  • Amazing

WIll this work on a Modern two-point tremolo ?

  • ei ciao, grandissimo hai finalmente risolto un problema di tutti i chitarristi =) vorrei solo chiederti come limitare le scordature dovute ai bending, durante un lungo assolo è difficile usare sempre così la leva, ti ringrazio =)

  • I yet don't understnd. If the guitar goes out of tune, you push the tremolo with your arm? Or are you just twisting the wood?

  • AWesome man, fucking awesome.

  • THIS IS MAGIC ! HOW THE FUCK DID THIS HAPPEN IF HENDRIX KNEW THIS MAYBE HE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD T TUNE BETWEEN SONGS! HAHA

  • I like the Frudua Way, thanks for sharing! And that Stratocaster is absolutely delicious

  • I am curious how to keep the guitar in tune when soloing after doing this. My whammy bar no longer throws the guitar out of tune thanks to this trick, but when pulling normal string bends during a solo, the G, B and E strings fall out of tune quite easily. Although pressing the whammy gets them back in tune, the solo sounds off. Any suggestions?

  • @GodinChild You can follow the tips I gave in the other series of 5 videos but this is a NON problem. Everybody did that in the past just watch what every great player of the past did at the end of each solo and that's all ;)

  • @FruduaTv can you name some, id like to check that out

  • @GodinChild a little pencil graphite in the grooves of the nut may help

  • it dosen't work...

  • Nice video, but this doesn't work with a floating tremolo on a strat. This only works for dive bombs, NOT when you pull UP on the bar.

  • @thejeffharter Look at the end of this video.

  • Holy hell. When you push the whammy bar down and the guitar went back in tune, that was like a magic trick. One question: When putting on strings, how many windings do you make around the tuner? Many? Few?

  • Can't believe this actually works! :')

    So happy right now!

  • Did you drop your guitar down a few thousand flights of stairs.

  • this technique works amazingly thank you very much. my beautiful strat now stays beautifully in tune. I cannot thank you enough

  • I'm gonna try this and if this works, I am going to fly to Italy and hug you.......

  • @SixStringHarmonies Holy crap! This really does the trick! Wow! I've seen something similar to this before, the detail they always missed is making sure the strings are settled and rested well in the pegs, behind the nut, and in the saddles. This isn't perfect, but it took a tremolo equipped PRS guitar I was ready to throw out the window, and makes it useable for more than one song in a row! Thank you for the DETAILS!!

  • Does this work with 2 pivots bridge too?

  • Thank you very much it realy works :S

  • SWET MOTHER OF GOD THIS WORKS!!

  • i have a yamaha EG-112-c, but the tremolo isn't vintage, but it is a strat style tremolo, would this still work?

  • great!

  • Not sure if this has already been answered, but what tuner are you using?

  • I'm speechless. I've never seen a guitar stay in tune like a rock like that one! Awesome video.

  • Fantastic Video! I can finally float my bridge without tuning problems! Thank you for posting this!

  • Hey your videos are all fantastic! They are really educative. I am working with two diy guitar projets so I really respect that you share your knowledge.

  • Excellent Video Frudua , Youve Shown Everyone, Including Me a Very Goos Trade Secret.

No Need For a Complicated Locking Nut..Floyd Rose ect.. Bravo

I'm Going to Try This On My Best Friend gtr 1989 Lotus Strat Custom Copy.

    thks you Frudua !!!! 10 /10 video // : )

  • Will this work on fender two point tremolo?

  • @whatdyathink Yes Sir!

  • My Strat still has a little bit of a problem with tuning. It's much better, though. It's not going a full step down when I hit the tremolo bar anymore. Thanks for the video.

  • @maggottron333 I have a series of 5 videos for further tremolo performance improvement check them out!

  • Wow, I'm blown away. I was skeptical at first, but this worked perfect on my strat. I play a lot of blues and country, so I'm bending quite a bit. When I bent the strings out of tune, depressed the tremolo, then played a perfectly in tune chord, my jaw dropped. Thanks so much for this!

  • I don't understand how this works, but Jesus I tried it on a synchronized-tremolo fender and... Now I am not able to go out of tune, no matter how hard I torment my whammy bar! Thank you so much!I finally get Yngwie now, when he said "I don't understand why you have to put a fucking floyd rose on it" =)

  • @guitarmasteryeah Ahahah Good!

