There is a way to tell weather he/she is a male or female, it just might be difficult because the hands are moving. The way is to see, with fingers completely extended and held lightly together, if the index finger is shorter than the ring finger. If the index is shorter then he/she is a male. In females the index finger tend to be longer than the ring finger.
