I haven't read Hunger Games yet. I remember the Twilight craze, I was part of it. But to be honest, I got completely tired of the whole vampire facade. So, maybe I'll try Hunger Games and see how it is.

Hunger Games IS the next big thing. All 3 Books are translated in many languages. For example in german, its my language, and it is very popular. some german kids began to make selfmade trailers for the upcoming movie and personally i can't wait for the film, i want to watch it now, to see how the crew designed the film and if it could reach the upcoming feelings in the book.

I read the first two Hunger Games books in about two days each over Christmas Break. I couldn't get through the third as quickly because school started again, but I loved them all! I think it will be big, but I'm not sure if it will be bigger than Twilight or Harry Potter.

i'm very unsure about how i feel about the hunger games. while I think it will definitely have a larger audience due to it's action and suspense,I kinda have this big fear that hollywood directors will screw it up. I mean the book was plotted and paced in a way that makes me suspect that it was so awesome that it can only get worse in movie version.

I don"t think so, because there isnt as much girl fandom surrounding this book, as there are not as many guys to pine over. This book isnt as plotted on romance as it is on awesome.
If it is, it will be more like the harry potter fanbase, but for scifi fans, which are not as plentiful as the fantasy fans.
I'm starting to fear my favorite books being turned into movies, because although it's possible to make it amazing like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, it could also go the Twilight route and become WAY too overexposed for the wrong reasons. The Twilight movies weren't that good, and all the annoying fan girls made lots of people hate the books :(
I think Mortal Instruments will be pretty big. Though it already is, it's a great series. But I'm still waiting in anticipation for The Host to become a movie. They already announced that it's in progress... I loved the book so much!!!

@TheSparkleyVampire I'm halfway through Torment and I love it! Idk about Disney doing the movies. They did the Narnia books and those turned out okay. Speaking of fallen angels, you should check out the Blue Bloods series. They're really good.
@SpunkStalker101 If they were to make a movie I hop that Warner Brothers would do it. They kept Harry Potter's feel of excitment and Disney might have to make Arriane less quirky.
@TheSparkleyVampire I think they could do a good job with it. My biggest worry is that whoever they would cast for Daniel and Cam would be so "hot" that it would turn into Twilight all over again. Nobody would care about the story and they would just want Daniel to take his shirt off -_- Which I'm not saying is bad, but I think the story is too beautiful and deserves to be told with dignity.
After watching this, I actually went to the library to get the book. It was one of the best books I've ever read. I sincerely hope it becomes the next big thing.
i didnt like the ending of Mockingjay, i dont want to give away any spoilers, but that one certain death (those whove read it know) really pissed me off. Like it made everything seem so pointless because of the event that started it all. Also about that death, she could've made a bigger scene of it. Really all that happened was that she announced that they died. That was like it. And it seemed like she left out a lot of details and brought it to a close too fast like she was in a hurry to finis
Hunger Games is huge, and it's great, but I thought the ending to Mockingjay was kind of disappointing. My guess is that it will probably land somewhere between Percy jackson and twilight/Harry Potter. The reason for this is because all the books are out now and once the movies are out their really won't be anything to look forward to. The Harry Potter fanbase reached tons of generations because the movies are *still* coming out.
I think the Hunger Games could be the next big thing. It's only just (I think, maybe a few months ago) come out in the UK but I'm hooked already. Yes, the story line is a bit gruesome, but it's not all gore (like someone before me said), like when I read it it has a massive anti-violence message in it. The Hunger Games topic does not have the huge age group that Harry Potter and Twilight had. Harry Potter had the most versatile age and gender group of the two (Children - Adults, Male + Female) and was the most popular book series of all time. Twilight on the other hand had the age group of Teens - Adults and had primarily girl readers. The Hunger Games cannot be for young children like Harry Potter was and it just has such a gruesome story line and is mainly for suspense novel lovers.

