@ryanandblake77 well, at the opening page, there is a link to go to the Petrucci music library, but you can skip that and go straight to imslp(dot)org/wiki/ and on that page there should be a search bar, or whatever it's called, and you search the piece that you're looking for, you will get a bunch of links, and then you can figure it out from there.

For all I feel a bit guilty saying it 'cause it's a youth orchestra, they really do suck. It'd be a bit better if it were a school orchestra, or something, 'cause after growing up with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, I sort of expect kids who take the time to join an extracurricular musical ensemble to at least practice their parts a few times, if only just to learn the notes. -__-
What a bunch of trivial, nit-picky comments I see here! This orchestra is far better than many youth orchestras, probably most in fact. Sure, there are some skaty ensemble moments here & there, mainly in the loud tuttis when it's hard for individual players to hear themselves. Comes with the territory, and improves with experience. I'm sure this performance was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. Quit the quibbling, please!
People are critical because that is a part of public performance, criticism makes people get better at art. They wouldn't gain the character they are trying to develop for later in life if no one ever criticises them.
Wow, the french horns are critical. Too loud, out of tune and they don`t know their part. There's no balance in the winds at all. What happened to the bassoons? The orchestra is way out of tune. Then again it's a youth orchestra.
The soloist has a nice sound. Watch out those high notes. The technique is good. The tempo may be a bit too fast. Just a bit though. There has to be more musicality. Don't breath on the measure before the last trill of the exposition. Keep up the good job!
I have to give it to the soloist. It must have been tough playing with that joke of an orchestra. Not only does it sound like there are horn players having heart attacks in the back, they're playing so loud even while the soloist is playing. I would've turned around and asked them to be quite. "Guys, I got it from here." LOL! Soloist, good over all tone. Just a few spots that need to be drilled over and over until perfect. Doing good! :-)
clearly the original performance was better than this recording...the quality isnt too good. couldnt hear very much emotion. i see a childish shade of blue when i hear this.
@Giugio87 lol no they aren't they sound very good, its the audio that sounds bad.. This orchestra is Very good, just listen to the texture, and how well together they are.
at least they are playing..why must we all be so critical.. i am sure that we all have had times that we all were not always on the mark...someone could also be very proud of this performance..
the soloist played the piece very well, although IMO he could have adjusted his part to match more closely with the original basset clarinet version. the orchestra was completely out of tune, with incorrect notes being played frequently by the violins. also, the microphone used to record this performance was of a bad quality - all i heard during the orchestral tutti was a wall of sound.
Sorry for my english..but..is tere someone who's playing together the other?? And with the same intonation? I can hear instruments at 436 and instruments at 446..take one decision please..or don't play..you are killing it..!!! I pray you..
While I agree about the orchestra as a whole not sounding that great here, the clarinet sounds pretty good to me. I also wondered when I heard the beginning of this performance is could it be poor quality recording and bad acoustics in the venue? (I have studied piano to grade level through Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. I did well in all my ear training). I don't profess to be an expert about orchestral instruments. Is this a hight school orchestra?
Ouch. The soloist is quite talented for his age, but I think the orchestral part might have been a little too ambitious a selection for these kids. Tuning, though ... what happened there?! Even high schoolers can tune their instruments properly!

not perfect but excellent. unfortunately I found french horns and flutes basically ruined the beauty of the piece with the blaring. as for the clarinetist he is quite the gifted child! he made one big mistake where he chirped on a high note but even so it was finominal!
Oh forgot one thing...in general, Mozart needs to feel a little more like opera, a little more dramatic and playful dynamics. A lot of the parts should sound almost like singing.
1. Really bright in the upper register at points, like the cadenza at 4:10, and its also noticeable when he's doing those arpeggios that start at high notes than go into low range. Maybe you cant read, or maybe you cant see... SO I'LL TYPE IT IN BIG LETTERS, THIS WAS GREAT, ALTHOUGH HIS TONE WAS KIND OF FLAT SOUNDING, AND SOME PARTS WOULD SOUND BETTER MORE LEGATO.... Thats not judging....
How old are you like 8??? Im pretty sure im a texas all state clarinet player and I know what im talking about...
hey dude, im sorry. i just thought you were one of those people who claims to know everything about music but really sucks at it. texas allstate? damn... i can't even get into the junior symphony
Well, thanks all for the comments,....from the person who recorded and produced the video. The audio was recorded separately on ProTools, using 4 channels, mixed and put back to the video.
wow that was amazing! i really enjoyed heaing you play...for i am a young aspiring musician as well and am also starting to learn the mozart concerto...i hope im as sucessful as you! :)
thank you for letting me listen,
and for a youth orchestra...IT IS GOOD!!! So please dont be hating!!!
If you are listening to this work for the first time, I wouldn't judge the work by this recording. It's not badly played for a youth orchestra, but it's spoilt by the fact that one or two instruments are out of tune.
Hey it's brave to put this up on Youtube where the other recordings of this are from the likes of Ricardo Morales, Sabine Mayer, and Martin Frost.

probably a bit late but no.. no saxophone
there weren't saxophones in Mozart's time.
They were invented in the 1841 (50 years after Mozart's death) by Adolf Sax, so he did not compose a part for the saxophone.
It is however possible for a later composer to transpose a part for a similar woodwind instrument however, but is unlikely. Hope I helped. =D

Although his tone was kind of flat sounding, and some parts would sound better if he played them more legato...
but very nice over all... =p

Well, thanks all for the comments,....from the person who recorded and produced the video. The audio was recorded separately on ProTools, using 4 channels, mixed and put back to the video.

If you are listening to this work for the first time, I wouldn't judge the work by this recording. It's not badly played for a youth orchestra, but it's spoilt by the fact that one or two instruments are out of tune.