  • @guitarmasteryeah even Yngwies strat goes out of tune every now and then(I've got a live Yngwie dvd and after each song he has to re-tune his guitar) people use a Floyd Rose mainly for the added versatility (with a Floyd rose u can raise the pitch 2 1/2 octaves u cant on a strat and also you cant do dive bombs on a vintage tremolo because the strings slide in and out the string saddles)

  • does this work with an Axl Badwater as well because i dont have a fender strat?

  • Hey Frudua,

I have a vintage squire strat. I bought the strat with the bridge laying flat, not floating. I just changed the strings and, without paying any attention, when I was finished I realized that i didn't give the strings enough slack and now the bridge is floating! This doesn't really bother me that much except for the fact that it is really difficult to keep the damn thing in tune! I've been pulling on the strings on the headstock, kneck, and bridge. Any advice?

  • @illnastic YEs first I have a video on how to fix a strat floating bridge in this channel: Secondly if you want the tremolo to be laying flat on the guitar remove the backplate, tighten the springs screw (USE A PERFECTLY FITTING SCREDRIVER) and retune. DO this until the guitar is tuned having the bridge laying flat .

  • @FruduaTv

Yea, I just did that and it worked great. I realized that it had nothing to do with how I strung the guitar but rather the fact that I changed gauges which automatically affects the position of the tremolo bridge. Nevertheless, I still have more tension in my strings than usual maybe because Im just not used to these strings or something. Have you written any books yet? Im watching your video on heigh action, very informative! Saludos desde Mexico!

  • i dont mean to aske a dumb question, but im gonna get a squier bullet for xmas and i need to know does this work on that? or just a vintage?

  • @MemphisMurk100 Yes it works for any standard tremolo

  • excellent!!!!!!!! advise thank you wery much

  • I can't get the low EAD strings to stay in tune while doing your method of pushing the bar and tuning. They always go a little sharp no matter how many times I repeat the process.

  • Well i want to solo (bend strings) and i can't press the bar every 5 seconds..

is there a way when i play bends and the guitar to stay in tune? cuse its very unpractical to play 3 bend notes and your guitar to be out of tune

  • This is incredible valuable information! Thanks:-)

  • will this work for whole step down?

  • @MatKiller1197 Yes check the other video "how to setup a stra tremo for floating performance"

  • @MatKiller1197 Yes Sir!

  • That is so cool it worked perfectly.

  • I've done this and it stays in tune all the time!

But whenever i bend my b string, that string ALWAYS goes out of tune... Any way to fix that? All my other strings stay in tune just fine

  • @Crazytjeuh To get rid of the bending problem watch my other series of 5 videos "setup yur strat for best trmolo use"

  • hi, can you tell me more less the distance between the bolts head (the ones in the back of the guitar) and the guitar body?? thanks.

  • hey i have a problem, my tremolo makes some noise like "plick", is that ok? thanks for the video, helped a lot.

  • @swrpgamer You most probably have one of the springs in the rear tremolo cavity touching some parts of the guitar check them out.

  • does this works on the SX Strat copy?

  • @setapartkid this works with any kind of standard style tremolo

  • @setapartkid Yes if it has a strat style tremolo.

  • another thing I found was the holes for the string looking down through the top of the tremola were drilled too wide and this allows the ball or little wheel to slip through the hole when you bend a note and catch, so your note goes flat, you can hit the wammy and it will dislodge but if you use fender super bullets you eliminate this, the bullet is too big too go anywhere, tuning problems solved, but if you break a string you can"t buy singles

  • Grazie mille Galeazzo. Incredibly useful . I have now overcome many problems with your YOU TUBE Thanks again

  • meh... it is easier to just block it with a block of wood, there are only a minority of people who use the tremolos on strats

  • how about trem pull ups? is it working the other way? I heard some guitar players that pull up the trem arm to restablish strings tension after getting out of tune

  • Comment removed

  • Great method

Its the only one that truly does work

  • does this have to be done each time the strings are changed?

