side stories, anime series, etc to explain their technology and history. UC has been built on since 1979, while most AU series are abandoned 2-5 years after their main anime series airs, heck they even stop making 00 HG Gunplas while there were the GN-XIV left.
