In the UK after WW2 coal, gas, steel etc. were nationalised to provide cheap resources and services to subsidise the private sector--state capitalism.
We don't HAVE capitalism if companies aren't allowed to sink like they deserve to. This kind of governmental intervention is completely contrary to capitalism. This is socialism.

At least I learnt a lesson for the future - any protest will always be hijacked, if you notice, there are masses of people going silent on certain chants and not on others. A socialist measure would be to completely nationalise the banks without compensation--they have bled us dry. What we have now is part nationalisation--the use of the state to prop up capitalist banks for a temporary period until they can be re-privatised at the earliest opportunity. It is an attempt to preserve capitalism not do away with it. In the UK after WW2 coal, gas, steel etc. were nationalised to provide cheap resources and services to subsidise the private sector--state capitalism.

Roosevelt's New Deal was a good example of state capitalism. He followed a Keynesian economic policy in which the state intervened into the economy pumping money into public works schemes. This policy continued into WW2 and 25 years after it.

It can only take from those who produce and give it to those who do not. Once the government has consumed all of the producer's resources, however, it will starve and collapse. Nobody wins. Democracy absolutely must be defended against fascism. However, the democracy that exists under capitalism is subverted, not by leftists, but by vast inequalities in wealth. Political democracy (everyone is "equal", has the right to vote) is undermined by the fact that the rich, the corporations and banks can go straight to the Ministries and pay lobbyists/PR people to change government policies and laws. Working people cannot afford to do this. Capitalism is the veiled dictatorship of the rich.

I only voted Tory once and that was in the local elections. I had never voted for them before, but David Cameron speaks very clearly and comes across well. I thought Gordon Brown was good too, better than Blair, but I think Labour waste a lot of money on bureacracy. I'm voting Cameron next time, but there are good points in other parties too.

Because there were non-swp and SWP protestors, yet, the media and everyone else will see that as purely a SWP protest, in actual fact, the majority were holding the placards out of peer pressure then anything.

Hey, I am Goldsmiths student and I was in this protest - and it really disillusioned me to be honest.
I expected to go to a protest on my OWN free will, and volation, yet I found that the protest, with well meaning, was not the kind of protest I could identify with. SWP pickets were distributed, MY PROTEST was the SWP's protest!
To all who want a change in this world... play the game, don't be a puppet or pawn in THEIR game, even protestors play THEIR games! other then that, enjoyable.

This is what happens with protests where the SWP contribute. They help in terms of organisation and publicity but they also want to control it. So, once you're there, have your own banners, do your own thing.

they are collapsing on purpose, all by design. its what they put back in its place that will be horrific.. see films, children of men, V for vendetta, doomsday for what they have in store for the british isles. i think they will force people into these inner city developmetns that have all been built recenlty. then they will cordon off the cities so you need travel papers ect to leave the city walls. nazi germany style

You are absolutly right. Their goal is to go to one currency. That is why they have been pushing the Central Banks in all countries to band together...most people do not know that the central banks are owned by the same families. Once they fool the sheep into accepting their unified banking system, it will be game over for individual freedom and liberty. I say let the banking system die.

They have created the housing dilemma as well as the entire governmental buy out so that they can own everything and make us fully dependent on them. Next will be the chip which will eliminate currency and they can keep track of their sheep and what they owe. The sad thing is we the people did not want the bail out, but our representatives caved in and the bail out went through anyway. So our voices are not being heard. We are in deep trouble.

It should not be seeing that each country is an independent entity. What is alarming is that for quite some time now, they have create a globalization and planed what is before us today. They, the world bank and globalist elites have been planing this situation for many years now, as it is written in the back of the US dollar bill: with the pyramid and eye," a new world order, we have prevailed". That doesnt seem strange to you? This has been planned my friend.

@markangeloc No, I see no evidence of planning, it's all a horrible cluster-f*ck being handled by lots of very greedy people wanting to maintain their positions of wealth and power. The idea that it was planned would imply that they were somehow superhuman and could predict this stuff. I'd expect a lot more organisation in that case :D
If you want a rational actor, look at actual superhumans i.e. self-perpetuating systems involving multiple people, not under any human control.

You are not looking at the big picture, you are only looking at the symptoms. They (central banks filtrated in governmental system) manipulate the situation to bring forth the outcome you see. They did it back in 1933 when they made everyone turn in their gold and created the depression. History repeats itself, and they continue to control it all. You are not seeing the grand scheme. I have done the research and know my history. The collapse is planned to have a globalization take place.<
