dude, i liked the way the eggs looked, can u give me the instructions for how u boil them? the yoke looked similar to the egg i often find in ramen served in japanese resturaunts
@thunderhorse1000 Hi. Thanks for asking. My parents taught me to cook soft-boiled eggs for FIVE (5) minutes, AFTER the water has come to a boil. Be sure not to put the eggs into the water until it is boiling otherwise you will overcook. When done, take it out immediately, and open it up because it will keep cooking if you let it sit. Sometimes depending upon the size of the egg you need to adjust time to 6 minutes. Best of luck, and let me know how it goes.
Are you sure that people didn't crack open their soft-boiled eggs that way? I mean, back when egg holders were popular, that was how EVERYONE cracked open their eggs.
I have egg holders and I still crack them open and scoop them out. Funny thing is, if you read the comments above, a lot of people have trouble with cracking it like that. That is, in fact how I learned this little "trick" that once was so common "back in the old days".
I eat bacon once every two years or less, but when I do, I don't like to over cook my bacon. It becomes way too salty. My mom used to add a little water to deglaze the bacon salt and fat. Thats how I was served when I was a child.
Actually, with the egg in cup situation, just take your index finger and thumb and steady it in the cup, then with a knife and a horizontal flick of the wrist "click" it that way. Then take the top off, and with a small spoon eat it directly out of the shell. That's how those are "supposed" to be eaten (or at least how I was taught when young). Thanks for visiting!
Please post a video on how to use an egg topper cutter gaget while the egg is in the cup? I will even settle for a flick of a spoon on egg in holder, Please Please Please???
Agreed. I have no idea how to crack an egg in a holder. I guess practice makes perfect. As for now, I would just have to put up with eating more broken egg shells.
Funny you should mention that. I've noticed the very same thing over the years as I "wear them down". But thanks for the compliment. I've always loved vampires.
The tissue is a good idea! Otherwise the thing is just too hot to hold! I'm going to try this next time I'm eating a boiled egg because my method is way too sloppy XD
Thanks for being observant on this. The egg is indeed waaay too hot to hold if you want to enjoy a hot softboiled egg. Of course you can hold it under water for a few seconds, and it will cool down the outside shell enough for you to hold bare, and crack open without cooling down the egg itself (trick 236.8). Another great thing is the tissue helps to catch some of the little flicks of egg powder that invariable form when you snap-crackle-pop the egg!
I have immensely amused my friends by telling them all about how I watched how a random person on YouTube crack open an egg...and how you must eat it with bacon! XD
Ok. I made nicoise for lunch and I must not be quick wrist flicky enough as I got powdered shell in my egg. Should I whack the fat end of the egg or does it matter - and it's important as this caused a war in Lilliput, ya ken. I'm gonna have to buy a dozen and get practicing. (I hope the Fam don't mind egg for dinner)
You saw me do it, so it can be done! The flick of the knife is essential otherwise you can crush the entire egg and it melts in your hand, and not in your mouth. I love you.
In Canada we cooked 5minutes for soft boiled. Here in Japan it seems to take a bit longer (6min) otherwise the egg white is still kind of liquid). I boil the water, then poke it, then put it in the water, turn the heat down and cover it but keep it boiling. I had made all that video, but I get hecklers if they are longer than a couple of minutes, so...
Thank you so much!

OMG, cook your bacon! It was all fatty and uncooked. Buy a better cut of bacon. Of course, if you like it all fatty and uncooked, go for it.

wont the bacon give parasites?

It's not like NA bacon. It is more like a prepared meat, so it is not raw. You can eat it as if it were a smoked luncheon meat.

Cook your eggs to your liking. The just take your time peeling the eggs. Now heat them again in the microwave. Solves all problems.

Fat side works best and it does take a bit of practice with that "flick". But you saw me do it, right there on youtube so you know it can be done.

I tried it and made sort of a mess. hahahahaha.
But I will keep practicing and get as good as you are. Muuuuuuahhhh!
