  • I am curious about getting rid of the fleas off the dogs, not the carpet. Also, I am in So America and their flea products are almost 5 times the cost than those of the US. I also have 7 dogs so buying commercial products are out of the question. HELP!!!

  • thanks for this useful video info, very beneficial

  • If Borax can cut fleas, it might cut human lungs if inhaled. I would stay away from Borax until learning more about its safety.

  • Again, would putting salt directly on my dog be harmful to it?

  • @davidbfunny It might if he licks it off. You'd be better off asking a vet though.

  • U know what? Shut. Id dont understand any word. xD

  • would putting salt directly on you dog, be harmful to it?

  • I have bought the sprays salted the carpets vacuum at least 3 times a day and I still have these little you know whats jumping around. I am at my wit's end my cat has been treated with Frontline what else can I do nuke the house lol .

  • I used salt and vacuumed but it didn't get rid of them. I really don't want to get toxic sprays but I don't know what else to do. They have bitten my legs all up and they itch like crazy now.

  • @alm260 I know what you mean since I am going through the same thing. The sprays you buy in most stores don't seem to be working. My next solution is to spray some of the liquid spray I put on my lawn for everything that gets in it. I know it works outside at killing everything for months and will try in inside now. The brand name is: Fords" which looks like milk when mixed. Don't let it get on the skin as it affects your nervous system.

  • @semco72057 We found the solution to our flea infestation after trying many things. You have to bomb with spray that contains IGR (Insect Growth Resistant). We bought it at a pet store and it works! We've gone a week with no fleas. I bought some spray with the IGR in it and sprayed all the baseboards and our vacuum cleaner. If that wouldn't have worked, our last resort was to call in the exterminators. Glad we didn't have to do that.

  • @alm260 Thanks for reminding me of the pet store. I didn't think of them. I will look there this upcoming week for some.

  • @semco72057 They have spray, bomb and powder. We bombed with the fogger then sprayed areas we didn't think the bomb reached. Actually I think the bomb did read most places. Remember it takes 6 weeks for the cycle to be completely taken care of. We aren't having our carpets cleaned until after that time. I still vacuum everyday. Make sure to do that and throw the bag out immediately (or fold it up and put it in a zip lock bag and throw it in the freezer).

  • @alm260 Yeah, it's best to try any natural remedies first, since they can save a lot of money, and in some cases, would work better than any commercial flea product (some of which has chemicals that are harmful if swallowed by your dog btw.)

Today I tried boiling lemons in some water. The formula I used was four lemons to 1 quart (which is roughly 4 cups) of water. You boil the water until it bubbles, then you cut up the lemons real thin (slices should be roughly the size you would see on the

  • rim of a drinking glass), then boil the whole deal for 5 minutes, and cover & simmer for an additional 20 minutes, then let it cool. Then you strain all the liquid and discard the lemons, and you can either put it in a plastic spray bottle to spray directly on your pet (it doesn't hurt the dog in any way, even if he licks it off - the worst that will happen is he'll get a very bitter taste in his mouth - my dog Max loves it btw, he's weird, LOL) or you can put a few ounces into your dog's bath,

  • and immerse him in the mixture up to the base of his neck, and splash a little on the front, sides, and back of the neck and on top of the head (be very careful not to get it in the dog's eyes), and continue for ~ 15 to 20 minutes. It seems to work well, at least on my dog (an 80-lb black lab/german shepherd mix) because he hasn't scratched at all in the past few hours, where before he used to scratch constantly until sores formed, especially in the belly and the genital area.

    I'll continue to

  • @champton321 monitor him though, and will let you know how it works in the long term.

  • lol to both of you

  • I don't like natural methods, I like to use super natural methods, JK.

  • borax water and glue also make silly puddy
