Still remember watching this on the TV and all the emotions bubbling inside of me. I´m not a huge fan of Opera but seeing Mr Pavarotti making such a passionate performance for his country to mark the opening of the Olympic Games even though he where seriously ill I believe is something I will remeber forever.
With every muscle in his heart, every ounce of his passion, every word he sang, and with his remaining breaths of life, Pavarotti's voice wept in every note of the music and mingled with our stinging tears. His last performance will never end.
I know its a recording, but in subzero climate of turin. The sound of his voice provides the warmth of the sun. Hes is not the greatest opera singer in history neither is he the greatest tenor, he is the greatest "SINGER" in history.
The thing I liked the most about Luciano Pavarotti is not just that he was an unbelievably amazing opera singer, but he sang with so much emotion and power. Nowadays it's more to do with the money that the artist earns than love for what they do.
In July 1994, I met this singer singing this song with all the vigor that her voice possessed at that time. The years passed and this was his last performance but even very old and sick gave me the same emotion. God be with you
@msozturk It is, not just lip sync but everyone including the conductors and the musicians were pretending to play, it would have been impossible to sing late at night in the sub-zero conditions of Turin in February. The late Mr Pavarotti actually turned down to performed so many times because of it.
@calumthetim Seriously a comment like yours? Whose the one should be making the departure? It's no news that the performance was sync'ed. Are you too naive to understand? Or even to post something literate. No doubt the performance was great. I didn't say it was horrible or anything. Leave your cussing elswhere, not in a cultured music environment here.
The most beautiful and perfect God given voice EVER to grace our planet. There will never be another like Pavarotti! I just love the inspiration in his face as he sings the last note....his eyes fill with some sort of holy magic!! Truly gutted that I never got to take my Dad to see him perform live during his many trips to Wales. Rest in peace Maestro xxxx
Boahh Gänsehaut pur!0 Ich liebe das Ende mit dem langen "Vincerooooo!", und dem orchester das die Siegesmelodie spielt. Luciano Pavarotti war unglaublich.
@MrMoozic is only one way to say that I prefer to hear Pavarotti, and I don't like the songs of Justin Bieber. After all it is an opinion [subjective] nobody is forced to agree with me, just as nobody is forced to listen to pavarotti.
there is something mystical about this. the flame, the sick look on his face, yet the song he sings--his wearing black--it was the end---yet for whatever reason--- the end is only the beginning---he is going to now go on and learn songs of angels that are forever and forever.
It does not matter that he was miming, it was his final curtain call and people just wanted to be in his presence. Pavarotti at this age still oozes charisma and still imposing figure.
i think the comments about Justin Bieber are irrelevant and completely out of place on this video. Can we not just appreciate and celebrate the gift that Pavarotti gives us instead of hating on a teenage boy? It's unnecessary and it is vile of you people to ask God to 'take' anyone, even if it is meant as a joke. Lets just appreciate the fact that Luciano Pavarotti can inspire us all in such an incredible manner.
@MsKatelaura I agree. God will not take anyone at the demands of others. In fact such insolence to God could lead them to a very nasty eternal fire pit ...
@thecubanism Actually, he was. I read it somewhere. But that is because his illness had weakened him too much, so he made a pre recording of this and mimed it.
@thecubanism He was miming because he was extremely ill. Mr. Pavarotti’s declining health, combined with the cold weather at the Winter Games, made it “too dangerous for him … to risk a live performance before a global audience,” Mr. Magiera wrote in a memoir, according to reports. So he recorded it several days beforehand and mouthed the words as millions watched in February. By July, Mr. Pavarotti was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which ended his life about 14 months later at 71.
@edgarhey1990 talagang nakakapanindig balahibo ang kanyang pagtatanghal , ito ay isa sa mga paborito kong kanta... sumalangit nawa ang kanyang kaluluwa
I heard that this song was pre-recroded... Leone Magiera, who directed the performance, revealed in his 2008 memoirs. "The orchestra pretended to play for the audience, I pretended to conduct and Luciano pretended to sing. The effect was wonderful," he wrote. Pavarotti's manager, Terri Robson, said that the tenor had turned the Winter Olympic Committee's invitation down several times because it would have been impossible to sing late at night in the sub-zero conditions of Turin in February."
Pavarotti...so passionented with music...you can see it on him that he wants to put everything that he has in his acts, an amazing singing legend and one of the great voices of all time.
i am feeling so lucky i could hear you while you was living .. this is a great privilege , sometime i am comeing here and just let your strong mastery and soul overwhelming me you are missed , thank you luciano for the magic
@GuitarholicFLY - I am so sick of hearing that kid's name. Do you realise you're not funny, you're not creative, and you're not impressing anyone by hating on him?
I hate his music, but I don't hate him, and when I view a video of the greatest vocalist of the modern era, I expect comments about Pavarotti, not Justin Fucking Bieber.
The reason the kid is everywhere now is because of idiots like you, you're part of the problem, so fuck off. This video is about Pavarotti, show some respect.
@Jacquibim If i somehow offended you, i apologize. But I'm not trying to be creative or impressing anyone, im simply expressing how i feel about the loss of a great musician. My comment is still about Pavarotti, and if anyone here is trying to impress people, i would point at you for flaming someone who clearly enjoys the same type of music as you.
And if you think my comment is disrespectful, think about how respectful u are by cursing in the comment section. Thank you.
@GuitarholicFLY - You didn't offend me, you just annoyed me. No matter what music video I go onto today, whether it opera, rock, metal, pop, electro, dubstep, whatever, there's always a comment about Justin Bieber, always...
It's just annoying because you're helping to popularise a musician who you clearly don't like, and in addition to that, the jokes are so tired, overused and unfunny that it does my head in.
And your comment is wishing death upon somebody, how isn't that disrespectful?
@Jacquibim I have to agree with you. I was watching a youtube video of an old televesion game show( whats my line), the mystery guest was Ricky Nelson and guess what? Someone had to post a comment with thats kids name. A show that is over 50 years old and his name got mention. Give me a break.
I always associate this song with the World Cup in Italy (1990) - The first World Cup I was ever able to watch. Besides that, it's such a beautiful song... An absolute epic by a very great man
Fue el Vincero más glorioso que escuche de todos los Nessun Dorma, lamentablemente fue el último, su cara de satisfacción y su cara de emoción y tristeza por saber si ese sería la última vez... lloro cuando lo escucho.
2:24 - You can tell he knew it was his last and so he felt every moment of the atmosphere. And at the end, he is feeding off the audience with a great great smile for the last time.