  • @theminpoes No if you just change the with identical ones (brand and gauge)

  • this guys a human guitar tuner.

  • sir, are you PP?

  • Hey. Be my guitar tech?

  • I have a Fender Blacktop but it gets out of tune :( PLEASE HELP! I will do a live performance with my band and this is very important to me!

  • works so well real good for playing hendrix :p haha

  • holy jesus christ almighty! :O how have I not learned this?

  • My first guitar was a squire strat in 1987. Couldnt afford a floyd instalation. SO, before i had a graphite nut installed,i boiled the strings ,oiled the nut, and made sure the ball end of the string would turn freely as i wound the string. Then before coming to full tune, i would dump the tremolo to get any excess wind twist out. Also my string tree was removed. When i had my graphite nut made, i had the guy cut it smaller and make the string grooves real shallow. Stayed in tune.

  • Man, you are a magician.

  • Would this work on a FAT10 tremolo on an Ibanez? just wondering.

  • @DiabolicProductions2 Works with any kind of standard tremolo.

  • Fuck i wish i could tune like you!

  • @sumindiandude You can learn it's easy! How many entire songs did you learn by heart and can singalong'?These are just 6 notes!

  • @sumindiandude I think it comes with time. And you need to develop a good sense of tone with the ear, instead of using tuning devices

  • Crumbs. Favourited

  • Hahaha thanks

  • what if a have 5 springs on the back?

  • @freddyrock4ever12233 You have the trem arm some harder and less detune on the strings when doing a bending.

  • Respond to this video... Thanks guys it's a pleasure to be helpful!

  • I had a spare Squier Strat which I gave to my brother, but it was living hell to get it in tune. Thanks to this vid it is always dead on in tune and I can whammy like crazy. Best guitar vid I have ever seen!

  • YOU CHANGED MY LIFE! :-) thanxx!

  • Thank you very much. I did this on a Squier Strat and it actually works! Incredible! This information you've shared is worth so much. I did everything you said and it worked. I have sold Strat's in the past because I couldn't figure out how to keep the damn thing in tune. I think its time for another one! Thank you again.

  • THE BEST GUITAR SETUP VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!!! Mr. Frudua, THANK YOU!!!

  • I have been stretching my new strings for years but I never realized the application of these principles could be used to stabilize my tremolo action. It seems like you may have stumbled onto a trade secret that the pros keep to themselves or maybe its their techs that keep it to themselves. I will make excellent use of this video and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to record and post it. ~ADR~

  • I find it with this way of setting up it makes it easier to go out of tune when bending strings. Almost every 1step bend it gets it out of tune a bit, sure diving the trem does get it back in tune but its not something i want to do after every bend. Is everyone else having this problem while bending?

  • thx you so much what a great tip

  • HOLY SHIT YOU ARE AMAZING

  • at 8:00 i was like WTF????

  • Great lesson. I've never seen anybody discuss this before. You made it very clear for me. Thanks!

  • If you really want to know how to use your vintage strat tremolo in a effective manner, without tunning problems, in a more direct approach, try watching Carl Verheyen's video called "Whammy Bar Setup Secrets".

  • Amazing, thanks for your guitar magic maintenance....

  • 0:34 - 0:43 eruption, well executed

  • how about to fix a dragging strings from the fret? can any one show me how to fix this.?. i want to lower my strings but it drag on the frets. it muting the sound.. :( help me please.. because im going to use this kind of guitar on wednesday at the church.. thanks for u kind..

  • @jieidirockstardude What you mean exactly? the strings falls out aside of the fretboard? It mutes in certain postion?

  • @FruduaTv if i lowered the strings height it start buzzing.. i just can figure what exactly is needed to fix it right and low strings.. how can i repair my relic strat with out paying bills?.. i want the string lower.. tnx

  • @jieidirockstardude I have a truss rod adjustment video here and annother video on strings height at bridge di you watch them?

  • gracias

  • thanks man , super useful video , thanks , I love Italy Berh

  • =O This guy is not a luthier! He's a bloody magician.

  • does it damage guitars to use vintage trem to hard? i have a cort g110 strat copy

  • when i tune the e string, for example, it pulls the bridge up,and all the other strings go out of tune .... ?

    help please ?! lol

  • @mikesomething Yes this is normal if you have a floating bridge, see the last video a post for solving and managing this.

