  • @futurity619 it depends on how much boost you are talking about, but remember everything in excess is not good, if you put too much boost if you dont damage the engine you damage the turbo, thats if you do not have supporting mods because theres just too much stress

  • @futurity619 getting a thicker head gasket will lower your compression ratio without replacing any engine internals. This allows for more boost, but you still need to be careful

  • @futurity619 high boost is good to have low compression pistons, or else detonation because of too much compression with too low octane. Water/Methanol injection could combat that, though.

  • @REDTOP180SX do you even understand what you just said? not having a BOV will cause compressor surge unless you recirculate it the boosted air, and a malfunctioning BOV or one not suited for high boost will cause it too. Compressor surge is when the throttle body closes, causing a surge of air back into the compressor turbine FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, NOT THE ENGINE, causing the comressor to stall, and the stalling of the turbine fans is called flutter or chatter, which makes that noise.

  • if tuned right, s2000 motors can make well over 600 hp.. ON A STOCK ENGINE.. Ofcourse, u need a turbo kit capable. But it has been done, by more then a handful of people.. Even 700hp.. stock BLOCK s2000's.... LOOK IT UP!!

  • @DiEGO2DaBAY yeah on what fuel, and with what type of intercooling system? you can do anything depending on how much you are willing to spend and how close you are willing to dance on the ragged edge of kaboom. Anyone with any sense would lower the static compression so that high boost can be run with 91/93 octane and an air-air intercooler and no water/meth injection necessary

  • if you look at the BOV after the driver releases the throttle you will see a white cloud spitting out. with my experience in aerodynamics when you see a trail of "white smoke" coming off your rear wing that is just the wing cutting through the moist air. this was basically moist air forcing itself out of a small hole.

    and yes the compressor surge is that fluttering sound