I think that Hunger Games will be big next, and then the fallen angel books will start to become movies shortly after that. If HG is made into a movie though, it will most likely be bigger than Twilight just because it doesn't have anything to make fun of like sparkling vampires, so more people will be into it. Plus there's a bit more action, so its not so "girly".
The next big thing can possibly be the Hunger Games. However, A book I just read that had been recently made into a movie was pretty good as well. It is the first in the series.
I Am Number Four is about a 15 year old boy who was brought to earth with 8 other teens when they were just children/babies. They can only be killed in numerical order starting with number one, when number three is killed, the target is on him.
I Loved this book and cannot wait to see how the movie turned out. :)

@LuvSpunkRansom I agree. I liked the Twilight Saga, but it was a bit ruined when it blew up to be so big. All of a sudden everyone started judging the book by its cover. Too many say they dont like it because they think Edward is gay. And they havent even read the books, just seen the movie. People shouldnt be so quick to judge stuff, at least when they dont have anything to back up what they're saying. So I hope everything will stay small for now, so I can continue loving the books by myself.

I think one of the elements that made the Twilight Saga & the Harry Potter books a "BIG THING" was the suspense that kept the readers wanting more. The Hunger Games trilogy is finished, and while there is potential for a continuation in that series, I don't think that the authoress has stated any plans for such. I don't think the movie itself could make the Hunger Games HUGE, although I think that the books were just as good as (read: better than) the Twilight series.

i think it definitely has has a LOT of potential. a lot of my friends have read it, and some of them were ppl i hadnt recommended it too.
but honestly, i hope it isnt the next huge thing. cuz the huuuge thing that twilight became kinda killed it for me, and also i like, as hipster as this sounds (im totes NOT hipster), things that arent huge like twilight or harry potter, even though hunger games is already huge (when the last book came out, it was on our local news station !)

I read the first two Hunger Games books in about two days each over Christmas Break. I couldn't get through the third as quickly because school started again, but I loved them all! I think it will be big, but I'm not sure if it will be bigger than Twilight or Harry Potter.

i'm very unsure about how i feel about the hunger games. while I think it will definitely have a larger audience due to it's action and suspense,I kinda have this big fear that hollywood directors will screw it up. I mean the book was plotted and paced in a way that makes me suspect that it was so awesome that it can only get worse in movie version.

I don"t think so, because there isnt as much girl fandom surrounding this book, as there are not as many guys to pine over. This book isnt as plotted on romance as it is on awesome.
If it is, it will be more like the harry potter fanbase, but for scifi fans, which are not as plentiful as the fantasy fans.

I'm starting to fear my favorite books being turned into movies, because although it's possible to make it amazing like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, it could also go the Twilight route and become WAY too overexposed for the wrong reasons. The Twilight movies weren't that good, and all the annoying fan girls made lots of people hate the books :(

I think Mortal Instruments will be pretty big. Though it already is, it's a great series. But I'm still waiting in anticipation for The Host to become a movie. They already announced that it's in progress... I loved the book so much!!!

I really think Hunger Games can be the next big thing, because the books are very very very good, and they're making the HG movie to be release in 2012, when HP and twilight movies will be already finish, so all the fans of these sagas will be needing a new addiction, and HG, in my personal opinion is the best choice, and with some divulgation can be a big phenomenom :) (sorry for the terrible english)

@TheSparkleyVampire I think they could do a good job with it. My biggest worry is that whoever they would cast for Daniel and Cam would be so "hot" that it would turn into Twilight all over again. Nobody would care about the story and they would just want Daniel to take his shirt off -_- Which I'm not saying is bad, but I think the story is too beautiful and deserves to be told with dignity.

i didnt like the ending of Mockingjay, i dont want to give away any spoilers, but that one certain death (those whove read it know) really pissed me off. Like it made everything seem so pointless because of the event that started it all. Also about that death, she could've made a bigger scene of it. Really all that happened was that she announced that they died. That was like it. And it seemed like she left out a lot of details and brought it to a close too fast like she was in a hurry to finis

Hunger Games is huge, and it's great, but I thought the ending to Mockingjay was kind of disappointing. My guess is that it will probably land somewhere between Percy jackson and twilight/Harry Potter. The reason for this is because all the books are out now and once the movies are out their really won't be anything to look forward to. The Harry Potter fanbase reached tons of generations because the movies are *still* coming out.

