  • Play like a TROJAN today!

  • Gee - The Catholic Church also teaches against capital punishment - so where were the protesters when GW Bush, proud signer of many death warrants as governor of TX, was asked to speak?

More hypocritical "christian" cherry-picking of scripture to mask their racist hatred of President Obama.

  • Abortion and the death penalty are pretty different. Abortion is always wrong. There does exist a moral justification of the death penalty - when the guilty poses a threat to society, for instance. There is no such justification for the killing of innocent human beings as in abortion. Please don't resort to calling anyone who opposes President Obama's stance on abortion as racist. I would have been happy had Alan Keyes been chosen to speak but he was also arrested.

  • whitetrashpoet - you're a dolt. The Church teaches that the State has the right to put murderers and other extreme criminals to death (2266 - Catechism of the Catholic Church) Your comment about "hypocritical cherry-picking of scripture" is stupid, as is your quip about it "masking racist hatred of Obama." So, simply dissagreeing with someone of color automatically makes one a racist?!?!?

Using that logic, since I'm sure you could find dissagreement with Alan Keyes, YOU ARE A RACIST TOO.

  • Notre Dame is no longer a Catholic college and should not call itself as such.

  • The only thing missing is some "pieces of flare" on the priest's sleeve.

  • Wow. Obama's goon squads are now arresting 80 year old men because they believe in life. How pathetic and sad we have become as a nation when we coddle criminals and imprison ancient heroes.

  • It is not Obama's goon squads actually. Notre Dame used the police to keep protesters off campus. President Obama really can't be faulted for accepting an invitation to court one of the biggest swing voter blocs in the US - he is a politician (I know that comes as a surprise to some people). The question remains; would Christ be on the side of the student who doesn't want his graduation "ruined" (what a goober BTW) or would Christ stand with the priest being carted off for protesting abortion?

  • ...and I also wanted to say that I think the police acted professionally. Again, Notre Dame had the police drag the priest away. The police were as gentle as possible.
