Yeah, i'm sometimes obtuse. I was always impreseed with the song " Don't forget about me " but didn't know who performed it and then was told by those in the " know" and found other great stuff such this Simple Minds. These guys what is it that attracts me so to them??? Maybe my ancestorial Scottish blood ?

This is by far my favourite version.of Waterfront. Is it me or does everyone suffer from goose-pimples when watching this video. Without a doubt Simple Minds were the most underated rock band of the eighties and nineties.I was fortunate to watch U2 and Simple Minds at there peak and there was no competition Bono couldn't lace Jim Kerrs rock boots.

@Nigelxman they are photographers, crew, hangers on! Wembley was a great place for a gig - saw some of the best gigs of my life there. Its still ok now (the new Wembley) but my best memories are of the old wembley!

I wish I was there. I missed them when they came to Toronto in the 80's. Don't know if they played Mapleleaf Gardens or the Exhibition Stadium. ? Actually wasn't into them then. Shit ! Oh well, better late, than not at all. Seems like the best band to ever come out of Scotland.

I was there - 20yrs ago this summer. Minds stole the show. Mel is a definate legend!Hairs still standing on end!

Man, I've never seen such a large and deep snare drum like Mel's. Man, he's like this bad ass king kong, in lumberjack shirt, beating those drums with soul! It's amazing what a natural Jim is as he is unphased by inconveniences, including a microphone line becoming too short, and how he just swings it over his right shoulder, to lift both his arms, these guys are veteran performers. I can't imagine the electric excitement and energy of performing before an ocean of people like at Wembly!

Simple Minds are the most underestimate band ever!4 me(j'm 40 and j saw alot of gigs,u2,depeche,pearl jam,pink floyd,radiohead,coldplay)they are the best live band ever with MUSE!where could u find..mick mcnail,derek forbes and the greatest rock drummer ever MEL GAYNOR!

Ciao Spike! Have you gone to Jim Kerr's hotel in Sicily, I believe it's the Villa Angela in Taormina Sicily. It's like a Simple Minds hotel of sorts...I hope to see it sometime. I will check out your videos on Muse, etc. :) I wish there were a CD recording of this concert, is there?

Steve, absolutely fabulous! Charlie steals the show with his incredible guitar playing, especially from 2:29 to 2:40! Wow, this is why the Minds were the greatest live act in the 80's!!!