I think the Hunger Games could be the next big thing. It's only just (I think, maybe a few months ago) come out in the UK but I'm hooked already. Yes, the story line is a bit gruesome, but it's not all gore (like someone before me said), like when I read it it has a massive anti-violence message in it. I suppose it'll always be a big thing for me and it's already starting to take over twilight for me (and I'm a twi-hard). If the movies are anything like the books then it's going to be awesome!!

The Hunger Games topic does not have the huge age group that Harry Potter and Twilight had. Harry Potter had the most versatile age and gender group of the two (Children - Adults, Male + Female) and was the most popular book series of all time. Twilight on the other hand had the age group of Teens - Adults and had primarily girl readers. The Hunger Games cannot be for young children like Harry Potter was and it just has such a gruesome story line and is mainly for suspense novel lovers.

I think that Hunger Games will be big next, and then the fallen angel books will start to become movies shortly after that. If HG is made into a movie though, it will most likely be bigger than Twilight just because it doesn't have anything to make fun of like sparkling vampires, so more people will be into it. Plus there's a bit more action, so its not so "girly".

The next big thing can possibly be the Hunger Games. However, A book I just read that had been recently made into a movie was pretty good as well. It is the first in the series.
I Am Number Four is about a 15 year old boy who was brought to earth with 8 other teens when they were just children/babies. They can only be killed in numerical order starting with number one, when number three is killed, the target is on him.
I Loved this book and cannot wait to see how the movie turned out. :)

I think Hunger Games could be the next big thing. Just because there are no creatures in it doesn't mean it can't be huge. It's an amazing book and a killer plot line that is completely original. Perhaps it won't be as big as Twilight but maybe that's a good thing. Wether it will be or not, I've been following the books from the beginning and can't wait for the movie!

@LuvSpunkRansom I agree. I liked the Twilight Saga, but it was a bit ruined when it blew up to be so big. All of a sudden everyone started judging the book by its cover. Too many say they dont like it because they think Edward is gay. And they havent even read the books, just seen the movie. People shouldnt be so quick to judge stuff, at least when they dont have anything to back up what they're saying. So I hope everything will stay small for now, so I can continue loving the books by myself.

@CarliesArt Ya, I'm getting really nervous because this is happening to Doctor Who and I am a HUGE Doctor Who fan. It's the same thing as Twilight. No one used to know what it was and then all of the sudden everyone is watching it. Either love it because everyone else watches it or hates it because they don't know what they are talking about. If you've been a fan for a while it gets tiring talking to people who claim they know everything about it. This is what happened when Twilight got big.

If they ever get around to making the Artemis Fowl movie as was rumored years ago.... then Artemis Fowl will be the "next big movie". Ranger's Apprentice also has that potential, like if the producers hadn't messed up the Percy Jackson movie then IT would be big.

well i adore the hunger games trilogy-its an amazing story and extremely well written. it would truly be an amazing movie saga. however there are a lot of other good ones that could be big too- like shiver, and city of bones. which are equally as amazing in love/adventure. ??? ps, hope you enjoy canada again! i think that the story itself even tough everyone knows it end it could be the next big thing, when i first saw the movie of twilight i wasn't aware of the books nor that there was a saga, and when i saw the movie i was looking everywhere in the internet for more information about the movie and there is when i discover the books and realize that there were 3 books out already, so i think that the HG have that same chance, and apart form that IT is really good story

I think one of the elements that made the Twilight Saga & the Harry Potter books a "BIG THING" was the suspense that kept the readers wanting more. The Hunger Games trilogy is finished, and while there is potential for a continuation in that series, I don't think that the authoress has stated any plans for such. I don't think the movie itself could make the Hunger Games HUGE, although I think that the books were just as good as (read: better than) the Twilight series.

No. Hunger Games could not get as big as Twilight or Harry Potter because it is over and everyone knows how it ends, so there will be no chance for speculation. Plus, waaaayyyy too many people were disappointed with the third book. Mockingjay did not live up to our expectations at all.