  • @mikesomething add more springs in the back that'll probably help

  • @mikesomething It's normal if you have a floating bridge. Watch my other video (new one) on the matter.

  • :D Awesome

  • damn that was cool

  • the only downside is that the trembar should always be in...

  • @petruccirag3 Oh now this is an advantage! ;)

  • Very cool. Thanks!

  • Mr. Frudua,

Great video and thank you so much. I have one question. I know this video was posted a few years ago but hopefully you are still "tuned in". When you backed off on the trem claw screws, was that only temporary to perform this process of tuning? Would you recommend re-tightening the screws afterwards, or is it fine to leave the tremolo floating? I currently have mine floating at around Fender spec, but my luthier seems to prefer having them "decked" on strats with vintage tremolos.

  • @dsydorko This is up to you and how you want to use the tremolo. Of course the floating tremolo choice has some marginal notes. I am preparing a video these days on this matter. Stay tuned.

  • Fantastic video, never seen in so few minutes such interesting things!

  • sweeet!

  • I can't keep my Strat in tune even when I block the bridge. But it sounds so good I still love it.

I have a Jem and I block the bridge on it at well, and with the locking nut the thing stays in tune for months at a time. Seriously! But it doesn't sound as good as the start IMHO.

  • Sir, Frudua

This is a great info video. I play a lot of American made Strats and I basically just made it a habit to tune after every single song. Now that you have shared your knowledge with this video, I have been able to keep my Strats in tune even after hours of play. Thank you so much and thank GOD for Youtube!

  • Great video,Galerto.Really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share this.May I ask which electronic tuner you are using and what sort of amplifier as the guitar sounds great through it. Very transparent sound.

  • Comment removed

  • Awsome, just got a strat and was killing myself with the intonation and tuning. Tuned and worked like a charm. Noticed it still stuck out of tune a numerous times and had to bend to get it back. Is that normal, I mean for a brand new guitar?

  • BUT YOU CANT press the vibra bar every time after bending!!

  • THANKS FOR SHARING THESE TIPS!!!!!!

  • Can this method keep a Bigsby tremolo in tune?

  • @curbowman Yes Sir!

  • ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS EVER !!! I came across this video by accident and watched it. I changed strings and it freaking worked !!!

  • This video is the answer. Thank you.

  • whats the name of the song from :35 to :42

  • the best way to keep your strat in tune is to get a gibson

  • @EMGlespaulMESA Yeah, but this actually works. So if you want single-coil pick-ups with no draw-backs, do this. And Gibsons get the weight distribution wrong on their guitars...

  • @McFro95 truth is i was half trolling, i actually have an american strat from 2000. i mostly play heavy stuff, but there are some types of music where a strat cant be beat. but for my repatuare thats about 20% of music that I play. so itake the great with the bad and using an epiphone les paul prophecy. and an esp eclipse 1000 all satin black. obv they are just les paul knockoffs. but the epi nails the feel of an lp. heavy wide body, locked bridge ect.

  • @EMGlespaulMESA Also check for a Tuscany Rush Custotm in the same pice range.

  • @FruduaTv Thx for the recomendation. i dont mean to be a snot, but i only buy guitars with an eboyn fretboard. my esp was a ltd deluxe limeted edition all satin with an ebony fretboard. and my epi has a stained ebony fretboard. i did not know that when i bought it tho. i found out afterwards.

  • I try to tune my guitar to Drop D but the bridge keeps rising and the guitar keeps getting out of tune, I've almost screwed the backscrews in completely. What should I do? I use a Ibanez RGD320 with 9-42's

  • @BandSniipeZ add one spring and watch my other video how to setup a Floyd Rose in 2 minutes

  • @FruduaTv First of all, great vid!

I only have one problem.. All of my strings are half a step en some a whole step detuned after just one bend. What could be the problem ( I have a Ibanez grx70)

    Thanks.

  • @Almerepokerstars SImply carefully follow this video with relax step by step

  • fantasctic! immensly helpful! works every time! thanks so much!

  • Does this also work on alternative tunings?

