I always think of two armies meeting each other in a raging thunderstorm whenever I hear this. Both trying to use the storm to mask their troops and outmaneuver the other, one army succeeds in moving its cavalry to the flank of the enemy and attacks them from behind. Although that's probably because of a battle I had in the Campaign with this happening.
it just annoyes me when im a catholic faction several other catholic factions order a full scale attack on me (for no apparent reason) i retaliate then the pope has a go at me. so im supposed to just stand their and watch my faction crumble? fuck the pope. im converting to orthodox.
@Eddsaysftw What faction do you play as? I did my first campaign on M2TW as the Holy Roman Empire. So far, I'm tempted to just go and burn down all of Catholic Europe.
@Killzoneguy117 I tend to play as the Byzantine Empire, Seeing as they have a good all round mix of units, and you don't have the pope having a go at you and ordering a crusade on you if you blockade another catholic factions port. Seeing as the Byzantines are Orthodox. I have completed the campaign as the Byzantines, and i am working on Egypt.
@Eddsaysftw Yeah. The Pope really pisses me off. In my Holy Roman Empire game, Venice declared war on my for literally no reason, and so I fucked up one of their besieging armies in Italy with another army of mine, making Venice into a butthurt little bitch, then a Crusade gets called and I'm one of the first to join it and make my way to the Holy Land, then the Pope dies and the new Pope is Venetian so now I'm on the brink of being excommunicated.
@Killzoneguy117 Yeah, like when i was playing as the Polish on Very Hard difficulty, i built up an empire which soon came under attack by the HRE. They took many of my towns, and i hate to admit it, i was losing. I was about 10000 florins in debt. But as they besieged my capital i scored a heroic victory and completely liquidized their army, and then the fucking pope excommunicated me!! The HRE standing: "HREs faith pleases his holyness" very annoying indeed. :S
@Eddsaysftw I hate the Pope so much when playing Catholic factions. What annoyed me the most about my HRE campaign is when Venice attacked me, they got excommunicated, then they got reconciled but their standing with the Pope was very low, then somehow, the fucking College of Cardinals elected the Venetian Cardinal. The cardinal from the faction that had just been excommunicated. If I get excommunicated, I'm turning my Crusading army around and unleashing it on the Papal States.
@Killzoneguy117 Thank you :) It mainly annoys me how they consist mostly of proffesional archers in the early period, But once you have a fortress they do have some powerful units. My Russian empire consisted of all eastern Europe, Hungary, Scandinavia, HRE was liquidized, as my empire stretched from Novgorod to Metz. By the time i got to france it was already destroyed by the Milanese..The main reason I successfully burned down most of catholic europe: No pope!

@Killzoneguy117 I personally liked Stainless Steel, was a good kingdoms mod for the Grand Campaign. I havn't been on M2TW original in a while either, very busy nowadays.
It's not about race people. That's a distraction perpatrated. It's about culture. Your's, Mine,Ours, Theirs. There all worth killing and dieing for now aren't they? It seems pretty evident to me. Don't bring your mindless philosophy or mystical notions into my territory or you'll discover another reason to kill and die for that you never knew you had. ;)