  • @MikePoppe Yes, but you have to go through all that again lol

  • you are the best man, very helpful video. Do you now how to understand that the fingerboard is curved, and how to fix it without damage it? Thanx a lot

  • Works perfect! Thaks for the vid!

  • Great video! This has worked on all my strats except one! My Fender American Deluxe with 2 point trem is rock solid except for the bottom E string! It goes sharp very sharp almost a semitone up! When I tug gently by the saddle it either goes in tune or goes very flat. I replaced the nut with a graphtech it has sperzels so it must be the saddle I think. I'm on the point of getting a Wilkinson as it's driving me crazy! Can you help suggest a solution as I can't find the problem? Grazie Mille!

  • @TheGubernot You mean you tried this video suggestions and the low E still go sharp when you dive on the wammy?

  • @FruduaTv Yes it does, the rest of the strings are fine but this one. All my other strats respond to your method perfectly but they have traditional fender trems. I thought 2 point trems were more stable? I've used nut sauce, graphite, changing gauges, floating, non floating, deassembling then reassembling and paid for two set ups. I've tried everything! It still goes sharp! I'm stumped!

  • @TheGubernot It's impossible. Just repeat the procedure correctly you're simply missing to do something about it on that low E. Watch the video carefully again and again and repeat every step carefully. It will work.

  • @FruduaTv it worked fine on my usa strat with a two point trem it might be your string

  • It works very well on my strat. Thank you so much, love your video :D

  • Thats awesome ! I really like your videos, they answer alot of questions! Thanks

  • thanks man

  • awesome!! very very helpful indeed, thanks for the upload.

  • 666 likes !!!!

  • Amazing.

  • wow....u play like u use floydrose....nice video

  • Very useful instruction, Thanks !!

  • You are my new Hero! You are Genius!

  • thanks for your knowledge, im going to work with my guitar right now

  • @UkeOfEarl Well I do like people! I really LOVE the rainsing of different opinions. There is something that fascinates and EXCITES me at no end in the fact that here, everyone can have, SHOW and state his own opinion freely, no matter what this opinion is based on. It's a long matter to explain but this is basilcally my thought :)

  • I got a question to everyone out there, why does this happen?. Why does it go out of tune and then it snaps back in tune when you dip the bar?. Is there a way you can make a trem work with bending and diving without having to dip the bar to get it in tune?. will a roller nit help?, are the strings hitching somewhere?.

can this be a solvable problem without using a locking system?

  • Frudua man this is fantastic stuff! Thank you so much man.

I used the Carl Verheyen method with intervalic floating tremolo tuning, and applied this little advices of yours and I never had tuning problems since! THANK YOU

  • i got one problem my fender bridge is too up

  • @punk434 Tighten the srpings in the back, mine had the same problem

  • @34210marco ok thanks dude i already did it but i have another problem y know that this is for the problem i have that my tremolo if i use it my guitar get out of tune

  • @punk434 I don't know man, mine does the same thing and i have the bridge is parallel to the body... I don't have a fender and i have locking nuts but it still goes out of tune so I have no idea my friend, sorry.

  • this is completly usless aT THE BEGINING HE SAYS ITS PERFECT TUNING STRATEGY AND THEN AT 7:10 HE COMES BACK WITH THIS CRAp about how it wont play in tune in a solo and you need to bend wang bar to get it back in tune. this is instable and inpracticle. i set my guitar up with oil and four middle screws raised a few miilimeters with oils in tremblock nut and string trees and the tones great and it doesnt go outa tune. you espeshaly dont have to go bending arms to get it i tune

  • omg that's really great! nice job

by the way, which tuner model is that?

  • @reikofact it's an old korg AT-12 which is with me since WW1 ;)

  • thank you so much you are the best

  • This is amazing. Thank you!

  • Yeah! you got it man!! great job, really, it seems to work really, i will test it on my Squier de Luxe, thanks!!

  • that's sick

  • Great....like my life wasn't complicated enough !

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community, these are really great tips which I've never come cross in 30 year of playing and guitar tweaking. I really don't understand how anyone can dislike these informative videos?!?!

  • @thedigitalsnake "I really don't understand how anyone can dislike these informative videos?!?!"

It Is the fantastic of the web! The total real democracy!
